After discovering her passion for stand-up comedy later in life and finding the time and confidence to pursue her dream, Leanne Morgan has cemented herself as a must-watch comedian.
Leanne was feeling the lure of Hollywood after graduating high school, yet the idea of moving there was unheard of and too daunting for a country girl who had never been away from home. She enrolled in college at The University of Tennessee, where she graduated (by the skin of her teeth) with a degree in Child and Family Studies.
Shortly after, she married her husband, Chuck, and they moved to Bean Station, Tennessee located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
To stay busy after having her first baby, Morgan started selling jewelry at home parties. She was supposed to talk about the jewelry but instead conversed about breastfeeding, hemorrhoids and being a mama. The party guests thought that she was hilarious, and before she knew it, she was booked a year in-advance.
The jewelry company saw what was happening and asked her to speak at their sales rallies. It was there that women started saying, “you need to do stand-up!” That gave Morgan the courage to really go for it! She finally had access to comedy clubs when her family moved to San Antonio in 2001, and her career in comedy quickly officially got underway.
Morgan’s comedy has landed her at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has brought her development deals for her own sitcom with ABC and Warner Brothers, writer/producer Matt Williams (Rosanne and Home Improvement), TV Land and with Sony Television.
Morgan has garnered over 2.5M followers across social media and her popular online stand-up special, So Yummy, has reached over 50M views on TH-cam. Her fan base continues to grow with her relatability as she discusses everything from being a housewife, sharing Jell-O recipes to having a new grandbaby. Morgan has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The View, and Nick at Nite’s Funniest Mom.
Now that her children are grown, Morgan is moving full steam ahead with a career rooted in her everyday comedy. In December 2022, she concluded The Big Panty Tour with Outback Presents which spanned 100+ shows in theaters across the U.S. She also taped her first Netflix standup special which premieres on the platform on April 11, 2023. Morgan is back on the road with her next 100+ show Just Getting Started theater and arena tour with Outback Presents. Her first book, What in the World?, is set to be published by Random House/Convergent, in August 2024.
When not on the road, Leanne cherishes spending time in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, three children, grandbaby, and two beagles.

I stayed with my mom for 2 years as she was getting sicker. She had the temp set at 80. I was also in menopause. I thought I was going to explode. I would quietly go out to the car and sit in the air conditioning. Mom would tell me to turn the temp down and I would turn it down to 75 for a while. She would put a heavy sweater on. I felt so bad I turned it back up and went back to the car for a while. We would both just laugh about it.
She's gone now and I would give anything to have the temp set at 80 again. I miss her.

My mom's gone now also oh, we would go to West Virginia from Indiana and visit her aunt in the summertime for a family reunion. My mother was very tiny and petite and she would get so cold so easy. My aunt kept the air conditioner super cold. I would say to my mother you better pack your heavy sweater, and your heavy house robe, and winter house slippers cuz you know we're going to the Deep Freeze! LOL.... mother would have to go and sit out on the front porch with the sunshine and the temp 95° just to warm up! She'd say oh the warm sun feels so good. She would say I was so cold I was turning blue and her little wrinkled boney arthritis hands would be so cold! 😂 LOL I sure do miss my mother, and all the wonderful times that we spent in West Virginia visiting relatives!
I took care of my Mom and I slept on the couch because I can't climb stairs. All night long the furnace just kept turning the blower on and a while later kick in the heat. The house was still cold. As we renovated we found out there was absolutely no insulation in the house! Those old houses just didn't. I always wondered if it was warmer when they had a chimney and a pot bellied stove.
I recall staying with my mom for about 6 months a few years before she passed. Yes, the house stayed HOT, and it was our every night ritual to eat a wonderful meal on tv trays in front of the tv watching game shows and “The Golden Girls”! EVERY night! I still watch that show and think of her every time! I miss my Mama. 😢

My sympathies. My father changed his thermostat from "sauna" to "incinerate" around his 90th birthday. "I'm going to be comfortable, dammit!" He was the ONLY one. Then I'd pay his fuel bill and have sticker shock.😂
Yeah, my husband had covid and his lingering symptoms are brain fog and being cold. He even turned the heater on when it was 80 outside and "cooler" in the house. I was burning up and had to point out the blanket that was mere inches from him.
Ummm I get it. I'd be red and dripping with sweat! I'd have to go stick my head in freezer.. I keep my house cold.. my husband has to freeze..

I “babysat” a 92 yo woman overnight who didn’t need assistance but was afraid of the dark. The first night was torture, it was so hot! I couldn’t get the windows to open and couldn’t find the thermostat for hours. When I finally found it, it was on 90! From then on I turned it down after she went to bed.
I'll be 70 in 5 days. My temp is set at 70 while I'm watching TV. While I'm up and about cooking , cleaning or baking, it's 66. Bedtime is 68. This lady is a treasure.
I've got to have it cold. 71° is warmest I set my thermostat. When I visit my 90 y.o. parents it's like walking into a sauna at almost 80° 🥵

My mom worked in a nursing home and each room had its own thermostatic control (it was an older facility😂). She went into a room once and said to the resident, a grumpy old man, “if you died and missed heaven you’d never know it”. He understood her meaning and replied “ is it hot as hell?!” 😂😂😂😂. They both had a laugh! But yes it was.
My mom is 80 and likes the temperature at 75 doesn’t fall asleep until one or two in the morning. She’s a bad ass. 😂
Mines a badass too. Up watching the news and movies and keeping up with politics better than the zombie in the white house. She's good enough lately to let me turn it to 76 during the day. Tough cookie. ❤
My mother-in-law is just the SAME WAY! And she recently turned 90!!! Sharp as a tack mentally, and still works (very part time now) as a paralegal in downtown Atlanta! She drives herself the 45 miles one way, goes to the gym 2 days/week and is very active politically!! She puts me to shame and I’m 64! Love her!
Now that is one Party Animal up until 2 am.
Lol my mom lives with me and my family. We keep the house at 76 and she wears pjs without a robe even into the winter when I’m all bundled up like an Eskimo. She also stays up until 2am on a regular basis. Many nights I’ve conked out waaay before her! Here’s a high five to our party animal parents 😂❤

I took care of my mom after daddy died in 2002. Then in 2008, I became a widow myself, and we moved from the farm. She had COPD, and it was easier for her to breathe in cooler temperatures, so my thermostat was always set around 72 in summer, and only 68 in winter. She passed in 2015, and I am so used to the cooler temps that my kids and grandchildren are cold when they visit. They all bring heavy clothes and slippers , and we love our time together ❤️
I've been there and done that. You have to make sacrifices, but it hurts a lot more after they're gone.

My mom in law said she’d pay the gas bill if we’d turn it up, and we told her it wasn’t that, but our bedroom was upstairs. It was even hotter upstairs!
I lived with mom n dad the last two years of their lives. It was 82 degrees, Matt Dillon and Bonanza. They were 94 and 89, just six months shy of their 70th anniversary 💜💜
86 Dad. Gone now. Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman EVERYDAY. I still watch them now

Girl!!!! My parents are 90 and 84. It’s a fricking SAUNA at their house. I’m helping them out right now. I have to be practically naked to do housework without passing out.

My mother-in-law used to have the heat on in the summertime in Sacramento California. If you don't realize it we get triple digits heat in the summer. I think I got you beat. She always wanted me to stay for coffee and I always say I had other things to do and then she'd look at me and say okay I'll turn the heat down if you stay for coffee lol so I enjoy many a cup with her before she passed and went to Jesus
I'm 65 and have had my heat on all summer and sleep with electric blanket I wish I wasn't so cold it miserable low blood and Iron took infusion for iron thick sock layers of clothes

Honey, is Tennesseeans have you beat😂. It’s triple digits from may to august nonstop. Y’all live by the ocean and get the ocean breeze which cools y’all down. We have nothing but lakes and rivers that just make it unbelievably humid and hot. Y’all hit triple digits what, 4-5 times the entire summer? Ours is a 4 month long hell hole
As a caretaker with elderly, so true!! They love Jeopardy and Wheel, (though on later, 7pm). Then, go to bed. Yeah keep heated up!!😂

Omg when my gma was in her last 2 years, we took turns staying with her so someone was always there. I used to bring a summer outfit (shorts and a tank top) cause her house would be SWELTERING! lol miss her dearly. Truly, my angel ❤

My mom kept her apt at 78. Living in South Florida… 78 in SoFlo when it’s 98 outside is the same thing..! I would turn it down when I would visit and she would immediately tell me to put it back up as it was wasting electricity… soooo, like I had to remind my parents that I pay the bill, therefore I can. It bothered her sooo much.. mind boggling. You know the second I left that AC went to 80! Not once in 20 yrs did I ever tell them to be frugal with electricity.. quite the opposite. Perhaps guilt that I was paying for it..?
You have to pay for it but they have to live there. Let them pay for it. ;)

My parents are 72 and 83, and they keep their house like a fridge. Every door and window is always open. Fans on in the bedroom day and night. And on days the open windows aren’t enough to keep the house cool, the thermostat is at 62.
They also have a better social life than me. And my 83 yo dad still works. Shorter hours, but still works. My mom keeps an eye on his books, because his memory isn’t what it used to be. But he can still do long division in his head down to the decimals.
As a rapidly approaching 71 or 82 year old Jimmy, I find 82° a bit balmy and Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune fun and 6:00pm reasonable.

I told my Daddy that I had to have some air, I could not get but so naked. It would be 90 in his room at the personal care home. I would sweat and watch RFDTV with reruns of Lone Ranger and Hee Haw.

Yes! I’m a RN in a nursing home and most every resident keeps their temps HOT! It’s hard to breathe in their rooms at times. But I also see most of their TV’s tuned in to the old westerns, Lone Ranger reruns, and the like! I’m 64 myself so I LOVE what they watch!! We sure have some of THE sweetest little people there you could EVER hope to meet or know!

@@saritataylor4235I loved it because my gramma enjoyed it so much, we’d pop in her swallow you up mattress with a ton of homemade patch work quilts, they were so heavy you almost couldn’t move, and her feather down pillows and we watched Hee Haw and the Lawrence Welk Show, I miss her, my parents allowed me to spend as much time with her as I wanted, she was a real gem…. I still think about her fried mush, I make it but it’s just not the same

My opinion is this. My parents took care of me, sacrificed so much and went without a lot for many years when I was a growing up. Now my dad is 78 years old. Has his temp in his house set at 79 or 80. He deserves anything is wants because he raised us to take care of your children and your parents first
Not if I can't breathe. My mom would have it at 74, but if it's much higher than 69, I can't breathe. We compromise at 70 or 71.
I LOVE “my little momma and daddy”!!! I called my mother “my little momma” for the last year of her life. And she was just a little tiny momma by then. God love her. 🎉❤❤
My mom always wanted the temperature down. She passed away last year at 73, and ever since my 80 year old father has kept that heat at 80+! I personally love it because in spite of the night sweats I still get cold during the day. I'm always toasty when I go to see him.
I would dress like it's summer to visit my husband's grandmother, and she always asked if I was cold! Apparently, she had forgotten about menopause lol.

When I'm cold, i make soups that have a little ginger,or just a touch of chili powder, cayenne pepper. I also take ginseng , in capsules. Sprinkle cinnamon in my coffee or tea. It helps warm up my blood so j dont get as chilled in winter.
My dad is 81 and he still works full-time plus two other jobs. The man is a fucking machine. I go to bed and he still up doing shit

I can relate, my dad is 87 and has dementia.
I put the TV on Wheel of Fortune, told him it's Wheel of Fortune, he said "yeah right"😳
Stayed at Dad's for two weeks. Kept the wondows closed, with no AC in August when it was 92° outside. It was hell on earth to be there.😅😅😅😂

Whenever I would visit my grandpa who was in his late 80's the heat would be cranked up. I would always get so sleepy, trying not to fall asleep during the visit.

Yeah, my mom WAS like that until she fell some months ago and had to be hospitilized and in rehab. Even in there, she asked the nurseor the aid to turn up the heat. In July. In Ohio But when she came home she had the AC on the rest of the summer. No heat. Before, when my BIL came to visit, he would bring a pair of shorts and a wife beater tshirt.
I would sit and visit with a roll of paper towel to sop up all the sweatrolling down and be fanning myself with my paper fan I carry around.
