hard just to refute what he teaches, since he uses scripture to interpret scripture...always still keeping in mind he is just human like us all and vulnerable to mistakes..
I'm listening. This makes sense in so many ways. I would like to hear your version of how things wrap up, which I understand may make a lot of people uncomfortable.
This sermon blows my mind on my perspective of this passage, is there anymore videos or book resources that anyone could recommend so I can learn more about what was taught here and get away from the “Left Behind” or “Rapture” mindset? Should I research more on the history of the Romans Destroying the Jews during that time period??
Brandon Hoffman yes- read that entire series on the Jewish Roman War- it’s truly MIND-BLOWING- it’s first hand account from Josephus. Also last days madness by Gary DeMar- and Last Days According to Jesus by RC Sproul. But honestly - reading Josephus did it for me. So much fulfilled prophecy in one account- and he was a Jew not a Christian- and it’s not even taught. Blows my mind. This series has been life changing for me.
This series is Amazing. I have been amillennial for about a year now, was premillennialism before, but couldn’t really understand how to answer some questions! Thank u!! Great work 🤗
I have been following Jeff Durbin and his street encounters and now have been marvelled to hear him preaching over Matthew 24 over the series of videos. Because of his love and respect for the work of God i would love you to pass on this message to him so that he might step further into his knowledge regarding the spiritual misconceptions. 1. Satan - The word Satan (Hebrew: יֵצֶר הַרַע ) as it states in Wikipedia is the inclination of mans’ heart desire to do evil things in opposition to the will of God. I will point out three bible clear illustrations. 2. Hell (in its 3 variations)- (/ˈʃiːoʊl/ , /-əl/; Hebrew: שְׁאוֹל ) in Hebrew only means the “place of darkness” where the dead go, throughout the bible this word is used to describe and nothing else. Then the word is translated into Greek (/ˈheɪdiːz/; Greek: ᾍδης ; Ἅιδης ) which has the same conotation of being a place where the dead go/rest. Now the work (/ɡɪˈhɛnə/, /ɡəˈhɛnə/) or Gehinnom (literally translated as "Valley of Hinnom”) was a place at the outskirts of Jerusalem where the Kings would make their sacrifices killing their children (Jeremiah 7:31) and later their enemies of war. There is no hell such as religion created, being the phisical place where the sinner would go to, we only need to understand which of the three words are being used on the text and apply its meaning to the text. In the book of revelation where it says about the “Lake of Fire” read and understand that the words lake of fire is another figure of speech and not a literal place and it simply means what the text says: The second death (Revelation 20:14 "the spiritual death") the one that Jesus conquered on the cross of which has no power of God’s people the church, the bride, the new Jerusalem, etc. The sinners and the non-believers will be going to eternal shame which is also the lake of fire, our spirits will return to God and their spirits will die and will not dwell in the presence of God. The 20 centure idea of hell is the creation of religion to slave peaple into their doctrines creating fear and captivity, which is “satan” the opposite desire of God for our lives. I would love to have an open conversation with brother Jeff Durbin. Above anything else, I would like to say that I appreciate the work God is doing though Jeff bringing understanding of the word of god and freeing God’s people from religion.
@ Brother Jeff -- I appreciate your ministry and commitment to proclaiming the whole counsel of God's Word. Though you may be aware of it, you don't seem to reference that in the Reformed tradition there is a long history of covenantal futurist teaching often referred to as historical premillennialism. Partial preterism (particularly post-millennialism) is not the only optimistic, orthodox eschatological position out there.
Mark 13, Luke 21, Revelation 6, Matthew 24 are parallel passages. Place send them side by side and timeline of events is a perfect match. The pre-tribulation rapture and dispensationalism is a wicked lie.
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, modern Dispensational Theology falls apart, and the pretrib removal of the Church falls with it.
A wicked lie eh? Who sounds like the fundamentalist now brother? You sure it's not just "misinterpretation"? Like calvinism? Eschatology is this: Already but not yet. This idea is all over scripgure: Already but not yet
JPnoobieeiboonPJ - it’s a wicked lie because christians have no clue of the timeline of events during the end times. They will be saying eg that can’t be the antichrist because we haven’t been raptured yet. Or, this can’t be tribulation because we aren’t supposed to go through tribulation. Calvinism is another lie. I’m not a Calvinist.
Matthew 24:4 I’m with ya brother. I hear where your coming from for sure. I’m not a pre-trib rapture guy either. We just tend to divide too much on some of these things- if they have Christ, I have faith they will discern
When it says this generation I believe it is referring to the generation that should see the signs mentioned . And absolutely does refer to his second coming
@@spiritfilled5758 but even Jesus went to the synagogues(church) as we should all do on Saturdays, every sabbath day, the 7th day. He didn't go the first day, Sunday the pagan catholics lords day. Mark 6:1-2
Oh My Brother - I praise God for your diligence and courage - and for this uplifting message - the eagles - yes I watched a documentary about Caesar the other day and they referred to the Roman standards as "Eagles" - Dis waar broer!
Pastors Jeff's message at the beginning, about local churches, is very important, but what if none preach the truths spoken at this sermon, and are all pre-mill dispensationalist?!
I thought that Hal Lindsay said we'd not make it past the 70's in "Late Great Planet Earth"? And FWIW I have seen eagles eating carrion, so whether the word is vultures or eagles they both gather at dead bodies. Now, as to whether the eagles and corpses are literal or symbolic is another discussion.
I came out of the Jehova's Witness "Organisation" but this is also hard for me to grasp.Aren't we suppose to take the day of God Allmighty Judgement literally(Future event)??! Greetings from Germany Brother Jeff..
Thank the Lord he brought you out of the Jehovah's Witnesses. I believe Jeff Durban has it right. When reading the Bible, there are many questions including which we have to ask who the audience was then and how much of it applies to somebody else thousands and thousands of years later. Be very careful. Like the Jehovah's Witnesses, some people in this thread think everything applies to them and the future.
What if this lords day all across America ministers began preaching and proclaiming the crown rights of king Jesus and teaching the disciples that as ambassadors of Christ they are more than conquerors whose responsibility it is to go out and disciple the nations until the knowledge of God covers the earth like the water covers the sea. What if we really started believing that Jesus death on the cross really and truly overcame the world, what would happen, how would that change the way we live? I know I know it’s crazy talk right? But but but it’s kind of like what the Bible says...... sssssshhhhhhhh Don’t tell anyone
Just wish he wouldn't call them Jews. HOI, HOJ, Judahites, Israelites. they aren't all Jews, they may all be of the HOI, but the HOI is never called the HOJ
@@jwtrain the "church" has decided to comform to the things of this world- Romans 12:2 "dont follow the patterns of this world" but unfortunately these demons... 2 Timothy 4:1 "last days will be taught by demons" have decided to make the "church" a business... A "corporation" THEREFORE that "corporation" is legally entitled to GROUP LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES on its staff & church members including children.... I'm just saying
All these things are >. It's all throughout the scripture- the ''already but not yet' indications. A lot of scripture has a depth to it we can spend a lifetime digging into. All of this has happened but it is also still to come.
The next Sabbath cycle (2024-2031) is the 70th week IF the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 Middle East nuclear war comes by 2022. By the way, Jesus's words in Matthew highlighting the "birth pains" (signs in the heavens, earthquakes in ALL places, etc.) refers directly to the start of planet Wormwood's passing in seal 6 of Revelation.
Question to Pastor Jeff (or anyone who can answer), if I can't have you as my pastor (I am in CA), who would you suggest as an equally capable substitute in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Calabasas, Woodland Hills area? I have been contemplating Grace To You in Sun Valley, but pastor J. Macarthur's sermon on this chapter wasn't in agreement with yours.
You shall not agree with any pastors 100% of the time. The most important thing to do is find a church that teaches God's word correctly and that leads you to holiness. So just because JMac is a dipsy, that does not mean you should stay away from Grace To You. I do not believe in infant baptism but that does not mean I cannot learn from great ministers like RC Sproul.
@@Ironica82 Did I say I am looking for agreement? No. So why do you bring it up? I am looking for a church that teaches God's word correctly. J. Macarthur's sermon on this particular chapter was, according to Jeff, incorrectly explained. You seem to misunderstand my question. Do you know of a church with Jeff type of pastor in my area or not? Here in California you can find churches with women pastors or churches where gay marriages are welcomed. I don't know, maybe where you live you have lots of choices for Bible based churches that teach like Jeff and fight for babies' lifes, but where I live, they are hard to come by. I was raised an atheist believing in Communism. I don't want to join a church that misleads, that takes advantage of my lack of Biblical knowledge. I don't want to just go to any church.
The Roman standards were called 'Aquilae' or eagles, and were greatly revered or sometimes even worshipped. On the top of every one there was a gold eagle, representing Jupiter. The Aquila, with wings raised in menacing dominance, would sit, perched upon a bundle of THUNDERBOLTS, another symbol of Jupiter. Amazing how God can even use pagan symbols.
I believe in a lot of what Jeff said I'm just having a hard time seeing how if Jesus is currently reigning in areas such as the US where the gospel is wide spread and freely worshiped why do we still have misery? If there is a place that the Lord reigns it's in us through the Holy Spirit. Jeff makes it sound that the gifts of the spirit were only poured out during Pentecost, but what about these times? What is first shall be last and last shall be first, what if the Lord is pouring out His Spirit in ways we can't imagine now because we are in the last days? How do I explain to my rational mind the outer/inner body experience I had at my baptism 14 years ago and since then have been under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit?
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 Jesus lives Jesus Christ is Lord Jesus loves you repent You're a sinner in need of a Savior
Is there a way to watch these without commercial interruptions every few minutes??? I get so into the message and them BAM! commercial. And they happen so frequently it almost frustrates me to the point of turning it off! I know that's terrible.... but it's very annoying. LOL
In relation to Mt. 24:27-44 is Paul only talking to the Jews and/or Greeks of "that generation" in Thessaloniki about the Lords "parousias" coming? Is this pretaining to just 70AD or a future event that has yet to happen? According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming "parousias" of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thess. 4:5-18 Concerning the coming "parousias" of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us-whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter-asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming "parousias". The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. 2 Thess.
Olivet Timing Revealed by Luke’s Gospel: Compare Luke's Gospel to that of Matthew if you want to understand the timing. Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple (These subtitles are found in e-Sword.) Luk 21:5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, Luk 21:6 "These things which you see-the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down." (Mat 24:2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down." ) Luk 21:7 So they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?" (Mat 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?") ( Mar 13:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, Mar 13:4 "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?") Luk 21:8 And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them. (Mat 24:5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. ) Luk 21:9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately." (Mat 24:6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.) Jesus Foretells Wars and Persecution Luk 21:10 Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. (Mat 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. ) Luk 21:11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. (Mat 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. ) Luk 21:12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. (Mat 24:9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.) (Read Acts 22:19-20, where Paul reveals that he fulfilled this text.) Luk 21:13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Luk 21:14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; Luk 21:15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. Luk 21:16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. Luk 21:17 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. (Mat 24:10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. ) Luk 21:18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. Luk 21:19 By your patience possess your souls. (Mat 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.) Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem Luk 21:20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. (Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), Luk 21:21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. (Mat 24:16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.) Luk 21:22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Luk 21:23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. (Mat 24:19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! ) Luk 21:24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Almost all Bible scholars agree that the first part of the verse above is about 70 AD. At the end of the verse we find a period of time known as “the times of the Gentiles”. In the verses that follow we find the future Second Coming of Christ.) The Coming of the Son of Man Luk 21:25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; (Mat 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.) Luk 21:26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Luk 21:27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.) Luk 21:28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." (Mat 24:33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors!)
If the Olivet Discourse is talking directly about the generation of that time, did Jesus already come on the clouds and gather his elect after the tribulation of "those days"? If so was it just the "elect of those days"? If not than how could Jesus be speaking about just that period in time and not a future event?
Just some food for thought... We must after all this turn our attention to those scriptures also which forbid our belief in such a resurrection as is held by your Animalists (for I will not call them Spiritualists), that it is either to be assumed as taking place now, as soon as men come to the knowledge of the truth, or else that it is accomplished immediately after their departure from this life. Now, forasmuch as the seasons of our entire hope have been fixed in the Holy Scripture, and since we are not permitted to place the accomplishment thereof, as I apprehend, previous to Christ's coming, our prayers are directed towards the end of this world, to the passing away thereof at the great day of the Lord--of His wrath and vengeance--the last day, which is hidden (from all), and known to none but the Father, although announced beforehand by signs and wonders, and the dissolution of the elements, and the conflicts of nations. I would turn out the words of the prophets, if the Lord Himself had said nothing (except that prophecies were the Lord's own word); but it is more to my purpose that He by His own mouth confirms their statement. Being questioned by His disciples when those things were to come to pass which He had just been uttering about the destruction of the temple, He discourses to them first of the order of Jewish events until the overthrow of Jerusalem, and then of such as concerned all nations up to the very end of the world. For after He had declared that "Jerusalem was to be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles should be fulfilled,"--meaning, of course, those which were to be chosen of God, and gathered in with the remnant of Israel--He then goes on to proclaim, against this world and dispensation (even as Joel had done, and Daniel, and all the prophets with one consent), that "there should be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars, distress of nations with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring, men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth." "For," says He, "the powers of heaven shall be shaken; and then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh." He spake of its "drawing nigh," not of its being present already; and of "those things beginning to come to pass," not of their having happened: because when they have come to pass, then our redemption shall be at hand, which is said to be approaching up to that time, raising and exciting our minds to what is then the proximate harvest of our hope. He immediately annexes a parable of this in "the trees which are tenderly sprouting into a flower-stalk, and then developing the flower, which is the precursor of the fruit." "So likewise ye," (He adds), "when ye shall see all these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand." "Watch ye, therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all those things, and to stand before the Son of man;" that is, no doubt, at the resurrection, after all these things have been previously transacted. Therefore, although there is a sprouting in the acknowledgment of all this mystery, yet it is only in the actual presence of the Lord that the flower is developed and the fruit borne. Who is it then, that has aroused the Lord, now at God's right hand so unseasonably and with such severity "shake terribly" (as Isaiah expresses it ("that earth," which, I suppose, is as yet unshattered? Who has thus early put "Christ's enemies beneath His feet" (to use the lan-guage of David), making Him more hurried than the Father, whilst every crowd in our popular assemblies is still with shouts consigning "the Christians to the lions?" Who has yet beheld Jesus descending from heaven in like manner as the apostles saw Him ascend, according to the appointment of the two angels? Up to the present moment they have not, tribe by tribe, smitten their breasts, looking on Him whom they pierced. No one has as yet fallen in with Elias; no one has as yet escaped from Antichrist; no one has as yet had to bewail the downfall of Babylon. And is there now anybody who has risen again, except the heretic? He, of course, has already quitted the grave of his own corpse--although he is even now liable to fevers and ulcers; he, too, has already trodden down his enemies--although he has even now to struggle with the powers of the world. And as a matter of course, he is already a king--although he even now owes to Caesar the things which are Caesar's. ~ EARLY CHURCH FATHER: TERTULLIAN(c.155 - c.225AD), ON THE RESURRECTION OF THE FLESH. I recently came across something that is bothersome. I found a quote in the Egyptian Book of The Heavenly Cow that mirrors a verse in Exodus. Ra is quoted saying "I am who I am, I will not let them take action". This Book supposedly predates the book of Exodus. Biblically speaking I know that the Israelites were in Egypt for 400 years and Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the egyptians. Do you think that the Israelites borrowed this concept from Egypt? Please let me know what you think if you have time. I am tired of being confused
Just a slight correction bro...they werent enslaved by Eygpt for 400 years, they spent 40 years in Egypt as slaves...but the remaining time without a land of their own...
Joseph Chambers - even if this is true - did Ra rise from the dead, fulfil hundreds of prophecies and is he loved and worshipped by millions of people today? Do you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? Did the Egyptian Book make predictions like this? His Words Would Be Everlasting Jesus made the astounding prediction that "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away" (Matthew 24:35). He predicted that His words would be everlasting. Here was a man who lived in the first century A.D. with only a small group of followers, and His country was subject to the bondage of Rome. There were no modern means of mass communication or storage of a persons words, Yet Jesus made the statement that His words were eternal - they will never pass away. Although it seemed improbable at the time, it has occurred exactly as He predicted. The words of Jesus are still with us today, read and believed by untold millions. It has happened just as He said. In 538 B.C. Daniel wrote the following bold prediction: "So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks of years and sixty-two weeks of years" (Daniel 9:25). In this prophecy, Daniel is claiming that there will be 69 weeks of years between the issuing of a decree to rebuild Jerusalem and the appearance of the Messiah. Now keep in mind that this bold prediction came 538 years before Christ was born. Now let's investigate a little history, OK? In 464 BC, Artaxerxes, a Persian king, ascended to the throne. His twentieth year as king would be 464 BC. Nehemiah, the Jewish cupbearer to King Artaxerxes, was deeply concerned with the reports about the ruined condition of Jerusalem which came about as the result of their being defeated (Nehemiah 1:1-4) and as a result, he petitioned the king: "Send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it. So it pleased the king to send me" (Nehemiah 2:5-6). Scripture then provides us with the exact date of this decree to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem. According to the Scriptures the decree is issued "in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king" (Nehemiah 2:1). The Jewish calendar month was Nisan, and since no day is given, it is reasonable to assume that the date would be understood as the first, the Jewish New Year's Day. And, in the Julian calendar we presently use, the corresponding date would be March 5, 444 B.C. This was the day on which the decree was issued to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. Now let's remember this date, March 5, 444 B.C. and take a look at the appearance of the Messiah. You may recall that the Gospels tell us that Jesus, on numerous occasions, had forbidden his followers to make him known as "the Messiah". He would frequently do miracles and tell the disciples not to tell anyone who had done the miracles because his "hour has not yet come" (John 2:4, 7:6). However, on March 30, 33 A.D., when he entered Jerusalem on a donkey, he rebuked the Pharisees' protest and encouraged the whole multitude of his disciples as they shouted, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord". And Jesus said, "If these become silent, the stones will cry out" (Luke 19:38-40). This was the day on which Jesus was publicly declared the Messiah. Now let's compare the date of the decree (March 5, 444 BC) with the date of Jesus' declaration (March 30, 33 AD). Now before we begin, we need to clarify the fact that the Jewish prophetic year was composed of twelve 30 day months. In other words, the ancient evidence indicates that the Jewish prophetic year had 360 days, not 365 days. Since Daniel states 69 weeks of seven years each, and each year has 360 days, the equation is as follows: 69 x 7 x 360 = 173,880 days. In nothing more than a simple mathematical demonstration, the number of days in the period from March 5, 444 B.C. (the twentieth year of Artaxerxes) to March 30, 33 A.D. (the day Jesus entered Jerusalem on the donkey) can be determined at this point. The time span from 444 B.C. to 33 A.D. is 476 years (remember that 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. is only one year). And if we multiply 476 years x 365.2421879 days per year (corrected for leap years), we get the result of 173,855 days. Now let's add back the difference between March 5 and March 30 (25 days). What is our total? You guessed it, 173,880 days, exactly as Daniel predicted.
I'm am feeling a bit unoriented...lol. but it does change my thoughts and understanding a bit. But what I did see, is that Bible that Jeffery Rice did! Lol.
Depends on your view, but I would say we are. Jeff would likely say not yet, but the Millennium will look different than the literal, Jerusalem-based kingdom that most Premillennialists would believe in. The Postmillennial position (Jeff's) believes that Christ is reigning now and that He will continue to expand His church and its influence throughout all the nations of the earth until a golden age of Christian influence arrives (Millennium). I am not sure I necessarily am on board with that at the moment, but I am certainly open to it. Lions are man eaters until the final restoration, which occurs in the New Earth. 1 Thess 4:17 says that when Christ returns, the dead in Christ will be raised, and along with those who are alive, they will "always be with the Lord." Romans 8:19-24 says that Creation is groaning under the curse and awaiting our glorification. Revelation 22:3 says that the curse is lifted in the New Earth (Isaiah 65 as well), not during a Millennium, so lions still being "man eaters" doesn't really mean anything. The only passage in all of Scripture that refers to a Millennium is Revelation 20, which is one of the most symbolic passages in the entire Bible. Unless you take that passage literally, you will not find references to it elsewhere in Scripture.
You have to include Matthew Chapter 24 Verse 32 & 33 to get the correct timing of this prophcie..... Matthew 24:32 Now learn the parable of the fig tree. When his branches is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves ye know summer is near. 33: So likewise ye, when you shall see all these things know that it is near even at the door. PREDERISUM VIEW DOES'NT INCLUDE THE WHOLE SCRIPTURE.. They start reading at verse 34 This generation. But scripture says it is the generation of the fig tree
Miss understood - Exactly: Read this: ✅ IMPORTANT! have you guys ever heard of multi-layered prophecy? Multiple fulfillments? Final Fulfillment? New Heaven New Earth come after final fulfillment. There are endless Millennial Kingdom verses from OT that are not fulfilled yet. Caesar was a type of antichrist. Satan has raised up MANY antichrists, none of them have been THE FINAL Antichrist, The MAN of SIN, Son of Perdition. Wake up. Calvinism is a damnable heresy. I pray this helps you guys in Jesus name. Ps- take a look around the world. The entire world is groaning in travail! This Pastor wants to deceive you into thinking its all nonsense. You will see. The “Jewish Messiah” they are prepping for and Temple Coins and rebuilding of the Temple are happening already. Prophecy is fulfilling by the second. The TRUE Antichrist is an Assyrian Jew! Is Nero an Assyrian Jew? NO.
Who was prophecied to be sent in the last days? The Two Witnesses. That generation is theirs. Yahshua said that generation will be like that of Noah. 120 years.
Cheeky Nonconformist this is the most muddled teaching of Matt. 24 I have ever heard. Jeff Durbin is complicating the issue, not bringing clarity. By all means clarify your statement. At the 29 min mark (which I already heard) he quoted Gill who stated that Matt. 24 is not concerning the 2nd Advent. Thus my initial questions?
Jeff have you seen what is taken out of esv and the words they swap. I only like kjv and the nkjv replaces damnation with judgment but last time I checked we are all judged but not damned. I'd like a reply I'll be looking for the name. If kjv didn't use eagle I would have thrown it away. Why, well Jesus wouldn't change eagle to vulture because then there is symbolic terms being used. To change this is to alter prophecy and to confuse the babes.
I have to disagree there are verses just ripped out of esv look them up. Now even take your nkjv for instance and go to gen 12 6-7 and tell me what it should say. Do you know hebrew better than Paul if so go look at gal 3:16 only use nkjv. You see test scripture with scripture. Not to honor these points is to say God dosnt have a true word. And jeff I still didn't hear from you. These guys are nice but you claim these different text are good to use. I used niv first time I read Bible and man did I have the wrong gospel and still read the kjv and say now that makes more sense. Just know the Muslims say the same thing that these things don't matter but in fact I believe the kjv is the one true translation and it says seed not seeds witch is correct in gal 3:16 for your verse in gen 12 6-7. And note one more thing. The Bible says test the spirits. Just because I make a new book that is easier dosnt make it right and the nkjv is harder to read look at song of solomon chapter 3 verse 9 in the Nkjv not kjv and tell me what's a palanquin. The kjv says horse and chariot. Just know I love you I care for you but if anyone comes preaching any other gospel but the gospel it is a curse. Look at Romans 13: 2 and notice kjv says damnation and the new king James says judgment. Do we all get damnation? Or do we all get judgment. We all even ones who go to heaven will be judge but are ye damned.
I’ve visited this church once. The acoustics are terrible in that room - you would probably shout too - or no one would hear you. Glad that it’s recorded well at least
Sorry this is NOT clear. Will Christ physically return to earth, and will believers receive physically resurrected flesh bodies or is he saying it's not to be taken literally but spiritually? Did Christ NOT ascend up into heaven? Those watching where told in the sane way He went up we will see Him return .
Yes. Yes. Yes He did. He’s coming back to judge the quick (alive) and the dead, the righteous to be raised to everlasting life with Him in a perfected body; the unrighteous to eternal punishment as Satan and his angels are thrown into the lake of fire. The Rapture is us (dead saints and those of us alive at His return) being drawn up into the clouds to meet Him and to march back into His creation as victor - all in the blink of an eye. Not after a 1,000 year delay.
@Captain Blamo Good to hear that you found a good church. Once people are spiritually abused by "Christian" leaders, one tends to not trust Christian leaders.
The events of 70 AD are divided from the future within Luke 21:24. The first part of the verse is about 70 AD. At the end of the verse we find a reference to the times of the Gentiles. Paul makes reference to the same time period in Romans 11:25. The future Second Coming of Christ is found in Luke 21:25-28, after the times of the Gentiles is completed (fulfilled). Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Act 28:28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Christ was most certainly a "Partial-Preterist" in the Olivet Discourse. A person cannot be a "Partial-Preterist" without also being a "Partial-Futurist". Jeff has gone to far in the preterist direction. Look at Revelation chapter 6, based on the fact that the Book of Revelation is not in chronological order. At the end of chapter 6 we find those hiding from the wrath of the Lamb. Some of the same characters, are found later at the battle of Armageddon. Why would they be hiding from the wrath of the Lamb unless the Lamb is present during that period of time. The Second Coming is also found in the 7th trumpet, and the time of the judgment of the dead in Revelation 11:15-18. Has the time of the judgment of the dead already occurred? See Christ's description of the event in John 5:27-30, and Paul's timing in 2 Timothy 4:1. .
@@dansharits1525 Did Christ cast out devils during His earthly ministry? If He did, what does the first verse below say? How is it related to the second verse? Luk_11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Luke 21:5-7 -- "When will the Temple be destroyed?" Luke 21:8-11 -- Signs of false christs, wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and great signs from heaven. Luke 21:12a -- *But before all these things...* Luke 21:12b-24 -- The destruction of the Temple (the answer to v. 7), Jews led away captive into all nations, trodden down by Gentiles *until* times of the Gentiles fulfilled (cf. Acts 15:14-16). Luke 21:25-27 -- Signs in sun, moon, and stars (great signs from heaven first addressed in v. 11) and the Second Coming. Luke 21:29-32 -- The buds on the trees are signs. The generation that sees the signs is the generation that will witness the Second Coming. When you see false christs, wars, earthquakes, famines, diseases, as well as celestial upheaval, you know that the parousia is to *immediately* follow (cf. Matthew 24:29-31).
The only way to make Luke 21:20-23 the same event as Matthew 24:15-20 is to ignore the outcome of each event. Compare Luke 21:24 with Matthew 24:29-31.
Dear freind be careful with this text !!! Jesus said the star's will fall to the earth in tribulation and the moon shall not give her light the heaven opened like a scroll !!! What is this ? The heaven parting like a scroll ? Brother could it be that God is turning out the lights for His spectacular show of himself...just like a Hollywood stage !! This is literally going to happen!! His second coming will be the greatest show on EARTH !! Do you take this matter lightly...you my freind must be careful you are not making a serious event like this all metaphors !!
Marvin Hesler You should probably get a book on hermeneutics and then you should also study the old testament passages that speak of the sun moon and stars so that you can allow scripture to interpret scripture, whatever it means in the old testament is what it means in the New Testament that’s why Jesus is referencing it
Matthew 24:34 -- "he genea haute" (this generation) will not pass away until "all these things" have come to pass. "Haute" (this) refers to the antecedent, the last thing mentioned, which is the budding of the fig tree. "This generation," the one that sees the budding of the fig tree (as well as the other signs given in the passage -- "when you see all these things") is the generation that will not pass away until all these things are accomplished, which includes the coming of the Son of Man (vv. 29-31). Jesus was not saying the generation of the Apostles; He was saying the generation that sees all the signs culminate will be the generation that sees the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory -- the Second Coming.
In Matt 23 Jesus said, “from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’” Clearly, Jesus’ return will not take place until, as Paul puts it, “all Israel will be saved,” therefore, the nation of Israel is still God’s special people today and very much a part of God’s plans for the future.
@@gregjay9933 Greg, God bless you brother. I would challenge you to watch as many of these Apologia sermons from Revelation as possible. There are at least a dozen from this year. He lays it all out in depth.
Greg Jay - Israel hasn't been 'replaced' by the church...Israel has always BEEN the church!! Those that placed their faith in the LORD. Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the _church in the wilderness_ with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: So when the nation of Israel rejected their saviour, they ceased to be those who believe in the LORD. They became the enemies of God. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. If they have not the Father, they are not the Children of God..are they? Now, as Romans 11 describes, IF THEY REPENT and turn to Christ, they can be GRAFTED IN AGAIN! Grafted in AGAIN? Grafted into what? ISRAEL!! THE TRUE ISRAEL. Those that BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus! 23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, ... What's the OLIVE TREE? Jeremiah 11:15-17 says that Israel is the olive tree. SO... if unbelieving Jews have to get saved to be grafted BACK into the Olive Tree....what does that mean? That Israel, God's Israel, is made of ALL AND ONLY BELIEVERS!
Greg Jay - Israel will be blinded right to the very end. They will see when God has finished pouring out his wrath and Jesus starts his millennial reign. Let's look at the scriptures. Romans 11:25- 26. “For I would not brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, UNTIL the fullness of the gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved. As it is written, there shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” People will say blindness is only happened to Israel UNTIL the fullness of the gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved.” And they say right there, “that shows that the blindness is temporary because once the fullness is COME IN, Israel is no longer going to be blinded. And they will say “that’s when the church age is over, and He ceases to deal with the gentiles and he starts dealing with Israel again.” I am going to show you just how unbiblical this is. The key is to figure out 'WHEN the time of the Gentiles will be fulfilled' because the bible says that blindness is happened unto Israel, UNTIL the fullness of the gentiles be come in. So the key is to figure when the time of the Gentiles will be fulfilled and this event is only mentioned in a few verses. Luke 21:24 - "And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations, and JERUSALEM shall be trodden down of the gentiles until the times of the gentiles be fulfilled”. I want you to make note of that, that Jerusalem is trodden down of the gentiles, until the times of the gentiles be fulfilled. Revelation 11:2 - "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not, for it is given unto the GENTILES, and the holy city shall they TREAD UNDER FOOT" (same wording as Luke 21), "forty and two months, and I will give power unto my two witnesses.” So when is the time of the gentiles fulfilled, or the fullness of the gentiles come in? According to scripture, it’s AFTER Jerusalem has been trodden under foot for 42 months (3.5 years). That would put it three and a half years AFTER the abomination of Desolation. And that would basically put it at the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ, because the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the midst of Daniel’s 70th week. That’s when Jerusalem is going to be destroyed and trodden under foot. 42 months later, we have Jesus Christ setting up his kingdom on earth in the millennium. That’s the “when” of Romans 11:25 and 26. If we go back to Romans 11:25-26 with that in mind... It says “For I would not brethren that ye should be ignorant of this mystery lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened unto Israel, UNTIL the fullness of the gentiles be come in”, when is that? 42 months after the Abomination of Desolation, the beginning of the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. Listen to the next verse. “And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, there shall come out of Zion the deliverer and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.” So when is it that Israel is no longer going to be blind, and all Israel is going to be saved? It’s in the millennial reign of Jesus Christ, because when Jesus Christ physically returns to this earth and sets up his kingdom and is ruling and reigning from Zion, from Jerusalem. At THAT time, Israel will no longer be blinded, they will all be saved. Why? Because of all of unbelieving Israel will have already been WIPED OUT. They’re going to have been destroyed by Gods wrath. So it’s not that in the end times all of the unsaved unbelieving Israelites are all going to turn to Jesus Christ. That’s not what the Bible is teaching. What it’s actually teaching is that in the millennial reign of Christ, all of the unbelievers of Israel will have been WIPED OUT, and at that time, all Israel shall be saved, there’ll be no more ungodliness in Jacob. There will be no blindness upon the children of Israel, because it will only be saved Israel that’s there. That’s the only way all Israel can be saved. I have heard some people say “every single Israelite will just turn to Christ at that point!” That’s not even biblical salvation, because biblical salvation involves our free will. People don’t just automatically get saved because of their nationality, “they just happen to be a Jew during the end times so they automatically get saved when Christ comes...” That’s not how salvation works. All Israel shall be saved, because they’re not all Israel which are of Israel, and this is talking about the true saved Israel that’s going to inherit the kingdom in the millennium. The millennium is going to be a kingdom that’s ruled and reigned over by Christians, by believers. But, of course there have been lots of saved Jews, and saved Israelites through the years, and they will be a part of that kingdom. But this is not teaching that somehow before that the Jews are going to turn unto Christ. No, this is talking about at the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ, and that’s because unbelieving Israel will have been wiped out, so all Israel shall be saved. The time of the Gentiles will be fulfilled when Jesus sets up his millennial kingdom on earth.
@@jpnoobieeiboonpj858 I have a pretty good MacArthur study Bible, I use that pretty frequently, as well as word pictures, and interlinere and concordance, I'm not familiar with this guy, I'll have to see what hes about
Pastor Jeff, for all your passion and effort, you are committing the same errors in exegesis as the dispensationalists. You have a set theological system in place and you're trying to manipulate terms and phrases to fit your understanding of eschatology (jumping through some big hoops!). You use double-speak in your interpretation all through-out this message. Matt. 24:27 You initially say the Son of Man is the one coming from the east to the West but then you do some juggling to miss-identify the Romans as coming from East to the West. So what is it? The Son of Man or the Romans? You did it again in Hosea 8:1 While reading from the ESV (WHY?) you identify the one coming against Israel for judgement as "He," where in the the verse and Hebrew it is clearly not the Lord but as correctly interpreted by the NASB as "the enemy," i.e., the Assyrians. This sort of "Biblical" interpretation is best described as eisegesis. And what's worse is the danger your doing as a teacher to others and yourself (James 3:1).
It all feeds into their worldly " I'm so special" vibe. Not a "special through Christ" vibe but reeks of arrogance. Vanity tends to plague them in my experience. God does not pre-ordain evil
The Bible says we're ALL equal in the eyes of God. Neither Jew nor Gentile. All who follow Christ Jesus are the seed of Abraham. We're ALL descended from Adam and Eve. One race different tribes. Stop with the preferential treatment, good news , the Gospel.
Yes... Jesus uses prophetic language that hearkens back to the prophets but when dealing with the context of the Olivet Discourse the judgment of Israel at the time was not the focus of that chapter it was the Messianic prophetic language of the RETURN of Yahweh as King Messiah - literally when "... the end will come." You address the hyperbole of lightning that comes from the East and the eagles feeding on the carcass but totally ignore the very next verse: 30 “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. 31 “And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. New American Standard Bible: 1995 update. (1995). (Mt 24:30-31). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation. Is that also hyperbole? The text is absent of any literary pause between verses 29 and 30. The scope of the prophecy is there and is just as much a part of the Scripture as is the prophetic language used for a time of judgment. But not just any time but a Great Tribulation as has not been seen nor will be seen. The scope of the sign of the RETURN OF THE SON OF MAN ON THE CLOUDS as the conquering and triumphant King whose garment is stained with the blood of his enemies, THAT is the focus of the discourse. I know what happened in 70 AD was severe but was it really the Great Tribulation that Jesus said would come? Yes, Jerusalem is judged but if you think the Jews of that time are the only covenant-breakers you have not been paying attention to the Church throughout her history. For instance when they preached Luther's anti-Semitic "theology" from their pulpits and sang louder in their pews on Sunday in Poland and Germany to drown out the sound of Jews being delivered in trains to Nazi genocide. Or was that also another "return" of a judgment of God on the "covenant breakers"? Be careful... the same Paul you mention warns us in Romans 11 that if God didn't spare the natural branches to graft us in as wild branches and we look at them and brag of our position in their place... we too can be replaced and the natural branches restored.
Joseph Horta I’m not going to do your home work for you read the texts yourself. I recommend the following: The Church is Israel now. Joshua Brooks he's restricting the interpretation of the prophecy to the 69-79AD destruction of Jerusalem. It is true that Matthew 24 saw a partial fulfillment at this time, but some things apply specifically to the future coming of Christ: as well as other aspects within the prophecy--which await a second (and final) fulfillment. Apparently Mr. Durbin is under the impression that we are in the millennium now! Frankly speaking, this is impossible.
Matthew Murphy Rose Thanks for sharing that. As it pertains specifically to Matthew 24, what specific verse in that chapter would you point to to show that it was not referring to that time period?
Joshua Brooks, Matt.23:3 applies to both the destruction of the Temple in 70AD and the destruction of the future Temple which will be defiled by the Antichrist. Furthermore, the phrases, "the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world" apply specifically to the *still* future 2nd coming of Christ. Matt. 24:5-14 are continuing to be fulfilled--century after century beyond the initial (and partial) fulfillment of A.D. 70. Matt. 24:15 has a typological fulfillment in 70 A.D. (as well as a prophetic type in Antiochus Epiphanies). The Church awaits the future fulfillment; which is also spoken of in Dan.9, Isa.14:13 and II Thess.2:3-5. Matt. 24:16-26 also contains much language which can and will apply to events and situations which will precede the 2nd coming of Christ (notwithstanding the initial fulfillment in A.D. 70). Matt.24:29-31 are speaking specifically of the future 2nd coming of Christ. The events spoken of within these verses have *not* seen fulfillment.
Matthew Murphy Rose Thanks for the reply. Based on your comment, I’m taking it that you did not watch the previous videos in this serious that already thoroughly addressed each of the scriptures you mentioned from Matthew 24. I you watch it, I believe most of what you brought up will be answered.
The disciples had asked the Lord when the stones of the Temple would be thrown down. His answer was that Jerusalem would be surrounded by armies and that the inhabitants should flee to the mountains. There will be “great distress upon the Land and wrath unto this people [Jews]. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled” (Luke 21:23-24). This is the only passage of the four (Matthew 24:1-44; Mark 13:1-27; Luke 17:20-37, 21:5-36) in which the Lord answers the specific question regarding the destruction of the Second Temple that would occur in AD 70. In all of the rest of the four passages, He is talking about the latter days, the end of the age, and His Second Coming. In this passage concerning the destruction of the Temple in Luke 21:20-24, you’ll notice that it is the only time in any of the four passages where Jesus says that the Jews will be *led away captive* into all the nations. In all of the other passages, the Jews, the elect, are *gathered* from all over the earth. These are two distinct times of tribulation with two different outcomes: In *AD 70*, the Jews were either killed or *led away captive* into all the world; during the *Great Tribulation*, many Jews will be killed, but some will be supernaturally protected, will be *re-gathered*, and will personally witness the Second Coming of the Messiah. Study the differences between the Lucan passage and the other passages. This is key to understanding the difference between AD 70 and the Trib.
So you don't believe these are the same events Matthew 24:15-21 "So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And Luke 21:20-23 “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are inside the city depart, and let not those who are out in the country enter it, 22 for these are days of vengeance, to fulfill all that is written. 23 Alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be great distress upon the earth and wrath against this people. Each part starts with a when you see a certain event flee Judea and go to the mountains if you are going to argue Matthew is talking about a future worldwide event where is everyone not in Judea supposed to flee are we supposed to go anywhere? Next it talks about when they see the event to leave immediately one says to the one on the rooftop not to go take stuff from his house and if you are in the field don't go get your cloak in Luke it tells people if you are in the city leave if your are outside of the city don't go back. They are both saying the exact same thing urging people to flee the city. Then they both talk about pregnant women how difficult it will be for them Matthew gives a little more saying pray it will not take place in the winter or on the Sabbath but its interesting that they both follow each other. And then finally they both talk about how there will be great tribulation and distress on the earth. Each part follows the same order why would you say well it follows the same order but these are two different events that makes no sense.
@@Chico60Colt, you stopped reading too soon. Matthew 24:29-31 says that *immediately* after the tribulation of those days, the Son of Man will come and *gather* His elect. Luke 21:24 says they will be led away *captive* into all nations and trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Two different outcomes to two similar "tribulations." In AD 70, they were *scattered* and now we are in the times of the Gentiles. At the second coming, they will be *gathered* when the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
@@carolberubee I didn't stop but you are already out of order follow the text and put them side by side using what they are saying to guide you. Luke 21:25-28“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, 26 people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world. For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Unless you want to say that all the sudden Luke changes what he is talking to from the verses before both Matthew and Luke are talking about the same event its continuous do they focus on exactly the same details no but they are the same events.
@@Chico60Colt, you did stop. lol. You quoted Luke 21:21-23, but omitted v. 24, which tells us that after the AD 70 tribulation, the Jews would be led away captive into all nations until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. And, you omitted Matthew 24:29-31, which says that His return is *immediately* after the tribulation of those days. The difference between the two passages is that Luke 21:24 says that the Jews would be led away captive until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (then, the Second Coming in vv. 25-28), but Matthew 24:29-31 says that *immediately* after the tribulation is the Second Coming, at which time the elect will be gathered, not led away captive. He's talking about two different times of tribulation in these two passages.
@@carolberubee I wasn't intentionally omitting vs 24 but because you latch onto that verse to show that they are different events I was trying to show how you are out of order Matthew 24:29-31 follows Luke 21:25-28. Luke 21: 20-24 follows Matthew 24:15-28. You are trying to say that Luke 21:24 is part of Matthew 24:29-31 the order that you are placing the verses is off is what I'm trying to say. If you place the two scriptures side by side you can see that both are talking about the same event in the same order they both you different words to describe the same event. Luke is writing to a gentile audience so if he writes like a Jew his audience is not going to understand what it means this is why there is a difference in the stories.

Thanks so much for exegeting the scriptures! What a blessing. May God help me and others to be applying and propagating his truth.
For years I was taught dispensationalism as the only true understanding of prophecy. Finally I came across the true orthodox reading of these verses.
hard just to refute what he teaches, since he uses scripture to interpret scripture...always still keeping in mind he is just human like us all and vulnerable to mistakes..

I love these sermons that explain these difficult verses
The finality of death doesn't come until the great white throne judgment. Those in the first resurrection don't have any fear in the second death.

When it says this generation I believe it is referring to the generation that should see the signs mentioned . And absolutely does refer to his second coming

Pastors Jeff's message at the beginning, about local churches, is very important, but what if none preach the truths spoken at this sermon, and are all pre-mill dispensationalist?!
If they preach the gospel of repentance and forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ, then truly that is sufficient, no?
I thought that Hal Lindsay said we'd not make it past the 70's in "Late Great Planet Earth"?
@Captain Blamo I can't believe the difference in how this chapter is explained by Jeff and Macarthur.

Amazing how God can even use pagan symbols.
can prophecy refer to the past AND future?
You are correct. Paul does not say anything about the gifts ending in his first letter to the church at Corinth.
Look up Mark Hemans he’s got a powerful ministry. You’ll know all those gifts are still alive and well today.
What did the old testament say about the spiritual gifts that would be present at the start of the renewed covenant

1 Thess. 4:5-18
Concerning the coming "parousias" of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us-whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter-asserting that the day of the Lord has already come.
2 Thess.

Olivet Timing Revealed by Luke’s Gospel:
Compare Luke's Gospel to that of Matthew if you want to understand the timing.
Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple (These subtitles are found in e-Sword.)
Luk 21:5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said,
Luk 21:6 "These things which you see-the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down."
(Mat 24:2 And Jesus said to them, "Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down." )
Luk 21:7 So they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, but when will these things be? And what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?"
(Mat 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?")
( Mar 13:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately,
Mar 13:4 "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?")
Luk 21:8 And He said: "Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am He,' and, 'The time has drawn near.' Therefore do not go after them.
(Mat 24:5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. )
Luk 21:9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately."
(Mat 24:6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.)
Jesus Foretells Wars and Persecution
Luk 21:10 Then He said to them, "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
(Mat 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. )
Luk 21:11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
(Mat 24:7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. )
Luk 21:12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake.
(Mat 24:9 "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.) (Read Acts 22:19-20, where Paul reveals that he fulfilled this text.)
Luk 21:13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.
Luk 21:14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer;
Luk 21:15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.
Luk 21:16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.
Luk 21:17 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake.
(Mat 24:10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. )
Luk 21:18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost.
Luk 21:19 By your patience possess your souls.
(Mat 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.)
Jesus Foretells Destruction of Jerusalem
Luk 21:20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near.
(Mat 24:15 "Therefore when you see the 'ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
Luk 21:21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.
(Mat 24:16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.)
Luk 21:22 For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luk 21:23 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.
(Mat 24:19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! )
Luk 21:24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
(Almost all Bible scholars agree that the first part of the verse above is about 70 AD. At the end of the verse we find a period of time known as “the times of the Gentiles”. In the verses that follow we find the future Second Coming of Christ.)
The Coming of the Son of Man
Luk 21:25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
(Mat 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.)
Luk 21:26 men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Luk 21:27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
(Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.)
Luk 21:28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."
(Mat 24:33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors!)
Does the "man of lawlessness" or "son of perdition" have anything to do with the "abomination of desolation"?
His Words Would Be Everlasting
Jesus made the astounding prediction that "heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away" (Matthew 24:35).
In 538 B.C. Daniel wrote the following bold prediction:
"So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks of years and sixty-two weeks of years" (Daniel 9:25).
Nehemiah, the Jewish cupbearer to King Artaxerxes, was deeply concerned with the reports about the ruined condition of Jerusalem which came about as the result of their being defeated (Nehemiah 1:1-4) and as a result, he petitioned the king:
"Send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may rebuild it.
I am interested but you need to expand on more of this subject. What you have is not enough, too many holes and all over the place.
I'm am feeling a bit unoriented...lol. but it does change my thoughts and understanding a bit.
But what I did see, is that Bible that Jeffery Rice did! Lol.
So are we living in the Millenium rein of Christ?
Absolutely not.
Absolutely not the lion's are still MAN eaters !!!
Marvin Hesler I get what pastor Jeff is saying but it totally raises a whole bunch of questions .
Is this what is called “Kingdom Now” theology?
I think there are some definite differences, but the foundations may be the same
Post millennialism 👍🏽
Why aren't all the comments being shown??
Boom
You have to include Matthew Chapter 24 Verse 32 & 33 to get the correct timing of this prophcie.....
Matthew 24:32 Now learn the parable of the fig tree. When his branches is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves ye know summer is near.
33: So likewise ye, when you shall see all these things know that it is near even at the door. PREDERISUM VIEW DOES'NT INCLUDE THE WHOLE SCRIPTURE.. They start reading at verse 34 This generation. But scripture says it is the generation of the fig tree
Miss understood - Exactly: Read this:
✅ IMPORTANT! have you guys ever heard of multi-layered prophecy?
NO.

Scriptures please....Jeff seem to have provided about 40 in this sermon. You provided none.
Point made.
Just like the Watchtowerites aka Jehovahs Witnesses
Miss understood I’m afraid you have misunderstood the text pardon the pun
Jeff has been going through Matthew 24 for the last couple maybe three months, verse by verse.
Why I can't understand or retain information from this Pastor? He speaks in such a distracting way that looses me.
Try watching it on 1.5x
Sherry, do you have a church you regularly attend with a good teaching pastor/pastoral team? If so, maybe just concentrate on their teaching?
Who was prophecied to be sent in the last days? The Two Witnesses. That generation is theirs. Yahshua said that generation will be like that of Noah. 120 years.
Wow
Matthew 24 is not a passage about the 2nd coming of Christ? Is that what he just said?
Matthew - no, relisten to it
It begins at 29 minutes, honestly I don't know how you missed it if you listened even partially. It's very clear
Cheeky Nonconformist 29:26 "is not the 2nd coming"
What religion is Jeff?
He is a Deepwater Presbyterian
Jeff have you seen what is taken out of esv and the words they swap. I only like kjv and the nkjv replaces damnation with judgment but last time I checked we are all judged but not damned.
I'd like a reply I'll be looking for the name.
If kjv didn't use eagle I would have thrown it away. Why, well Jesus wouldn't change eagle to vulture because then there is symbolic terms being used. To change this is to alter prophecy and to confuse the babes.
Ryan Emberton Our allegiance is to the text of Scripture not to translations which vary and often times are wrong
@Edward Russell and has been proven false. Judas White only spats out emotional opinions that have no validity to them.

This is Great, but I wonder why pastors have to shout so much. Thank you 🕊
I’ve visited this church once. The acoustics are terrible in that room - you would probably shout too - or no one would hear you.
Glad that it’s recorded well at least
heh heh - Ja - I worship amongst God's frozen chosen - so I quite enjoy the energy
Yes, you ARE my pastor regardless of the scolding at the beginning of every video.
See Christ's description of the event in John 5:27-30, and Paul's timing in 2 Timothy 4:1.
.
Luke 21:32 says otherwise…
@@dansharits1525 Did Christ cast out devils during His earthly ministry? If He did, what does the first verse below say? How is it related to the second verse?
Luk_11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Luk 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Luke 21:5-7 -- "When will the Temple be destroyed?"
Luke 21:8-11 -- Signs of false christs, wars, earthquakes, famines, pestilences, and great signs from heaven.
Luke 21:12a -- *But before all these things...*
Luke 21:12b-24 -- The destruction of the Temple (the answer to v.
There are more chapters to the book of Matthew than chapter 24...
Mark 13, Luke 21, Revelation 6, Matthew 24 are parallel passages. Place send them side by side and timeline of events is a perfect match.

His second coming will be the greatest show on EARTH !! Do you take this matter lightly...you my freind must be careful you are not making a serious event like this all metaphors !!
Marvin Hesler,I am confused..! Greetings from Germany
In Matt 23 Jesus said, “from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’”
Clearly, Jesus’ return will not take place until, as Paul puts it, “all Israel will be saved,” therefore, the nation of Israel is still God’s special people today and very much a part of God’s plans for the future.

Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the _church in the wilderness_ with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:
So when the nation of Israel rejected their saviour, they ceased to be those who believe in the LORD. They became the enemies of God.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
As it is written, there shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.”
People will say blindness is only happened to Israel UNTIL the fullness of the gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved.” And they say right there, “that shows that the blindness is temporary because once the fullness is COME IN, Israel is no longer going to be blinded. And they will say “that’s when the church age is over, and He ceases to deal with the gentiles and he starts dealing with Israel again.”
I am going to show you just how unbiblical this is.
Revelation 11:2 - "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not, for it is given unto the GENTILES, and the holy city shall they TREAD UNDER FOOT" (same wording as Luke 21), "forty and two months, and I will give power unto my two witnesses.”
So when is the time of the gentiles fulfilled, or the fullness of the gentiles come in?
“And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written, there shall come out of Zion the deliverer and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.”
So when is it that Israel is no longer going to be blind, and all Israel is going to be saved?

Reformed evangelicals are not the best Christians not the best church's not the best teachers. Unfortunately they think they are...... Go figure!
It all feeds into their worldly " I'm so special" vibe. Not a "special through Christ" vibe but reeks of arrogance. Vanity tends to plague them in my experience. God does not pre-ordain evil
Jeff Durbin teaches Dominion/Kingdom now, theology.
The Bible says we're ALL equal in the eyes of God. Neither Jew nor Gentile. All who follow Christ Jesus are the seed of Abraham. We're ALL descended from Adam and Eve. One race different tribes. Stop with the preferential treatment, good news , the Gospel.
Yes... Jesus uses prophetic language that hearkens back to the prophets but when dealing with the context of the Olivet Discourse the judgment of Israel at the time was not the focus of that chapter it was the Messianic prophetic language of the RETURN of Yahweh as King Messiah - literally when "... the end will come." You address the hyperbole of lightning that comes from the East and the eagles feeding on the carcass but totally ignore the very next verse:
30 “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

Jeff Durbin is incorrect in his interpretation of Matthew 24.
Matthew Murphy Rose
If I may ask, how so? Please be specific.
Matthew Murphy Rose
Thanks for sharing that. As it pertains specifically to Matthew 24, what specific verse in that chapter would you point to to show that it was not referring to that time period?
Joshua Brooks,
Matt.23:3 applies to both the destruction of the Temple in 70AD
and the destruction of the future Temple which will be defiled by the Antichrist.

Thanks for the reply. Based on your comment, I’m taking it that you did not watch the previous videos in this serious that already thoroughly addressed each of the scriptures you mentioned from Matthew 24. I you watch it, I believe most of what you brought up will be answered.
5:20 🙄
Matthew 24:29-31 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
28 Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Unless you want to say that all the sudden Luke changes what he is talking to from the verses before both Matthew and Luke are talking about the same event its continuous do they focus on exactly the same details no but they are the same events.
This is the most ludicrous message I think I've ever heard! He gives absolutely zero references to all the examples of people who claimed that this has already happened. If all this was fulfilled in 70 AD, when was The Book of Revelation written? Problem with the preterist view, is it forces you to accept an early date for the writing of Revelation. No scholar in their right mind would put the Book of Revelation before 90 AD. He is so false and incorrect, but he's teaching with such Authority! This message needs to be rebuked with the same Authority
You say he gives 0 references, but this is a series and he gives plenty of references in the other sermons. @@repentorperish1386 Emotional response huh? Why don't you compare the the references you claim he makes in another video and compare that to the mountain of references that says Jesus hasn't come yet! @@lonestarstate6570 no sir you misunderstand. I do not beleive jesus has had the final resurrection the defeat of death. Although a minority, many scholars view do Revelation as written before 70 AD (RC Sproul to name one)
still not all of it. people read the bible for yourself . God still hast a last days people to save.
