I have had the opportunity of serving the inmates at the Utah State Prison and the Salt Lake County Jail. Previously I thought that jails and prisons were full of "bad people" . I learned that jails and prisons are full of "good people" who have made bad decisions! There are prisons more confining than those made of bars of iron. Most of them want what the rest of us want. "Love, peace, opportunity and hope". Many are finding those blessings through faith in Jesus Christ. His loving arms extend to all of us!
+Stephen Olsen Hey Stephen, thanks for sharing your experiences about serving the inmates at the USS and SLCJ. My family and I are love this video! We often pray for those who are imprisoned and especially those who are falsely imprisoned. We could not imagine our lives without the Saviour even through trials and tribulations...I wish you a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year...regards from Australia....
As I read through the comments, I see some don't fully understand that this 'prisoner' represents all of us, and therein lies the power of the message. We all fall short, and only through relying wholly upon Jesus Christ can we be released from the chains of sin.
Yes!!! When first I learned this....in Polish....as a child, I did not understand that we imprison our selves and are freed through the gift of our Savior. This whole video is so beautifully full of symbolism. I have watched it frequently and at the end, bow my head with tears in my eyes and gratitude in my heart.
Wow! took my breath away.. I started crying when the actor(LDS actor Darin Southon) dropped to his knees to hug his daughters....great video and cool message....
I volunteer at the Southwest Youth Correction every Sunday and Monday night. This Sunday I will show this beautiful video to 10 young men and challenge them to get out and stay out. I know this video will touch them!!
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 27, Christmas 1), we had a Lessons and Carols service. We sang this after the reading of Luke 2:1-7. It is #276 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
This is a beautiful story that hits close to home. I have a brother just recently released and I know his heart and love for our Savior. Yes, he is a good person who made bad decisions. How thankful we are for the gift of our Savior at this time of year.
Beautiful. A story of the Atonement of our Savior. I watch this every day and want to thank our church leaders for the professional videos made available to the world. Such goodness.
Every Christmas season since I found this video, I have to watch it a few times. It touches my heart so profoundly. I usually cry. The music and video convey the depth of our Savior's love so beautifully. I love the Tabernacle Choir and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thank you to the producers of this music and video. Thank you so much.
The tears flow as I view this beautiful video. So much depth of redemption and forgiveness by many, but exclusively bought by the gift of the Savior, the babe of Bethlehem.
What a beautiful video. It depicts transference from prison and hopelessness to freedom surrounded by the love and shelter of his family. Just as our dear Savior comes into our lives, breaks the bonds of sinfulness and hopelessness and leads us to the light and safety of His love. He gives us our life back and leads us to Eternal life, eternal love and forever joy.
I am still watching this video after I discovered it over a month ago. The choir, the orchestra, the video, the song, the message all combine for a perfect and stunning masterpiece. Kudos to all involved.
Wow - I was looking to listen to some different versions of this song because our church choir is singing it again for midnight mass @Christmas this year. I never would have put this song together with this video. It is absolutely touching, beautiful and powerful! I hope I will be able to sing this song and think of the imprisoned not able to be with their loved ones, without breaking into uncontrollable tears as I did watching this video. Yes, Christ the babe was born for us ALL - thanks be to God!
The Great Redeemer will do just that as often as we need him, too. May we all accept his loving invitations and accept the glorious gift of his atoning sacrifice.
Wow. This is Christmas on so many levels. Try watching without getting a lump in your throat. I've loved this arrangement for awhile but the visuals. Wow. Hope Motab does a lot more videos like this.
Until you personally experience God's amazing grace in your life, you have yet to experience the magnificence of Romans 8:38-39. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Such a beautiful video currently working in a place far from my family. We don't have our own house yet and I just ended a really tough day at work. This music is the answer to my prayer asking Heavenly Father for comfort and assurance. This just struck an emotional cord specially at the end when he was finally reunited with his love ones. I know all pain and sufferings are temporary. We may not have our own house at the moment, but someday I know we will live as a family in Our Heavenly Father's eternal home.
I am so grateful for a Savior who is Jesus Christ. He releases me from the grasp of sin. He invites all to come unto Him. What a beautiful video to portray the hope of new life through Jesus Christ!
I love this video and the message it gives. This is such a beautiful and important depiction. I can only hope that my fellow church members can have the same compassion for black and other minority prisoners. Forgiveness is for everyone. Even if they are not visually represented, Their presence on earth is enough to know that the atonement is for them as well and they are jet as much our brothers and sisters as anyone else.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galtians 3:28 there is no such thing as majority or minority in the Church of Christ. He does not define or categorize us with worldly standards or criterions. Likewise as disciples of Christ we should hope for nothing in this world but let our hope rest in Jesus Christ. This world will try to tear you and others down but when you care more about how God thinks about you, NOTHING in this world matters. If race mattered in the gospel Christ would have talked about but He didn't. Instead, He spoke in universal absolutes like "I am the way, the truth, and the light; NO MAN cometh to the father but by me." Or "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
I have the opportunity to work with incarcerated individuals in the prison ministries program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is an amazing experience. The spirit of the Lord is definitely present, it is very strong. It is great opportunity to teach of Christ and the hope he provides all of Heavenly Fathers children. You can see it work, it is not just words but real change in individual lives. I happen to be Mormon, but I know a lot of different faiths are involved in prison ministries. I encourage all to research and find out how you can share your faith in Christ with so many that are looking for Hope. #sharethelovehopefaith
+MrIlnickif I thought they were going to execute him, too. That would be a real downer if it was, lol. They handcuffed him just for safety precautions, I guess.

We all fall short --- yes, sometimes we forget that when we look at others and their failings.

+Lynn Beecher Way to go Lynn.I think that is an outstanding thing that you are doing. So many good works!
Beautiful! I am so grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice everyone of us can be forgiven if we truly repent.
Our prophet Joseph Smith once said that our prisons should be turned into seminaries. Oh how much more blessed that would be.

I love the allegory in this video! This song sings of he who rescues us from the prison of sin and reunites us with our families.
Lord Jesus Your presence Alone gives Peace... its YOU Jesus who can give us Joys... come O Lord and save your people... Come and show your power

This is just one of the most beautiful videos ever, so symbolic of what our Savior Jesus Christ has done for us! FREEDOM! True FREEDOM! #ASaviorIsBorn
That was BEAUTIFUL!!! VERY moving. Thanks.
I can barely get through the piece without wanting to cry. It is purely gorgeous. The strings really amplify the chorus and add something to it.
Watch Ed Mylet and guest Jason on Men crying. Its a good thing

Thanks again for your beautiful music videos, especially the jail/prison one. it brought grateful tears and happiness for a very special person.

Powerful message portrayed in a moving way. How grateful we are for our Savior who saves us. Thank you for this. We shared it with our adult children.
wow this ministered to me so much
What a powerful, bold and beautiful combination of music and video! Thanks, Tabernacle Choir!
brought tears
So hard for me to not cry at some point in the video. This is so touching and beautiful. A message everyone needs to hear and feel. thank you MOTAB
Absolutely beautiful piece of music!
This is so beautiful. It's the true meaning of Christmas.

Dziękuję ! Wow, they are powerful, music & video !!! Thank you for sharing this Polish carol.
I love poetry, and think the change from "all" to "you" in the last lines is wonderful.
Hope for all of us. Because of the Holy Infant. Thankyou !
one of my favorite scriptures is related to this hymn;
1 Ne. 11:26
26 And the angel said unto me again: Look and behold the condescension of God!
This is awesome. Blended well.
I am so grateful for a Savior who is Jesus Christ. He releases me from the grasp of sin. He invites all to come unto Him. What a beautiful video to portray the hope of new life through Jesus Christ!

Wow! VERY powerful!
Beautiful message!
Who was the casting director for this film? Give that person a raise.
Wish I could get on the church website to show in a class. Can I access it besides on u tube.
+Kate Kelson You might be able to access it from here: www.mormontabernaclechoir.org/videos/infant-holy-infant-lowly-music-video.html
+Mormon Tabernacle Choir sadly, the site referenced uses TH-cam as its video player, so its not playable while on the Churches network.
Kate Kelson try downloading?
Most recently TH-cam has been permitted in Restricted Mode on church networks. This is a much appreciated change.
@@StephenGale801 I think you can use you tube now at the church buildings.
💙
I thought they are going to execute him not release. Why he have handcuffs?
+MrIlnickif I thought they were going to execute him, too. That would be a real downer if it was, lol. They handcuffed him just for safety precautions, I guess.
I think to dramatically show the transition from bondage to freedom. Well done.
