This version of Superman saved countless people by killing the Joker. The problem is, he didn't know how to STOP killing.

To be fair, Superman turned out badly partly because of others' actions and decisions., ie, Wonder Woman, Batman, The President.
Just because Batman is one kill away from becoming a monster doesn't mean everyone else is.

@Viper Hareous "Killing automatically makes you crazy."
And again that kind of thinking (and story writing) is just illogical, Hernan Guerra from JL: Gods and Monsters was still pretty much a sensible person, he's just doing what needs to be done.

@Viper Hareous nah, people like Joker are too dangerous to keep alive. The government should kill them after trying them in a court, not vigilantes though.

*MAJOR SPOILER ALERT based on the Injustice Comics:*
The Joker killed Jimmy Olsen by shooting him in the eye, then he kidnapped Lois Lane, then he placed a chip connected to a nuclear device inside the heart of Lois Lane, then he placed that nuclear device right smack in the middle of Metropolis, then he combined Kryptonite and Scarecrow's fear gas to drug Superman into thinking that Lois Lane is Doomsday... Now that nuclear bomb he planted will be set-off in the event that Lois Lane's heart stopped beating. So long story short, Superman grabbed Lois thinking that she is in fact the terrible Doomsday. Superman flew Lois right into the unforgiving environment of space killing her due to the lack of oxygen cause that's what he did when he faced Doomsday before. Superman only came to when he heard the beating of two hearts... one of Lois and the other of his son. This event of course sets-off the nuclear bomb killing millions of Metropolis citizens that Superman has worked so hard to protect. Yeah Superman might have killed The Joker, but let's face it, The Joker also killed what Superman is all about. Now the only "REASON" The Joker did this was that he was tired of always losing to the Batman and that he wanted to win for a change. So he picked "EASY MODE" and that mode is Superman.

People are always blaming batman for letting Joker loose all the time, but what the hell is the government doing? It's a comic book world so popular villains like the Joker are going to get a ton of stories where they'll ultimately get caught at the end. They then break out for a when its time for a new story. It's just the nature of the medium. It's why in the Dark Knight trilogy world which is closed to other stories, Ledgers death aside, that Joker only had one go and was locked up and gone forever afterwards.

    This.
This is the main reason why I quit being a Superman hater.
When you see how much self-control he has to deal it, a being with the power to conquer or destroy entire planets, and still choosing not to give in. I came to appreciate, and even admire him, not by his powers, but by his morals.
The people of the whole DC Universe have to be thankful for the fact that Superman isn't evil (yet), for if he was, there's no one in the universe who could stop him. I mean, sure, physically he's pretty much invulnerable, which is probably the reason why people dislike, BUT his mind isn't.
And that mind could be broken, just like we see here. And if it was, may God have mercy on the entire world.
The man of Steel lives in a world of cardboard who's constantly trying to break him, and still he tries to save it.
    ...For now.

There are even times where superman defeats the entire justice league, in the injustice universe batman beat superman with another superman since all his plans failed before. The creators of the game said it would put an end to the debate of who would win, so superman can only beat himself, people beat him down sure but he always comes back in the end or it was part of his plan along to lose in order to trigger a chain of events the result in him winning. They had to kill certain Nazis to defeat the evil of the Axis forces. Yeah, prisoners were taken, but when the situation called for it, good men killed. Even in a never-ending battle for truth and justice, occasionally an evil guy will die. If not, innocent people die instead. Look at Gotham City, hundreds of innocent people have died because Batman insists on letting the Joker live.

You don't seem to get that *this was exactly what the Joker wanted* killing him would make the very man who killed him even worse or no better than he already was. Everything that Clark has done in the Injustice Universe, was because he killed the Joker. Joker won in the end because he broke the Man of Steel and made him to what he is now. That's why Batman didn't bother to kill him because he was afraid that he would become ether worse or no better than the Joker or any of his Rogues in that manner.

This opening didn't show it, but according to the comics, what Joker did was A LOT WORSE than what was shown in this scene. Specifically, what and how Joker made Superman go mad, and what Superman exactly did.
    Spoilers:
Joker first killed Jimmy Olson, then kidnaps Lois (preg with Supes's son) while Superman was trying to defuse a bomb. Except the bomb wasn't some sort of city destroying bomb, but it was containing Kryptonite-laced fear toxin. Superman inhaled some of it, and it immediately brings him back to the moment when Doomsday killed him in DOS. While Supes was going crazy to fight off illusionary Doomsday, Joker throws Lois at Supes. Supes sees Lois as Doomsday, and since Supes didn't want so much damage to Metropolis, Supes takes Doomsday-Lois into outer space. While in space, Supes gets powered up by the direct sunlight and overcomes the fear toxin, only to realize that he brought Lois into outer space, killing her.
Meanwhile, Joker setup a nuke in Metropolis, which was connected to Lois's heartbeat, so when Lois died, it also set off the nuke, which leveled the city.
Yeah, take your time to absorb that.

  • @eslm-studios2996

Of all the Joker has ever done, this was probably one of his most monstrous attacks he's pulled. It's bad enough he put Batgirl out of commission, killed Jason, driving Commissioner Gordon insane, teased and tormented Bruce numerous times, but blowing up an entire city... that's a whole new level even for him! No wonder Clark was infuriated beyond reasoning.
But Clark... out of all the things he's been through, all the villains he's faced, and it only takes one more loss to make him go insane to the point of going down the dark path. This is exactly why Batman never kills and Superman always hesitates. They both know it would make them go down a dark path they can't come back from which is why both know each others weaknesses so when that day comes, they'll be ready to finish the job.
I think I know why Joker wasn't executed from this. Batman must have got to him just in time before they could give him the death penalty. As mad as the Joker is, there's no denying he's still as human as they are, and if they killed him, they wouldn't have found out where he got the nuke from, and if they didn't find out where it came from, what's to stop someone else from carrying out the deed should Joker die? I think Joker knew he was for it this time, and Bruce was only holding it back while Clark tossed him aside to finish what Batman could never do.

HUGE SPOILERS READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. Joker has Superman kill him as we have all seen in this video but in turn this makes super man evil. How this happens is when the joker is killed super man sees that killing villains is a better alternative. Now your thinking yea and its great right, wrong super man in turn becomes a dictator of the world he has all villains killed except villains that join him. Superman also kills Green Arrow for thinking that taking away everyones freedom so they cant be evil or anything for that matter is wrong. Later on super man has lost all his humanity and rationality that all rebellion is a threat and when shazam confronts him for planning to kill everyone in gotham and other world metropolis super man fries his brain and kills him now remember shazam is a 10 yr old boy and all he did for superman to kill him was say you cant do this its crazy exact quote. In the end joker turns superman into a raving murderous lunatic and truly has his last laugh that is why heroes dont kill because this would happen they would go on a power trip in the game super man actually refers to himself as a god hence the name of the game gods among us.

Batman clearly was okay with this death. If he wanted to stop Superman he would. He knew that superman would be in a highly emotional state, and likely to come and kill the joker, so he would certainly have kryptonite on hand. The fact that he doesn't use it, is evidence that he too agreed it was time the joker was put to death.
Notice that he doesn't even try to talk sense into Clark. That is uncharacteristic for Batman because he is all about sensibility.
The glance after he threw Batman at 3:28 was not a glance of remorse, but he was waiting for a command. He wanted to make sure Batman was okay with him killing the Joker. Batman didn't contest, so that was all Superman needed, so that he knew he could kill the joker.

Ironically they always seem to show another universe that's worse off then their own, how about a new universe showing how the superheroes (somehow) convinced/rehabilitated the super villains, making them all heroes too, creating a world rid of nearly any form of crime while not living in some kind of military controlled world.
(would not make a amazing story on itself, but it sure could get guys like Batman thinking on trying to help people like freeze to create a cure for Nora so he can stop his crime spree, or help other villain's who are basically just on the path of a villain due to having no other choice in the matter, mainly a lot of the henchmen.)

This makes me question something. So if the heroes aren't allowed to execute people why hasn't the government done it? Batman doesn't want to kill the Joker fine but how come the courts and the government don't end him? They have the authority. The Joker clearly can't be reformed and no prison can hold him forever. So how come they don't end it? Obviously I'm asking for a reason that's in this universe. The outside reason would be because there would be no more comics, shows and movies.

Comic book logic, governments don't exist, only superhero's. Besides if he does end up dying he'll just get resurrected with the help of some conveluted loop hole. No one really stays dead in comics, unless it's a loved one or civilian, those guys automatically die!

-But he always escape and has kills hundreds of innocents and will kill more! Even Batman can't keep him in check. Who cares if that's what the Joker's wants? It does not prove that we are like him, it just shows that we don't want other innocents to die.
-Who are you to decide if one person deserves to die or not? ot killing him is the right thing to do.

Gab sadly there is no answer. Yet we see what it does to Superman. The issue with killing, it makes it easier to kill again. Each life becomes less valuable. You can say “we only will kill the really bad people, like the joker,” then u start to make exceptions, “we will kill scarecrow” “I guess since we killed him, we can kill penguin” “i guess if we killed him, we can kill this murderer” “then if we killed him we can kill this felon” etc. it’s not a winning streak because people will make exceptions, which collapses the foundation and structure. The only way to ensure this is to not kill in the first place

Injustice universe Superman did his world a favor IMO by killing Joker. It was what he did after Joker's death that showed he'd completely lost it. Killing Joker didn't turn him evil. What Joker did to Metropolis,Lois and their baby did that. His obsession with trying to stop something like that from happening again turned him into a control freak who killed innocent people for daring to question him. That's why he became evil.
