This is flying VFR not IFR. Lots of controlled airspace in Europe and even in uncontrolled space it is good to keep in touch with the FIR as airspace is very busy and they always let you know if there are aircraft close to you
Nice to see long distance Gyro flights, across countries and seas. Nice to see Gyros flown at sensible heights. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. No music would have been fine. Gyro noises are music enough.
😊 beautiful flight ... haven't expected this for crowded Europe as it serms you still have some flexibility in ur route planning. love gyros .... most safe machines for my understanding. Tks for sharing. Greetings ftom Netherlands/Cpt. JR
Hi Philipp, nice to reading you and watching your last vidéo back to Swiss...! Even if autogyre is a fantastic machine, ICP Savannah might be effectively more convenient for such long trips...! Thank you again for sharing and looking forward to watch your next vidéos...Fly safe. Nicolas (young 57 years old trainee from Paris !)
They sure do have to do a lot of radio work over there! But then again I think even a gyro pilot has to be IFR rated and the gyro capable of IFR. Am I correct? In the USA, you can fly VFR and go really far with no radio coms, except at and near the airports themselves. A lot more free over here. Also usually easy to stay out of congested airspace except for around New York city and Washington D.C. and the like. And of course LA and Chicago. Lots of rural areas in the states.
This is VFR not IFR, lots of controlled airspace in Europe. Also very useful to be in touch with the FIR controllers as they always warn you of approaching traffic
Enjoyed your video - I am in the process of getting a Magni M24 and would like to make videos of some of my adventures. Can I ask how you capture your audio? I purchased a GoPro and now need to figure out how to tie in the audio. Thanks!
You need to get a special cable which has a socket for your large headset jack at one end and a split between a large headset jack and a usb C plug at the other. The USB c goes into the GoPro and the large jack goes into your headset port on the M24. You can find them in various places try Sportys pilot shop
Really interesting video, thank you. Can I ask do you require any additional license to fly outside of the Uk? I’m just reading the ppl(G) guidance on the CAA website stating it’s for Uk airspace only. Thank you
Yes as the rotor is not connected to the engine in flight the Gyro is in permanent auto rotation but only for a limited distance called the Glide ratio. But enough to make a safe landing in the event of engine failure as long as forward speed is maintained. You can’t land like a helicopter however you need a forward speed of around 60 mph to land but you can flare so you can land in a very short space 10-20 metres but need 200m minimum to take off
of course the negative things that could happen are always apparent, but its a shame you spend so much time contemplating them, you would get far more enjoyment from the experience if you could pigeon hole these fears, they will never go away hopefully but you waste to much time dwelling on negativity, needlessly i think you will find."".
Good to see a long cross country flight in a Gyroplane. Thank you for your effort in capturing and time in editing the video.
Great video Philip!!! what a tale.... I was at Sion skiing some years ago. Crazy
One of the more enjoyable videos I have seen out of hundreds. Very well done, incredible views, and thank you. Very worthwhile subscription.

Thanks for sharing Philip. That was an excellent flight. I hope you enjoy many more!

Fantastic and usefull video for trainee autogyre pilot. Tank you for sharing and waiting for the next one !!
Hi Nicolas, thanks so much but sadly I sold it yesterday, the hood news is that I am buying an ICP Savannah S and will post vidéos flying with that!

Bonjour Nicolas
Le Savannah est prévu en 2 mois mais je vais certainement mettre des vidéos des mes aventures Savannah sur TH-cam! Bien a vous
Philip
Brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing this! Cheers!
Great video ! it made me dream. Hopefully, I pass my pilot license this year, but your video makes me think about learning to fly the autogyre ...
Very nice ! Thank you for sharing
enjoyed your long flight - very interesting way to travel mate, independent - cheers
More adventures coming soon but this time in an aircraft as I now have a PPL A
Very interesting flight, thanks for sharing.
I visit often Sion, we have friends there …. Very beutifull place to visit !!!
I Hope one day coming from France by myself with a light airplane after my training flight as a student pilot !
Have good luck on the plane
Well done dad I love you
I have a WS trike, I am a huge 103 guy here in the USA. This is the only aircraft that scares me…. Much respect to all Gyrocopte4 Pilots!
Dave what about this plane scares you?
I'm not sure I could handle all that vibration for long. Seems like a lovely way to travel though.

dang! you cut all landings off?!?! they are the most interesting parts .. especially for a gyro :-) nice trip anyway!
Look at some of the other videos, plenty of landings!

Sorry but mine was French Registered so not sure about CAA rules for flying abroad! Also I think rules post Brexit have changed.
It seems like there is a constant stick vibration, how typical is this?
All Gyros have an element of stick vibration unlike planes where you don’t have this but you get used to it !
I made the trip on the Eurostar in 2 hours
Can a gyrocopter or GYRO plane glide without power.?

if you are around, let me know. Greetings from the Black Forest. next place is lahr or kehl. Magnim24

its a shame you are stuck with the one camera angle, cuda been a great video instead of good.
I need to buy at least one more go pro!
Wonderful views, somewhat spoiled by so many "ers", "erms" and "umms". Sorry to point this out but can't you just verbally flow a bit better?

do you have instagram to follow you? Kind regards
