I like that Damian is a more kill hungry Jason Todd/Red Hood. Mind you that Jason kills criminals but rejects Superman’s Regime because hes smart enough to know how much of an abuse of power it is. He would still not be completely on Batman’s side but he cares more for the innocent people who can’t defend themselves rather than holding his sense of “justice” like Damion

@@theoneandonlysomeone3972 theres a difference between brutality and having standards. Damian compared to Jason doesn’t give a shit about innocent people, thats the difference. Jason only fight for the underdog, not to just kill the criminal and put in a similar situation where an innocent person was in risk of losing their life, Jason would more times than not risk his life to save that person over Damion who would most likely kill the person then try to save. I wasn’t claiming who was more ruthless, just that Jason more so has a heart when it comes to being an Anti hero

I personally choose to ignore the comics when I can. It's hugely inconsistent with the games and is pretty much ignored in the games. This scene is just an example. Zsaaz dies here, so who kills Alfred under Supermans orders? Also where's Nightwing? This is meant to be where Damien kills him. Blue Beetle later witnesses Supergirl but Batman is surprised at her existence in the game.
It's better to ignore the comics.

@@WackRusDud Sort of, it's more complicated than that. There are two real reasons why Batman chooses not to kill.
      1. He honestly believes that anyone and everyone can be rehabilitated - even the Joker. He still hates his guts, but there's a reason why he keeps throwing him back into Arkham Asylum and not Blackgate prison. Whether or not someone like the Joker is worth it, however, is up for debate.
      2. He fears that it would be a very slippery slope for him and most anyone else in the bat family to kill. He is convinced that if he rationalizes even once to kill someone that he'll give himself weaker and weaker rationalizations to kill and become a tyrant that gives no second chances - much like the Superman at his angriest, and lowest in the Injustice storyline.
He's flawed, but I find it compelling

The first one makes him a naive idiot. Some people just cannot change and it would be better to end it.
The second one? Makes sense, but considering the existence of the "Gods and Monsters" version of the Justice League and them eventually changing their way of "kill nearly every criminal" into the "kill only when it's necessary", that belief does seem black and white.

Lots of people say that kindness is a weakness. What they don't understand is that kindness just requires a different kind of strength. The strength to stick to those ideals, even at the toughest of situations as well as knowing that kindness is probably not going to be returned in kind but sticking to it as well. They also know that even with being kind, there will still be consequences to their actions.

      @brianleicester8096 3 ปีที่แล้ว +119

What you have to understand though, is that this isn’t just a question of revenge vs mercy, it’s a question of whether it’s worth letting those who have hurt or killed others to continue living when likely all they will ever do is continue to do what they’ve done before. Should a murderer be allowed to continue living despite the fact that he will only continue killing. Is the killing of one man truly worse than letting him continue to pose a danger to potentially countless innocent lives? By not moving to stop an action, are you not just as guilty of committing that action?

I think superman somewhat right. and Joker deserve it. Batman was just pissed off because his favorite toy was taken away from him. Also WW plays a more evil role here. Threatening someone is as powerful as planet and had 1/100000 th of mine power after he loses his love is will obviously break anyone mentally.

For zsasz, or for the Joker, it's obvious, a death sentence is needed. However, if you give that power to a tribunal, or worse, you get that power to yourself, where will you trace the line? If something our present proves is how misguided judges and tribunals can be. Tainted and biased by so many things, ready to tear laws apart for an order, or an ideal. Will you trust them the power to decide who lives and who dies? It's a pretty serious question. That's why Batman is right, as much as hard it is to say.

2:39 The amount of respect and love Clark still has for Bruce really shows in this one exchange. Anyone else mentioning Lois would either get stared down hard without dialogue hinting to them they should shut their mouth, lasered as we can almost see here, or probably killed. But the cracking in his voice, the restraint he has in his eyes not lasering him, not to mention almost death-punching him, really shows he still has so much respect for him still and is still torn between him knowing he is absolutely right, and but believing he is wrong and still maintaining his own stance. I really love analyzing exchanges like this that really show character turmoil and struggles.

3:50 : Superman is like Dayum ! The boy actually did it !
This is an incredibly deep philosophical debate for a series that started out as a bunch of dudes in spandex fighting crime. Both sides make very good points.
Many of the inmates and villains can not possibly rehabilitated into society there's no way you can get someone who killed over a hundred people or blew up entire building to walk into the city again like a normal person, but throwing them into a hole will not solve anything, will be costly and the risk of them getting out and continuing their activity will always exist .
On the other, at what point would killing them stop ? Killing is killing, today they will kill a murderous psychopath, a hitman, an armed bank robber, what will stop them from going after jaywalkers and litterers ? And who would give someone the authority to just kill people, even if those people commit crimes that are inhumane ?

The problem with the dc story is that repeat offenders are not properly tried or executed. They are left to repeatedly escape and get more victims under the guise of being insane. While that makes for a fun comic book story, It wrongly pushes the idea that there should be no capitol punishment. There has to be a balance, because without mercy there can be no justice. But leaving mass murderers alive to escape and repeat is not justice either. So the flaw wasn't that the laws weren't in place for capitol punishment; it was a system of wicked world rulers that would not enact the just laws.

That's the part I never understood in these stories of justice vs their extreme brother. Damian and superman are right, people like the joker are irredeemable they are murderers who will never stop; they pay no mind to people just trying to go about their lives. Yes execution may be extreme, but it's the one surefire way to make sure people don't go around killing after playing the system or breaking out of Arkham. if killing does not sit well with Batman, fine but don't get in the way of people willing to put a final end to their crime, as his way has seen countless people dead by one person.

    • @rabbialmodovar7231

Exactly. Batman should keep his code to himself. Batman has no right to shove his code down other people’s throats. Each have their own problems to take care of. If someone’s about to avenge their slaughtered family and friends, Batman shouldn’t interfere. If Jason sets out to kill mass murderers like the Joker, Batman shouldn’t interfere. If Damian sets out to kills Ra’s al Ghul and the rest of the League of Shadows, Batman shouldn’t interfere. Penguin, Scarecrow, Riddler, Clayface, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Two-Face, and Hugo Strange are dangerous and mentally ill, but they rarely succeed in killing innocents, so they can live and possibly be rehabilitated. Joker, Victor Zsasz, and Ra’s al Ghul are the only criminals who are beyond redemption and to dangerous to live because they killed hundreds or thousands and they keep the killing spree going.
