57 years ago all four of my immediate family, mother, father, brother and sister died in an air crash. I did not travel with them. This hymn is my favourite, eloquently in words and music, expressing the peace I now feel.

I was feeling lost. During the Christmas season, there is no one. My mother died this year; there is no one. I am a widow; all aunts, uncles, and cousins have passed. I have no children. I felt so sad. Now, it is well with my soul. This performance pulled me right out of the deep black hole. I am alive, and my work continues. The concert was brilliant. ❤❤❤❤❤❤thank you a thousand times.

Stephanie, please try your best to not give into that "alone" feeling. It's only temporary...always a phase and always phases are temporary. You are not ever 100% alone. Jesus does not allow that ever! Talk with others...smile at kind looking little families and children. Go shopping and stroll around but only buy something small for someone else~♡
My Husband passed away five years now . Faith took me to where I am now. Grateful to the mercy and love of God and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ Infinite Atonement that took me to Hope that made all things possible if truly Repent and repent daily through Him all things possible. Hope can heal sorrow souls. It is well It is well with my soul. How I love the Words and Lyrics of this beautiful Rendition.

My husband went to heaven three years ago. He loved this hymn and always had tears rolling down his cheeks, but he did not know the story. I wish we had known it, and he always said he wanted this hymn sung at his funeral. It took me hours to find our CD with this hymn but late at night I found the CD with David Phelps singing! He would have been so pleased. For some reason I have missed him very much today and I came across this video tonight. I can say IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL!
My uncle is leaving soon to be with Jesus forever. My sister just sang this song to him by his beside in the hospital. This hymn has soothed many a grieving soul over the years. It speaks for our hurting hearts when we have no words.

I am in the middle of yet another crippling migraine and the words to this beautiful hymn bring me comfort and peace. I know that my Lord and Saviour suffered much worse pain than I in order to save us all from the ravishes of hell. I raise my head as I listen to this beautiful sacred words and feel God’s amazing strength all around me as I lay in my bed. I’m 72 and Praise The Lord, it is well with my soul.

Almost 3 years ago we lost a daughter. We used this hymn at her memorial service because I knew the story behind the hymn. If someone who just lost daughters like we just lost our one, could write such wonderful words, I had to use it. She is gone but it is well with my soul. Rest in God's arms Tara.

Before my devout Christian Mother passed away in the hospital, she told me everything was gonna be ok. I knew what she meant and I found comfort, even in her passing. A comfort that can only be found in Jesus Christ. I still miss my mother dearly but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt.....IT IS WELL.

One of the absolute finest things to ever air on Television. We were actually there in person on this night. There is such a powerful spirit in this whole story. Truly, out of the ashes and through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can all be healed, reunited, and sealed up in the heavens to our everlasting and Eternal Parents. The storms of life provide the training ground and experience we all need. Every curriculum is tailor-made to suit us to what we each need. God be thanked for the gift of His divine Son!

What a wonderful story of a families faith saving them from pain and giving them the strength and courage to do so much to for others. That it continues today is a a testament to what faith can do, so uplifting and inspiring.
My 2 year old grandson was abducted in 2006 days later his mom my daughter passed away. This song has given me much faith and strength knowing the faith this man had. Everytime I hear this I’m brought to tears. The words are very powerful and restores my strength and faith to continue on and never give up hope my grandson will be recovered.
May God give you strength and some measure of comfort. You grief I cannot even imagine.
I pray your grandson will be reunited with you. Your faith is beautiful.
I pray this as well. He is 18 now, so I pray soon he matures enough to start questioning and searching on his own. The simple genealogy DNA tests are reuniting families again and again, many who were never even aware they had been abducted. I pray your family becomes one them!

When my mom died I picked this Hymn for my mother's funeral. It was a great comfort to my dad & I as He & I put our Faith in joining her Soul in the future Mansion prepared for them in the Kingdom of Heaven.

This song has grounded me through many storms of life. I am so thankful for a heritage of faith that we have in Christ and in the Body of Christ, those who believe in Him. There is no peace, except in Christ. Life is hard. He is faithful.

God! What a flurry of emotions... I couldn't hold back my tears as I listened to the narrator. I didn't even know whether my tears are for the story or the song. I remembered my Dad today and how we lost him. But like this faithful family, I say it's well with my soul
It's one of those rare moments when truly inspiring words spawned from tragic events were given a truly inspiring melody. Even unbelievers who sing this song in church start to cry! The only time that ever happened again was with the theme song to Titanic, people had the same emotional reaction.

I am moved to tears, listening to this, watching it, feeling it, knowing that after losing my son 4 years ago. One of my all time favorite hymns and the words live in my heart and have given me such comfort. To hear Huge Bonneville tell it, was super special. God chose him and his soothing voice to carry this true story to all of us, to remind us that as long as God is within us, our souls will be well.

I was born and raised in Southern Gospel music just like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash . We knew all of the same friends in the industry . But I can say , I have never heard such a choir as '' The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square ! ''.
We all have the freedom to make choices of all sort as we go though our days. My choice is to follow Jesus Christ all the day of my life, asking that he guide me and teach me the best pathway for my life, that he keep a watch over me, protect from evil and grant me His peace. And, that He help me become an instrument through which His Will becomes evident in the things that I think, do and say.
Oh what an amazing comfort Our Lord is when our lives loose it’s footings.

The first time my pastor taught us about Horatio Spafford, I lost it. As a mother to three daughters, the idea of continuing on after something like that seems truly insurmountable. I'm incredibly faithful in my loving God...but I'll admit, that would test it so greatly. More than anything else I could go through. I pray constantly that I will never find myself in a situation like this.
This is an absolute masterpiece. Beautifully written, masterfully orchestrated, the narration is perfect. The actors are absolutely bearing their souls, weeping multiple times. The last verse bringing back all the children is staged so innocently. This is a taste of heaven.
