      He put Beansie in the wheelchair cuz even if vengeance isn't Jewish, neither is Beansie. He couldn't risk anything less.

    First time I saw David Prowse, who is a New York City Jew, play a Jew. And as a Jew, I can say..."A fellow Lanzman!"

      Hardly wise to consider yourself wiser than God in designing just laws.

      @@GaryM67-71while i am not a follower of any faith, i am well read and you missed the point here if you follow the dogma and history.
      God didn't design just laws, God designed people, and then apparently chose some of those people to recieve God's message. Those people however were free to interpretate that message however they chose, and most did a piss poor job of it. Then more people came along and edited and translated that poor interpretation again and again. Basically modern versions of ancient religious texts are a bad game of Chinese wispers.
      Or to put it simply, God made rules but did a piss poor job of telling all the players, and the referee wrote their own rules to make their job easier.

    No offense to the Jewish faith but I am always entertained by religious leaders trying to spin ancient Religions to be relevant to the present day AND ignoring the original tenets fo he religion. Why not just create a new religion every decade to fit modern sensibilities.

    • @joemckim1183
      @joemckim1183 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because that would burst peoples bubbles having to realize that religion is mostly make believe fairy tales with no basis in actual fact.

      "Faith" is the wrong word to describe Judaism. Faith is central to Christianity. And while it's part of Judaism for a lot of Jews, it's not mandatory: there are many. many people who consider themselves both Jewish and atheist, including this commenter. Judaism teaches that people should follow the commandments (the Torah identifies 613 - feel free to Google it - there are lists) because it's right thing to do, not because the alternative is eternal hellfire (we don't focus on the afterlife much at all).

      (I am not jewish) but Judaism is an ancient religion. Ancient religions worked different than Christendom or Islam.
      For example: Cicero was maybe an atheist, at least he clearly moked gods in his leters. Or Thukydies clearly tried to see the Trojan war without all godly interference in his "Peleponesian wars", but both people where still seen as religious. Because, ancient religions are not so much about faith, about the idear, there are build for community: to be a part of it, to show to be a part of a close community which basic organisation was often religious.
      A history professor of mine once said: one change from ancient time to medieval is, in ancient politics/state/community (res publica = public matters) matters where the dominant thing, in medieval faith-matters became more dominant.
      Judaism, at least in its old version, was way less about tenets in the way of dogma, but about cult and tenets as a way of shaping the socity. That has shifetd today: socity is not build after religion today, but faith is...but you can say: ancient religion, like jewish, where not "build" for faith in a modern way, there wehre build for societys.
