    I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this video. As previously mentioned I was able to easily replaced my left hand side tail light via the access port however it could have been disastrous as my 10mm socket came off and fell down while tightening the last bolt of the replacement. After intensively studying your video I realise it is easy to get limited access to where the socket fell down under the boot cover. Your video was a life saver as I was thinking I would have to buy another socket set to remove all the trim like in your video.

      Oh, you got lucky it fell in that kind of location you could reach it. 👍

    So today I successfully unbolted and rebolted the right side tail light via the access port which is significantly harder than the left side because the 12v outlet gets in the way of a typical socket ratchet. Also bizarrely once you get your hand in the port it blocks the view so you are working blind unlike the left side.
    My tip is buy yourself a 10mm combination gear spanner. It was like the tool was specifically made for this job.
    So process is unplug the 2 wires for the tail light. Place the gear spanner on the top bolt and slowly unbolt until loose enough to do it by hand. Could use the same tool for the bottom 2 bolts but I switched to a regular socket ratchet.

      🤔 Yeah, that would be the best way to remove them nuts, with as less struggle as possible

    I sure do like this car in the estate version! Too bad we didn't get many or any in the U.S. Nice car!

      You guy's in U.S don't get Mazda wagon's? That's such a waste, wagons got loads more space than sedans

    Thank you very much. Please make a video how to install a backup sensor with rear cam. I have bought this car newly, and I am struggling with the installation of the sensors because I don't have a lot of experience.

      You are welcome. 😅 You perfectly timed this, as we speak, I'm working on installing backup sensors and a rear camera.
      They are a separate system but the result should be kinda the same

    Why did you take the half car apart? There are two detachable "windows" inside (on the liner) behind the lights, on each side. The three screws are just behind them. Your car also has them, it's visible on the video.
    I just replaced the gaskets on the taillights. It took about half an hour.

      😂 I never noticed them, as most of the time I had to take out the rear for some problems.
      I redo this video, as I don't want people dismantle all the rear xD

      Can I ask how you undid the top bolt on the right hand side tail light that has the 12volt outlet in the way?

      You are welcome. 👍 There is a faster way how to remove the taillight, you should have an access panel, but you won't see much.

    Have to change my tail light, had no idea that will have to take apart almost all trunk 🤦‍♂️ i have an issue with trunk not opening some times it opens but 9 kut of 10 times I can't open it do you have any solution for that?

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some people cut out a panel for access where the bolts are so they don't have to take everything apart. But obviously you will ruin the panel.
      Hmm, you should check the mechanism or the button that unlock the trunk. My ''How to remove Tailgate Boot Handle Trim Panel'' video Is showing how to get to internals.

      Hola...con un poco d habilidad o como dice el gran Klaus...no haria falta tanto desarme,agrandas el hueco q hay justo detras y listo y después lo colocas con velcro y solo tardas 1 minuto en sacar piloto

    Wheres the earth lead? I installed led from standard bulds. My side lights work but soon as i break they go off?

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It all depends on what style of connector you got. Some of the bulbs ground in the light fixture itself, some of them have a ground following the wiring.
      Did you check if the led is the same voltage , amp usage as the standard bulb?
      Sounds like grounding / power issue

    This doesn’t look right. Maybe this is a design issue with series 1 but on the series 2 there is an access panel on the side that you take off to get to the globes and the taillight. There is no way you would go through all of this just to change a blown globe. Even in this video I can sort of make out the access panel but can’t be sure.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There is an access panel, though, I couldn't film or make any sense of what I was doing or unplugging.
      I found the panel a few weeks ago when an oil bottle knocked it out. 😂

      @@KlavsX_your video is still invaluable. I had a quick check. The access port is damn tight. The owners manual says to turn anti clockwise to get the socket out but it wouldn’t budge. I may try and disconnect the plug first and get the wiring out of the way. I am hoping there is no top bolt and it is only the 2 bolts on the bottom. Otherwise it’s going to be painful to get a 10mm socket up there.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are 3 nuts together, 2 on the bottom and 1 on the top. Yeah, it is tight and you can't see anything.
      Imagine how much I would be able to show to people if I went through that access port 😅 and tried to film what I was doing.
      That's called mission impossible with unusable footage 😂

      @@KlavsX_so today I got as far as unplugging the 2 light sockets and the 12 volt outlet. But the outlet is still in the way. I can only fit the 10mm socket bit in there and not the socket handle which I will need for leverage. I’m studying your video in slow motion and I think the outlet is removable as I see a tab of some kind. I was working outside and the sun was setting so was forced to plug all the wiring back in. Will try again next weekend. Possible the easier solution is buy a 10mm spanner instead and slowly loosen it then use my fingers.

    • @KlavsX_
      @KlavsX_  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, it is a process and if you never done it before, it will take you time. first time always takes 3 x the amount you are thinking it will take.
      After that, you will be a pro.
      Good luck and hope you can fix , change what you have to do 👍
