The idea of Witchers not having emotions is propaganda by those who fear them. If you study what Witchers go through to become Witchers and to ply their trade, the “lack of emotion” is really the product to PTSD. Is how they emotionally adapt to the horrors they’ve experienced and that they have to deal with once on the path.
What’s great about “wild hunt” is that I read the novels AFTER playing the game, and I had no idea how much lore was packed into the game. The books gave me a deeper appreciation for the game.
The only video I found that actually made everything really understandable for me. I love that your summaries of the games aren't overwhelmingly detailed to the point where nothing makes sense. Other videos gave way too much information for a brief summary to stay coherent. Really appreciate ur work thanks a lot
Was about to start Witcher 3: Wild hunt myself and did not know the backstory as I haven't played any Witcher game ever either. This video explained and helped me alot. Thank you so much!
If anyone needs a giggle, "Jaskier" does not translate to English as "Dandelion"...that was a call made when the novels were translated. Jaskier's name translates as... Buttercup.
I think there’s something weird in the translation, or it isn’t completely direct because Jaskier also translates to Rittersporn in German, which translated again into English is Delphinum, which is another small Yellow flower.
Cookie, this video was amazing. I went into Witcher 3 with zero info. After 10hrs of gameplay, I came across this video, so now I am more immersed into my gameplay.
I am going through the comments to see if anyone appreciated the " Fire nation avatar joke " as much as i did . Didn't find a comment though so i think that i am obliged to drop one myself . Thank you for brightening my day, i bursted out laughing .
thank you so much for this, especially for not speaking or explaining too fast- i've looked for other recaps and english not being my first language, i sometimes get lost or confused through them cause they tend to sound hurried but i managed to understand all of this perfectly :) you're great!
why not listen to recaps in my own language you might ask yourself uhhh... i like playing videogames in english. 🫡 that's all really, so i look for recap stuff in the same language
Thank you for this! I bought the complete edition a year or two ago, tried to get started once, and I just couldn’t cause I don’t understand anything going on lol. Now I’m gonna go start it up 😁
What a gem of a video to stumple on, i was just going to replay the game, and i never knew much about the lore from the first games. This was wery informative and good story telling :)
Thank you for this. I started playing the Witcher 3 but have only watched the shows. I’ve get super confused during the game so I’m excited to give this a watch and feel more caught up
The best part is they are making a complete remake of the first f2 games by combining them I believe and making it a full open world rpg like the Witcher 3
The realities aren’t infinite, or parallel in the sense of ‘multiple almost identical universes’ like something in marvel. There are many worlds, but not in the ‘Geralt from a different universe’.
Really enjoyed the video, but wish you'd make a video discussing some of the choices in the games. Or go with the choices that make up the Witcher 3 non imported save, like letting Letho live
First time Witcher player here! Started today and I was like, maaaaybe I should learn the backstory before this game. This video did just that, thanks!
Never liked witcher franchise but i'll definitely watch this one, as the previous vids of this channel are very nice thanks to the excellent narrator and storytelling
Nice vid :) Though I do wanna point out Geralt regaining his memories (flashbacks) is also very relevant to W3, arguably the most important. Also the Letho battle is totally optional and you can forgive him, which is most likely what book Geralt would do considering the circumstances. Good research in any case!
@@storieswithcookie not to intrude and merely asking, have you got any social media that's affiliated to ur channel? Like a promoting insta page or twitted?
Not exactly. It's more nuanced than that in the books. Their love arguably grows beyond that. Also in W3, there's a quest that lets the player decide if the djinn thing even truly makes a difference.

@@storieswithcookie Yes, i undertand, but i think a brief background story about her would be goos since the 3rd game is all about her.Theres olenty pf usefull info you could give w/o mentioning the 3rd game at all, since to me, thats the most confusing plot point I finished the game like 6 years ago and needed a refresh Thanks
jennifer was said to be beautiful in the series, but honestly. i dont see it. wouldnt even call her average. and the way she got the guy to do the operation was just laughably bad.
Yeah, was looking for the latest news on the upcoming TW1 remake so your vid appeared. Cool info, but it makes me wonder how (and why) many people jumps first and rigth into a game leveled with the number 3 on it and based on a books series? Granted, books aren't a mandatory thing, but games should be a must🤷♂️😒
Was hoping to watch this prior to playing the Witcher 3, but seems like there are spoilers in the video. Defeats the purpose of the "What to know before playing" portion when the current games story is spoiled to the viewer.
Watch a summary of all the Witcher books here! th-cam.com/video/4I1D1YLpe58/w-d-xo.html
I just bought the Witcher 3 Complete Edition with no knowledge of any Witcher stuff and this video really helped me, thanks!
Amazing, glad to hear!
did you enjoyed the game?
Welcome to an amazing immersive world. I was the exact same. I never heard of it until I played it and have been a fan ever since.
Yeah I loved it!@@Supahotfyah
Thanks! I'll think I'll also play Witcher 2 soon!@@nickbriggs8059

So if Withchers can see in the dark with their cat eyes why do I have to drink cat potion to see in the dark? Lol
Good point 😂
Thanks
Wait so the witchers are like Spartans from halo but just with magic instead of technology
Pretty much 😂
he looks more like sekiro in the 2nd game than sekiro himself
Geralt rode with the wild hunt in the past. None of this backstory is in this video
ehhh, I should have watched this. I ended up having letho in my run xD

So... the only reason Geralt and Yennifer are in love is because od a Djins wish?
Yup pretty much!

I dont get why gerald killed the kingslayer
Jaime Lannister?
maybe ull find out if u play the game
You don't have to kill him. It's a player choice and you can forgive him. Geralt, based on his personality in the books, would forgive him too.
22:50 is that Aerondight?
What about Ciri?
