- Apologies for the long upload. It's finals week where I am, so I haven't had much time. Anyways, Expert is... Expert, and Master is included here because Master is only one level here, Bridge Master.
Many people probably knew this, but Super Monkey Ball is not the first game in the series! This is the first Monkey Ball game ever, which is just called "Monkey Ball" and it is an Arcade machine game! Thanks to Demul, which is a Dreamcast/Naomi emulator, I am able to showcase this game. Should be fun! Also, OBS was making the emulator lag, so I used my backup screen recorder for this one.
Essentially, this is the same as Super Monkey Ball, but with slight differences. The worlds and music are drastically different, and Gongon is not in the game at all.

There's something so surreal about this. Compared to Super Monkey Ball, this almost looks like an alpha build.
I was thinking a pilot for a new series.
God knows how many quarters I would've wasted on this had it been at my town's arcade
We have it at a local geeks mania arcade but the banana joystick is super loose and calibration is bad, so it’s unplayable sadly

Recently played and beat this entire thing on an actual arcade cabinet. Never played any Super Monkey Balls.
This game is awesome! Banana controller is nice and the music is super old school arcade like.
I can give you four recommendations for Super Monkey Ball games.
From what I've seen, the first Super game, a GameCube exclusive, seems to be an enhanced port of this game.
The sequel is also of superb quality, building on the concepts established prior, and also further refining the experience. It's also one of a very select few GameCube games to not only have a widescreen mode but to actually implement it properly with all the HUD elements adapted as well (most widescreen modes on GameCube games take the lazier approach of widening the 3D view's FOV and doing absolutely nothing else).
Deluxe, released on the two systems that aren't the GameCube (a series first), combines the prior two games and adds its own splash of all-new levels.
My last rec is Banana Mania, available on modern platforms, which seems to be a modern-day take on the same concept as Deluxe, in that it remakes the stages from 1, 2, and even Deluxe. It's easily the most accessible way to play these games legitimately due to its unique quality of not being two decades old. There have been many games in between, yes, but those are significantly more hit-or-miss and experimental.

This game released in japan on "June 23, 2001". The exact same day as Sonic Adventure 2
So Monkey Ball and Sonic share a birthday, huh.

Deluxe tried to have stage themes alternate every 5 stages, but there weren't enough themes across 1 and 2 to do it for all of Expert, so why not use some of the arcade themes?
they probably didnt want to use them because SMB1 backgrounds are basicly a remake of the arcade ones
The heck were the developers on when making Floor 7 A.K.A Exam-C? And they had the audacity to put it in Super Monkey Ball Jr. lmao. :')
At least in Jr. They nerfed it so that the checkered platforms aren’t so small and made the ending thicker.
@@PokeTube That IS true. Plus, dealing with D-Pad controls, it would be hard trying to make it around those curves.
Try actually playing this level with the banana analog stick. It's made it harder.

They were going to put it in the ds game, but they scrapped it.
Exams A and B are still there tho, just renamed.
Floor 7 is the worst, to this day i have a hard time beating it

I Was Struggling With Expert On Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2
Too bad Full Moon and Sunset never returned in Super. I guess they kind of combined into Monkey Mall, but that's a bit of a stretch.

Are all the arcade levels the same as the console versions?
Quick question, you are almost certainly playing this on an emulator (no judgment), what controller were you using? I know that different ones have different stick sensitivities, normally its minute and doesn't matter but monkey ball is the exception.

How did you have 100 lives in the Monkey Ball arcade? It looks more like SMB 2 and Deluxe where the game allows you to get up to 100 lives by playing it more.
