It's amazing how good the US is when they put their very best out there. DeFalco is the hardest hitter I've ever seen. Anderson, Russell and Smith are amazingly consistent. Christianson and Shoji are simply the best in the world. And Jendryk is really coming into his own.
Specially that Serbia gets blocked consistently and they still keep on hitting like they can get the ball through to the other side.
Shoji carried the entire Team USA in Set 2. He's really good in hyping his team up and keeping their minds in the game.
Matt Anderson back on the court has a big impact to the team USA. ❤❤

never understand how the US finished 10th at the olympics with basically this same team. they are so good; athletic, big, well coached, among the best in the world at every position.

Negativity and lack of team chemistry especially in tough situations. They also didn’t have Aaron Russell and I think he makes a huge difference and is a way better overall player than Muagututia.
Russell was not present. Defalco was still pretty much new and not as good as he is today. Erik Shoji explained it pretty much on one of his videos about the Olympics. They just weren't playing as good as they were hoping. Sander quit indoor volleyball after that so probably he wasn't all in mentally.
