Hearts Hibs has similar background to the Old Firm, but it goes back way further. Heart of Midlothian were formed in the old Canongate area of Edinburgh, then Hibernian were formed in the cowgate as a club for Irish Catholics. It's a stupid idea to mix sport and religion imo, but anyway the two teams first played in 1875 I think, and the match ended in a fight with Hibs fans chasing the Hearts captain. 😆 It's been pure hatred since then. Celtic were formed in 1888 by Hibs fans from Glasgow who wanted their own catholic team. But they weren't really rivals with Rangers from the start, in fact the two clubs fixed matches to get more money, which is where the term 'old firm' came from. Undoutbedly the old firm is more violent though. Dundee / Dundee Utd have their stadiums right next to each other, so they don't really fight. Liverpool and Everton deserve some special place of shame because their fans sit together in the stands like it was tennis or something. Bristol City and Rovers hardly ever play on account of Rovers being shit. City have more of a rivalry with Cardiff because of the England/ Wales thing, which is pure hatred. I dunno about Cardiff but maybe they hate Bristol C more than Swansea, I dunno.
the reason why much ManU fans would say they real derby is liverpool and not Leeds is because hey havent really seen the real teams face up eachother back then

City vs Stockport used to be a big one back in the day
Norwich vs Ipswich is such a big rivalry the fans hate each other and the player also hate one another I think it’s much better to watch as the atmosphere is always good
There is a lot of beef in Swansea vs Cardiff I was there and there was fights galore
its crazy on match day, i cant speak on the songs that swansea sing as im a cardiff fan, but some of our songs about swansea are evil
@@rinoooox9483yeah Same hear if we speak we go jail
West Yorkshire Derby should be here . Huddersfield vs Leeds. HUGE GAME
You should have had the belclasico in there. It's the biggest derby in Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK
Belclassico>>>>
The big two 😍😍
As a Liverpool fan Liverpool v Utd is not as big as it use to be, I think Liverpool v City is a bigger derby/rivalry these days.
Man City is your main competitive rival but your biggest rival really? I have to disagree
@@Liverpool-Thedirtyredteam yeah I agree with you here. Sure in the league Man City vs Liverpool is more intense and more competitive but you can’t forget all the history between United and Liverpool that game is massive even if this season was just 1 sided
burnley blackburn is actually class
Exeter City Vs. Plymouth Argyle is quite spicy and now with both in League One the Derby will start up again
Yep
Idk if you know this but the limerick v cork city derby won't be happening anytime soon anymore because limerick fc disbanded due to liquidation. This recently happened btw
Was gonna complain about your reasons for not putting us vs pompey in pure hatred but you mentioning the gap and the 4-0 means i love you
I live up north but I lived in Southend for a few years and I can tell you the Southend Colchester derby is definitely pure hatred 😂
But no one gives a shit about it
Yup I'm from colchester it really is
As a colchester fan, i would like to say...WHAT DO WE THINK OF SOUTHEND!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a malaysian LFC fan the pain i had to endure for 3 years in secondary school with a class full of Utd fans will never leave my memory. 3 whole years of classmates saying im a biter and would slip.
More serious moments as i got older, running into a gang of people in utd jerseys on derby day and me with my lfc shirt at 3am being followed in an empty underground carpark for a good 15 minutes
well with how uniteds season went i think you had the last laugh lol
Really, there were fights about Liverpool and Man U in Malaysia? That's horrible, but at the same time I have to respect the passion for football in Malaysia. It really is insane (in a good way, mostly)
@@alternatehistorysports it depends on your area, though its more of a gang problem than a football culture problem and most people are usually just giving out banter.
In my case me wearing a liverpool jersey made me stand out as a target since they were thugs who happened to support utd 😂
Liverpool v Everton is the derby.
a 9 11 1 minute of silence was delayed because of fights between watford a luton that is pure hate
Liverpool Man Utd is not a derby. They are an hour apart and are completely different cities. It’s a rivalry game but not a derby
morton v st mirren should be here
id put burnley blackburn in pure hatred.
but for preston blackpool, there were loads of fights at bloomfield road
The Lanclassico is definitely pure hatred
@@ianpilkington2037 when away fans aren't allowed to make their own way to the game it can only be pure hatred. It's probably the English rivalry with the most hatred
@@thetownenders7930 yeah I know, I'm from Burnley, I know all about it
American here, who choose Newcastle as my EPL side in 2006. Watching Sunderland sink lower and lower while having it documented on Netflix has been delicious. That is pure hatred is you ask me!
Hull vs Leeds from a hull perspective, its pure hatred. But Leeds' main rivalry is man utd, not us. It would be a decent watch. Not for the football cos Leeds would wipe the floor with us. But from a fan atmosphere pov, it would be quality. As a teenager when we were both in the championship, it was always the match we looked forward to the most during the season. One memory I have is Leeds having the midday kick off slot on a Saturday and the announcement came through that they'd lost. Everyone in the stand was celebrating that like a city win
Well before watching this we all know the Glasgow one is obv number one but let's see the rest
West Ham spurs deserved a mention. Class probably fair for it. Chelsea spurs is huge. North london derby is the best derby in the country… u have to consider hatred, consistency, similar level teams, things to play for, distance from eachother, high level football, always watchable. Easily the best.
When you say country, you only mean England, right?
A derby is two teams from the same city. Man United vs Liverpool isn’t a derby. It’s a rivalry.
There are regional derbys imo
North West derby
yeah nowadays arsenal vs man united is better to watch than liverpool vs man united
Same thing at the end of the day, although I do think the bigger the distance the less needle there is between fans. A lot of the more remote ones like Palace Brighton are nothing games imo
@@thereinsleep nah I’d say they’re two different things. Man City vs Liverpool is a rivalry, but it’s not a derby.
Pretty late comment bro. Love the videos, massive Swansea fan here. Just to say that Swansea and Cardiff is pure hatred, we hate them and they hate us, it’s the only bubble transport game that I’m aware of in the whole UK… like you must get an official club coach to and from the game there is no other way of getting there. So yeah maybe one above where you put us or maybe even higher 👀 but of course I’ll say that being a Swansea fan😂
u should make one ranking the biggest derbies in europe (Lisboa derby,Milan derby,Madrid derby,El clasico, etc.)
el clasico is not a derby
@@stevenmacdonald229true el clasico is the biggest example of a plastic derby
Honestly you should've seen Elland Road against man U, pure hatred it was so hostile
The last time the 2nd city derby was played a player got assaulted and that player went on to score the winner. Also its only allowed to be played at midday. Proof its the best derby in the world.
Too bad the scum always get battered 🦁
Top 3 in order for me (england) is
1. Southampton Pompey
2. West Ham Millwall
3. Newcastle Sunderland
edit: but seriously tho I just realised smth how taf did he manage to forget exeter v plymouth
i think you should of added huddersfield vs leeds obviously for me its the be all and end all but it is leeds closest rivals i thought it deserved a place
North Lanarkshire derby?
Where is Bolton v Wigan? They rip each other’s stadiums apart and fight constantly for the whole 90 mins.
Mansfield vs Notts County??
Hibs fan only said the Edinburgh derbys a shite watch because they haven’t one a singular derby this season 😂
Top 3:
Old Firm
North London
Sheffield Derby
Bottom 3:
Merseyside Derby
Manchester Derby
Watford-Luton
Lol
North London and Sheffield 😂😂😂you are having a laugh not in the top 20 of Derbys 😂😂😂
You know fuc.all about Derbys Liverpool v Everton sit next together 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Take out Chelsea and West London derbies are actually pretty entertainimg
I’m a Celtic and Liverpool fan. I went to an Edinburgh derby with a mate of mine who supports hibs and fucking hell, has to be pure hatred.
What about Aberdeen vs rangers
Manchester derby around the 2011/2012 season was pure hatred especially with the welcome to Manchester billboard
As a Terror's fan, Decent Watch is a fair spot, you really have to go to one of the games to witness how much we hate each other.
West Ham vs Spurs gets heated at times
the reason why much ManU fans would say they real derby is liverpool and not Leeds is because hey havent really seen the real teams face up eachother back then
im an arsenal fan and the NLD is the best watch ever, from the goals to the history to the old backstory to the fouls to the goals to the fanbases it is so so good. and the only reason i think its better than the Old firm, the Old firm happens like 7 times every season cus Celtic and Rangers dominate Scottish football.
You should rank all the premier league badges?
Here as a Liverpool fan after Merseyside today 😅😭💔
Lincoln Grimsby
Lincoln Scunthorpe
being a kilmarnock fan, the ayrshire derby is good between kilmarnock and ayr united . because we are 1 league apart when we do meet its a good game and it can be abit spicy sometimes. but i know it wont be common to english people.
PNE v B'pool is a really class derby
Burnley vs Blackburn vizeh is pure hatred, my dad has seen people get stabbed and bricked and all sorts over the years. Having to shut motorway off and get more police and shut street near ground. Definitely hatred. NNN SOTB COYC

Watford v luton should be way higher-haven’t played each other with fans for so long
Haven't seen the list truly but I'd agree with the thumbnail Liverpool and Everton, it's not really the best, when Liverpool's squad is fully fit it's mostly a 1 sided game, compare that to Man United, yeah this season's games was heavily 1 sided, but going back to even 19/20 season, they stopped our winning run with a draw
True Liverpool and man united doesn’t feel like a derby as much as it feels like hatred between 2 teams. They arguably have the biggest rivalry of in the world.
And the 20/21 we beat you 2-0 and drew 2-2…
@@Jacob-rx5ot and we had half our starting 11 out for the season so how is that a fair comparison
