Washington is such a great middle. She has the defense and the offense. Some of those plays such as that chicken wing play helped them keep points alive.
USA's tempo with Poulter is really just another thing 🤯 it's almost as fast as the Thais. This is really making them formidable

Poulter is the best setter, she has good connections with all the hitters.
+ compared to all the other setters, she is a great blocker.
@@youcantstopme6181 Carlini is a good blocker too...for me Hancock has the best serve but poor connection with hitters, Carlini definitely has the best floor defence and can block well (I am not sure what weakness kiraly sees in her), and poutler is best at the fast offence and maybe the best overall connection (her floor defence might be her 'weakness' compared to carlini).

What makes the US and Japan stand out in this tournament is their methodic and very persistent play. They are are conditioned VERY well. They last longer than all European teams. They do not stress, but they carefully continue on like the tortoise--but a fast tortoise with great skill~!!! AND, the US has Annie Drews and Dana Rettke~!!! I mention these two because they can BOTH pass and attack~!!! :-)))
Their coach is very old school, so you know they will be methodic and diciplined

Though as expected, remove Ognjenovic-Boskovic tandem, Serbia will always have a hard time sadly 🙁

It's not only Ognjenovic-Boskovic. The second setter (Zivkovic-Drca) also isn't playing, Mihajlovic is not ready, Popovic is not here (although Aleksic makes it less important), Lozo, Zelenovic... Another thing is that this new mix-up team plays with this coach for the first time, and he had no time to get familiar with what his base is. So it's certainly more than just Ognjenovic-Boskovic.
@@59vlada it's honestly ogjnenovic and boscovic tandem for Serbia only. They had been fielding this same B team before in the vnl since they don't usually let most of their their A team play. But in this tournament there's so many players that has been on the team for so long like Busa, the setter, bjelica, and milenkovic yet there's seems to be no improvement to them at all. Without the key players, they are always almost at the bottom of the standings. Don't expect to much on ogjnenovic and mihajlovic because their already staring to past their prime.

And it is exactly poor performance at the LN why Serbia was ranked #4 even at the time when it was reigning world and European champion, and Olympic vice champion. What should be the reason to expect better now? Nearly the same players, new coach, still trying to figure things out?

Any American player really has to earn her spot in the formidable USA squad... they can afford to send their considered Team A, B, or C which may just stil be better than most of the competing teams... good for them to continue their dominance but a nightmare to their opponents...... well done girls

Volleyball is being played in almost every school in the US so Americans especially the women’s would be very strong in this sport for many years to come.
Not only that, more important is that there is a persistent, organized work at selecting players from that wide base and, of course, high quality national team coaching (Karch is for me a coach-roll-model in every respect). That's how the US with no professional league keeps at the top of world's volleyball.
Their collegiate system is big has brings some of the best players from all over the world. so they are kind of grilled before they even go pro
I really love to see the team USA playing, whoever is the starting 6 or 7 greatly contributes to their winning streak😍
What a match from Busa, it was one of the best matches she's ever played (besides 2019 european finals). Even though Serbia lost 3-0, I'm very confident this team with Boskovic, Maja and Lozo will be a very tough team to beat and could defend their title in the World Championships.
Assuming that Serbia can pass properly and not block Bosko by good blocking team sure sure
@@wyng4247 Serbia made better reception than USA today. Also, Boskovic is known by great out-of-system plays.
@@cptovar5700 US' bad reception still translated into points both Plummer and Sarah are in 50% attack efficiency while Serbia's OH are in 30%, Also USA outblock, outserve and made fewer errors than Serbia
@@cptovar5700 Yeah, it's refreshing to see her play well, especially since she recently had a finger surgery and couldn't play much in previous club season. I remember that 2019 European finals vividly where, with amazing serves, she changed the score from 6-9 to 11-9 in the 5th set vs Turkey. And when she served those consecutive aces in the 2nd set vs USA today, it reminded me of that 5th set in the European finals.

Excelente juego, todas las jugadoras Estadunidenses tienen un nivel muy alto, Serbia parece en recambio, no sé por qué no está jugando Boskovick, y creo que le faltan dos centrales, también hay nuevo técnico, muy bueno por cierto, en estos momentos las damas Americanas son las mejores
creo que bosko no está para que el equipo aprenda a jugar sin la dependencia de ella o simplemente esta descansando para el mundial, aunque lo primero me parece lo mas lógico. En cuanto sus centrales, serbia está en renovación porque rasic dejó la selección de la misma manera que velijkovic, de la última no estoy muy seguro

@@georgevalgood1718 Boskovic is resting for the world championship, its more important tournament for Serbia as we are the defending champions. Also for years now vnl is used as the ground for new players, Serbian team A players rarely play this tournament. Rasic and Veljkovic retired but Aleksic and Stevanovic are really good and M Popovic still plays. Lozo is good hitter to be support for Boskovic which we lacked last year since Mihjalovic was injured and she still didnt fully recover. And its good thing new players got chance to prove themselves here although this current team this week doesnt look very promising hopefully things will change once Lozo and Drca start playing again..

USA is just unstoppable. They're like the taller version of the Japanese and Thai team. They're also like the quicker version of the European teams. And of course, they're as powerful as the Brazilians.

USA 🇺🇸 is stacked with good and skillful players. They can get anyone and will surely deliver. But they have to prepare if they get to clash with Japan 🇯🇵 again in the final rounds.

I mean Japan lost to Netherlands, who is ranked 14. I think USA’a A squad can handle Japan.

Every team seems to be scrambling to implement a quicker middle BIC - Japan and USA and probably Brazil (Top 3 teams so far) are the ones with better results at the moment. The European teams seem to have tougher time adjusting to the quicker game but it has been fun to watch the teams running new plays.

but it is, mainly, about the setter in this VLN team:
we do have at least two better setters then current one, Mirkovic, and the legendary Maja Ognjenovic being the one - I'm very confident that Serbia will do well when it matters - on World Championship in few months❤

Can someone explain to me what wilhite parsons brings to the table? I just don’t see it but I’m willing to be wrong!
I mean does it matter? He is just experimenting, she is definitely better than the even newer outside that played the game before. I think parson is synergizes well with poutler's fast sets; she has a very compact swing and she looks like she is hitting off a new with no block most of the time because everything can happen really fast with her. I don't think her passing is anything special ,, and I do believe plummer is of another offesnive class, but plummer struggles on passing sometimes and isn't the best at defense/
Wilhite Parsons has the most stable reception and defense behind Robinson among the OHs. She is also a brilliant attacker. Both she and Plummer hit above 50% in this match. Now that Larson and probably Bartsch have left the national team she is having more chances. I believe their OH lineup for World Champs would be Robinson-Wilhite-Frantti and a toss between Bajema and Plummer.
@@edzzzkie interesting. I find her attacking lacking any kind of dynamism but will agree her passing/defense is solid.
@@EL1991_ she has a basic spike approach which is somewhat effective but also means she is not a powerful hitter. She doesnt have a long wind up like Gabi. She actually performed well in last year's VNL also. She was the top scorer of the first match between USA and Brazil.
@@edzzzkie I think maybe it’s her arm swing I find slow. Jordan Larson has a very basic approach but doesn’t hit the ball like that, for example.

Thing is other teams have same players that been playing together since VNL started, expect them to have tighter connections. USA meanwhile have different mix of players every match which can be trouble if they are not connecting properly.

@@user-qj2cn1he1s deservingly so, yes. japan had amazing rhythm while usa were having miscues and errors. Also, it was the first week of vnl, some players just came out of club leagues and usa was rotating their players every match.

セルビアは初めてアメリカ戦でデュースに持ち込んだ試合で、今大会セルビアvs韓国の1セットの次に長い長期戦になったので、初めてアメリカが欧州相手にセットポイント取られるかと思いましたが、アメリカは、長期戦のデュースに持ち込まれても、めちゃくちゃ抗体があったのと、1.3セットは世界選手権を制したセルビアに20点目も取らせない圧勝でしたねえ！後2試合はいずれも欧州と戦いますが、欧州で1番いろんな大会でメダルを取っているセルビア相手に3ー0勝ち出来たので、よほどのことが無ければ、2試合ともストレート勝ち出来ると思いますねえ！

Plummer is my favorite player so I was kinda sad to see her have such a bad day in reception; I think its the thing that will make the coach not put her on the main team, because bartsh and robinson are defensive outsides in the sense that they have amazing defence and reception. Also I wonder if the coach will give hentze another try, it seems like he is still experimenting but he hasn't been putting her in.
You may know the Serbian coach Santarelli is Plummer's coach at Imoco so he knows her weaknesses. She's improved quite a bit, but any team would be smart to target her on reception so she has to get better to make the Olympic roster. Hentz is good but I don't think we'll see her in the lineup against Turkey because they're such a dangerous team. I could see Karch putting Hentz in against Germany.

Thompson, Drews, Cutino in that order. When Thompson is on fire she's just unstoppable. She has better floor defense than Annie, too. However, I love annie's running spike (lol).
