Well, that’s where my other videos come in for those installs. I have covered how to install pi hole as well as open media vault. I suggest using docker for these services
Hey, I am not sure what you are referring to exactly, but I use OBS to capture my video and I use my iPhone for capturing the video you see of me and of the laptops. Tiny Pilot captures the laptop video and OBS is capturing that

Don't forget the option in the BIOS for the automatic startup after an error with the power input.
How common is that bios setting? I have never seen it on home grade level motherboards.
@@Techdox on lenovo it's a base feature I guess

Question on running the laptop as server, the battery charger should be plugged in at all times, correct?
Yes, and make sure you have a static IP Address
great and thorough video! thanks for the effort
Thank you!
Might I ask what software you are using for streaming the video? Like you have two monitors capturing your camera

I am thinking of having my 1st home server, from your experience, is it better to have it on a new mini pc or a new laptop?
If you have the choice, a mini PC will do just fine, also depending on the specs.
Either or is perfectly fine for a first home server though
How would you remote access / remote control this server? (like for example, uploading and downloading files from/to it)
Could add a VPN and use that for connecting to your home network

Good question, I don't think so as when I did this video I ended up packing it away as I was in the middle of a move. :)

Writing Ubuntu server to a USB won’t break it unless the usb was already faulty. What makes you think it’s broken?
