Glad they are offering less expensive versions of their watches but if almost every reviewer is having trouble with the their pin and collar system, there’s has to be something wrong. Love that strap. Thanks for the great review!
If it’s a common problem then yes, San Martin should most definitely look into it as I had one of their watches before with P&C and it’s was really easy to size 👍👍
That pin and collar situation is very poor. The finishing by San Martin on their case and bezel is exceptional. I did also think the hands were a little too small, they need a little more bulking out
It was extremely disappointing and something I really didn’t expect from SM, especially where I had one of their P&C bracelets before and it was seem less to size. The finishing is definitely 👍👍
Thank you for your review. You must have had plenty of watches with pin and collars or split pins because screws on cheap watches are very new. I got the Steel Dive quartz version as i needed a grab and go and i paid 40 used for it ;) I'm off divers now because I have a lot. Great to see you being a gentleman and not slagging the watch due to the problem with the pins.
No problem man and yes, I’ve had plenty of interactions with pin & collar and even with San Martin, which last time was FAR easier to use. I will never slag off any brand or make click bait videos, like many others do, it’s not me 👍👍
I got a slightly different version of this watch before Christmas, first SM watch I wasn’t happy with. The bracelet was cheap, light and jangly, there wasn’t enough black outline on the hands which created visibility problems and the underside of the lugs were very sharp. After three months of conversations, they supplied a decent single pass canvas which fixed the bracelet issue. Oh, and they lost the watch…
They're ditching the bracelet on more models now. It's much harder to manufacture screw links and the screws and they have some disadvantages as well. While collar pin bracelets feel a little more janky they're pretty durable. My screw link bracelet on an older San Martin while feels really great and sturdy it might be a little "brittle" if it makes sense. I've broken some screws because my watch never leaves my wrist and I'm pretty active and harsh on the watch. It sucks especially because San Martin is kinda greedy on those spare links lol. I have a skinny wrist and even then I just had 3 spare links with the screws. For short: pin bracelets are more cheap to manufacture and maybe a little more durable but then again you don't get the quality feel
I wear mine - Sugess version - on a nice thicc grainy leather strap with orange backing and stitching. Really works with the more orange GMT hand... That yellow really works here. Some people seem shocked at the price but...can't beat a really nice and high quality strap. My Addiesdive 2045 came today as well. Threw it straight on rubber and it looks awesome. Really comfortable for such a chunky piece
That sounds sweet man and yes, I think the strap really works with this one as the GMT hand definitely has more of a yellow tinge. I’m glad you like the Addies mate - enjoy 👍👍
@@WatchtheTimeah man, I can't believe the fit and feel of it... It also didn't drop or gain any time over 24 hours. Absolutely struck lucky with it. Saying that, my little Addies field watch was running well until the cat chinned it..!
I do remember sizing this watch was a pain but once you get it done its actually quite comfortable and sits nicely on my wrist. Love it, have the black dial, applied indices version.
Great review. Shame about the bracelet. My son & I have had trouble with bracelets as well. I know these watches offer a lot for the money. They need to give us bracelets that are easy to adjust. Also, hope they look at the watch strap you put on the watch. This gives it an altogether different personality. Looks great.
Possibly but given the song and dance I had with this link, the time it’s taken and the damage done to different tools, I’m just not prepared to persevere with it. I had a previous bracelet that had P&C from San Martin which worked really well but this one is terrible. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
I picked up the dark green dial with applies indices for a steal. Was on sale for $100. I didn't have any problems with the pin and collar on my bracelet so idk if it's a problem with most of them or you just got unlucky.
I got the budget version, still got the nice green travel case but that pin and collar was absolutely shocking 😢 so bad I had to put it on a Richie sail cloth,I really wanted on the bracelet 🥺
I’m really sorry to hear you had a similar to me mate, I was really hoping it was an isolated incident but based on comments I’m getting, it would appear not. I wanted to keep it on the bracelet also as it’s one I purchased for my collection. At first I was disappointed but I love this yellow strap 👍👍
@@WatchtheTime yeah I still love it that mix between the explorer 2 and the Tudor pro, great cross over 😀got it on a black Richie with orange stitching, about £30 would still rather they'd put push pins in 😭
I sized mine no problem. Just having the right tools, some know how and patience I guess, or I got lucky! Beautiful watch and the one I wear most days.
Purchased this in last Ali sale. Good watch for the price, but bent a couple of pins trying to resize the bracelet. And bracelet OK, but not in SM premium bracket. Heard they now offer this watch on a rubber band, which given the bracelet is probably a better option.
Cronos do a black dial version of this, same fit and finish as SM but has screws in the bracelet so much easier to adjust. There are a ton of replies to this review regarding the awful (i.e. EXTREMELY tight) pin and collar used by SM on this, otherwise, excellent watch. I also have two flieger pilot style watch from cronos, they look really good.
Deal killer for me based on so many people having issues with the pin & collar system. I'd gladly pay more for the bracelet with screws. I have that on another San Martin that I have, and sizing took less than 5 minutes.
I hear you mate and since making this review, I fitted this watch with their Mesh strap and WOW, it takes it to another level (review coming soon). Here’s a link - s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DcR1XY7
Great play on words man, made me chuckle 🤭 I get that the exchange rate in that part of the world makes it a little more difficult to justify and I’m glad you like the strap 👍👍
I have an ADDIESDIVE AD2035 with a movement RONDA 515 GMT and for 57 U$S on AE. Sorry but i dont like the watch Thank you anyway forgive me but i dont want to see the video today.

A black dial version of this watch would be just about perfect!
They also do a black dial mate. If I was you, I’d definitely check it out 👍👍
There is a black dial. As well as orange and dark green.

Sorry to hear about your experience mate. Let’s hope people highlighting these issues allows them the opportunity to improve 👍👍

@K_j_M nice one mate. Cat chinned it, I love it 🤣🤣
Great Review Mate......The Strap Looks Great
Cheers mate. I’m glad you like it. I think it looks like the strap is made for this watch 👍👍
I do remember sizing this watch was a pain but once you get it done its actually quite comfortable and sits nicely on my wrist. Love it, have the black dial, applied indices version.
That’s good to hear mate. I was unable to persevere, as I had broken a few of my own tools, maybe next time I’ll do better 👍👍

I hope that they look at resorting back to the P&C they used a while back as it was much better and easier to deal with. Thanks for watching man 👍👍
Shame about the bracelet mate. Can't you get that stuck tooltip out using a big pair of pliers and then try another link?
Possibly but given the song and dance I had with this link, the time it’s taken and the damage done to different tools, I’m just not prepared to persevere with it. I had a previous bracelet that had P&C from San Martin which worked really well but this one is terrible. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
White GMT with bright GMT hands where born to wear matching NATOs anyway.

I know that yellow strap looks great but 129 Euros???
I know it’s a little steep mate but it’s a really quality strap that will last an awful long time 👍👍
I'd like to try a decent NATO, my Bark & Jack is fraying a bit and that wasn't a lot, £26? But it's not an eBay cheapie either is it?
Step backwards for San Martin with that bracelet. They normally use good quality screws.
You can get the bracelet with the screws if you pay more
I think so too or at least if you want to offer pin & collar, make it easily achievable 👍👍
I sized mine no problem. Just having the right tools, some know how and patience I guess, or I got lucky! Beautiful watch and the one I wear most days.

Tbh I really like SM but premium or not a bracelet shouldn’t be so difficult to size. But as you say, perhaps the rubber strap is a better option 👍👍
I like strap. Where can I buy one ?
Have left a link in the description mate - am glad you like it 👍👍

Ah nice one mate, I’ll have to try one of Cronos versions then, thanks for the recommendation 👍👍
I resized the bracelet in about 15 minutes with no problems at all...
Well done 👍👍

Really nice. Great strap choice. You should keep it.
Cheers mate - I’m glad you like it too 👍👍
👍
I appreciate you watching man 👍👍
I think straps do a lot for a watch, bracelets are cold and tear hairs lol@@WatchtheTime
@scatterbrain9490 very true mate 🤣
Will you 'pin' the comments on the bracelet? Nice strap replacement - but at nz$200 they won't sell too many down here mate. Oh the watch? .. nice.🙃.
Great play on words man, made me chuckle 🤭
