They asked newcastle united to pay to redecorate and get rid of any Red & White or sunderland based decorations, as it would be cheaper to newcastle to sort it in preparation than paying to fix it afterwards Newcastle then went and did all this without the decoration being signed off (which it should have been per the two club's agreement)

I'm a exiled Sunderland supporter in Spain used to have a season ticket in the 80s&90s and while it's not ideal I don't really care it's the on field action that is the thing that matters and given a choice now I'd take a drubbing by Newcastle if we were guaranteed promotion. But I do appreciate it's difficult for fan if you live on the area.
The Derby travelled to Oakland California (USA) recently. Our parish contains a Dominican Priory that hosts international sabbatical program for priests and religious. I am a Newcastle supporter. Our replacement priest lives in Newcastle, but is a Sunderland man. Tense/cordial post mass conversation a few years ago, Sunderland had been sent down from the Premier League but their supporters were confident in an immediate return. Look how wrong you can be.
I’m a Sunderland fan who doesn’t live in the North East, no one understands what this derby truly means. Unfortunately due to us not playing against each other for years, people don’t understand it. I can’t blame them 🤷♂️ I’m 16 and can only remember Defoe’s volley which was a massive moment, how can we expect other people to realise how big the derby really is?
Absolutely shocking but the peter reid sign was already there. How do people not know that Cheer up Peter Reid was an actual sunderland chant and song that nearly made the top 40.

People don’t realise how deep this Derby is. Both cities have hated each other since the English Civil War with Newcastle fighting for Charles I and Sunderland fighting for Oliver Cromwell. Then you had the intense rivalry in the Industrial Revolution between the ship building and mining industry which continued the resentment between the two. Based on deep seated history between two groups only the Old Firm has more history
It's meant to be Tyne-Wear when it played at Newcastle and Wear-Tyne when it is played at Sunderland. But even as a Sunderland fan. I just call it the Tyne-Wear derby because it's in Tyne and Wear.

It's called the Tyne and wear Derby because the county both clubs are situated in is called tyne and wear. Mackems will claim it's the wear and tyne derby if played in Sunderland because they think it's name isn't derived from the county but is somehow a superiority complex.
Do some more research. The “Cheer up Peter Reid” was already in the Black Cats Bar. We used to chant it before the Newcastle fans changed the words to the song

The peter reid chant is a sunderland song that has always been in there. As for the rest it's an absolute disgrace that has been allowed to happen and indefensible regardless of any club statement.
As a Leeds fan I agree with your point the less it’s played the more potent it becomes I’m really looking forward to Leeds having another crack at Man Utd when we get back at the same time I’m looking forward to playing everyone cos they all hate us
Good video mate but the picture frame with "Cheer up Peter Reid" has nothing to do with Newcastle. That's the song they used to sing about 'monkeys heed' (Peter reid)...we changed it to "Fuckoff Peter Reid" but "Cheer up Peter Reid" was their original song so the picture is fine and theirs
As a Sunderland fan and season ticket holder through the good years and the bad years, I've had nerves before the Derby every time and this is no different. But this is a complete free hit for us, if we win, it will be the most embarrassing thing to happen to Newcastle in my lifetime. If we lose, it's expected, we are a championship side. It's going to be fiery, feisty and its going to be a loud atmosphere, from both sides. I'm hoping Sunderland continue the Derby tradition of hire a new manager before the Derby and take home the win, but I'm absolutely bricking it regardless 😂 Ha'way the Lads 🔴⚪️
Is that the gulf between our clubs that you say it will be our most embarrassing loss and you think it’s a free hit , it’s you admitting we are huge in every way compared Vizehto your tiny little club and I promise you we will win SMB …………Ps Vizeh They are not a hugely supported club , they have huge amounts of empty seats for every single home game and have not sold out the stadium until we arrive SMB 😂😂😂
@woody140 no, it's because you've spent more than the yearly allowance on a typical Americans food bill on one player, never mind the 11 you have on the pitch 😂 on paper you should destroy us today, but it's never like that on the day, as we both know. I've gone into derbies thinking it's gonna be 8-0 and we won comfortably, and then there's been derbies I think we are gonna win and it finished a draw. No Sunderland fan hides the fact your team is better, but if we do win, and it could happen, you have to go into work on Monday and get reminded about it for a long time to come, if you win, none of us will say we didn't say you would already. It's an entirely free hit. 12:45 is gonna be interesting for both of us. You can lie if you want but the nerves are getting to you, just as they are to me
It’s a derby game full stop , I would never say it’s a free hit under any circumstances, the rivalry is surely bigger than that , is it no big thing if your team loses today , as for nerves , no I just can’t wait which is why I was awake a 5 this morning and typing this message now 😂😂😂 Ho’way the Lads 😂😂😂
Newcastle v Sunderland, Villa v Small Heath, and West Ham v Millwall are by far the best three derbies in England. The only ones where both sets of fans genuinely detest one another
It will be tough for Sunderland to keep up their good derby record, given how much has changed for both clubs since 2016, Newcastle with their new owners and Sunderland coming back from double relegation. But, "it's the hope I can't stand". Gerrinterem lads!
I am not even from England and I am still pissed on behalf of Sunderland fans, I can only shudder at the thought of my club (FCSB, formerly Steaua Bucharest) doing this. To be fair a gentleman below did remind me that back in 2016 our owner was trolled by Dinamo fans into allowing them to put up a “Only Dinamo Bucharest” choreography during a CL qualifier tie with Man City but at least they used deception on that one, I can’t imagine the club doing that on purpose. The Sunderland lads that gave their approval for this should be fired immediately imo
I do understand where you're coming from viz but this is common practice for teams in the dressing rooms they put there own flags banners colours up etc to keep away from "head games" trying to make it feel as home for themselves as possible and that's normally done by members of the opposite team the kit men basically also make there experience as close to there home ground as possible if I've explained this well enough 😂😂
This is not about the dressing rooms (even there I remember reading that there are differences between the home and away ones sometimes and I don’t think they repaint them every match or anything, maybe they come with 2 banners there and put them up like you said) but about something as public as fan areas, that is just a massive L. I am not even from England and I am still pissed on behalf of Sunderland fans, I can only shudder at the thought of my club doing this
"Cheer up Peter Reid" was always there. It was a saying the mags took from us. As a Sunderland fan personally I didn't mind the whole black cats bar thing. Make as much money as we can from the mags.
This happened in Romania once while fcsb had a match with man city in the champions league the rival fans of fcsb dimamo Bucharest tricked the club's owner into hiring them to do a tifo but instead they made a tifo with their caps that read only dinamo Bucharest their biggest rival 😂😂
FCSB fan here, dont even remind me of that lol. It was an amazing troll to be fair but I still hate it. At least Becali allowed them in in good faith on that one, this is the club itself stamping all over it s own history and culture
Mackems would never spell or say it as "Howay," but some Newcastle fans, notably from County Durham, have spelled it "Ha'way," evident in banners at the 1976 League Cup final at Wembley. Also I'm from Newcastle and there are different ways of pronouncing it if I'm saying Howay the lads, I'd say it as an 'ow' sound but otherwise I'd say 'Ha'wair'.
It is odd to think that this will be the first Tyne-Wear derby in 8 years.

I've been a Sunderland fan all my life and to see the Stadium of Light wrecked like this is a shame, hope whoever let this happen gets removed.
Can't imagine seeing Arsenal red at the Hotspur stadium anywhere outside of the kits in the away end... embarassing from Sunderland
Let's gooo Vizeh uploaded!!!!!!
The new episode of Sunderland till I die looks wild
As a Leeds fan I agree with your point the less it’s played the more potent it becomes I’m really looking forward to Leeds having another crack at Man Utd when we get back at the same time I’m looking forward to playing everyone cos they all hate us
Aye was kind of let down with Leeds v United, thought it would be more of a proper go
I reckon we beat them next time Archie Gray goal, Anthony misses a sitter 1,0
1973
Mags own the north east
Six in a row
Wait til you actually beat them I’d say
@Vizeh they rolled out the black and white carpet for us we have already won 😂😂😂. That can never be forgotten ❤

Be a crazy game honestly, good luck!
@Vizeh if we win tomorrow expect a very drunk "I love you" thank you tweet for the good luck wishes 😂😂
⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️ MACKEM TWATS!!!
We all like to think our local derbies are the greatest and fans from the north east are no exception
Btw cheer up Peter Reid is sang by sunderland fans too, just with different lyrics
Please cover the Merseyside derby and the old firm derby
😂😂😂😂😂
Merseyside yous sit next together 😂😂😂
Also don't forget that today at the Stadium of Light they didn't start serving alcohol till a certain time so things won't get so wild
As a Millwall fan I do not accept Villa vs Birmingham above Millwall vs West Ham.
We Are 🖤UNITED🤍
Newcastle v Sunderland, Villa v Small Heath, and West Ham v Millwall are by far the best three derbies in England. The only ones where both sets of fans genuinely detest one another
It will be tough for Sunderland to keep up their good derby record, given how much has changed for both clubs since 2016, Newcastle with their new owners and Sunderland coming back from double relegation. But, "it's the hope I can't stand". Gerrinterem lads!
Loved this videooo!! KRO 💙
😂😂😂😂took from us

5:58 Marcos Alonso played for Sunderland???
Milan fan here and if they dare to touch curva sud with blue colours and the ultras find it the club may not be in a good phase
Even the scoreboard at SJP used to say haway. Delineating the two is a fairly recent thing, or maybe I'm just old.
