I have one of the 7 inch and it works great. Cooked some fish and made coffee on it already
I love it. This is the first I have heard of it. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for watching!
Fits perfect with the solo stove campfire nesting pots
I'll have to try that
Love it with the Pathfinder mod.
Thank you for the video I did purchase the 15” also I’m trying out the 7” I used wood pellets burned great I added more pellets on my unit the collection tray prevented air flow after the first burn imo clean collection tray and start a new burn worked great !!
I’m thinking if you put a pot on the pathfinder it will hamper the flame maybe snuff it out
Good point. Need to find out...
Im gonna make kabobs, good call ❤
Good review of the first pit but the addiction of the pathfinder hobo stove is a game changer. If you want to cook only fill about 1/2 way and allow to burn down for better control Try pellets as they last longer😊
Thanks for the tip!
Wow!!! You've been gone for awhile! Welcome back!!! 😊
Thanks
Cool I have both pieces I will give a try
Please do!
That pathfinder thingy seems like an almost pointless piece of equipment. Whats it for? To keep ash from blowing out and starting a fire?
For both ash and to use a smaller pot.
The "pathfinder mod" blocks carefully engineered ventilation. If you are worried about using Barbie sized cookware, a bit of screening will do fine. Even if the pathfinder contraption does fit inside, the smaller device was designed to reduce the weight of carrying a wood stove, not add onto it.
About adding functionality and blocking some vent holes may make it more efficient and save fuel in many scenarios
Pathfinder turned it into a rocket stove. It's gonna eat away at that metal quickly! Probably would be pretty efficient with less wood or maybe worse? I don't know! 🤣
If you cut the sides off it might work better and less like a rocket stove. But let's be honest you could put the same size pan on top of the thing if you just put the arms down....
But totally appreciate the video!
Yes it fits, and yes it will fit inside turned upside down
Does Walmart sell the pathfinder? 😊
But wear do you get the Pathfinder?
Maybe too hot when you place the Pathfinder on top?
What is the heat coverage area?
can u put charcoal in that?
Good vid. Good tip, thank you for sharing man.
Thanks for watching!
That aint cheating thats smart living 💥💥💥
So what size is this thing? How does it compare with a camp cup?
Great video
Thanks!
I bought one of these. I burnt pellets in the stove as directed by manual and when the fire burnt out and cooled, I noticed the bottom grate that's holds the pellets or wood had WARPED leaving the grated uneven by 3/4 of an inch. Walmart's return policy online is foraminal. No issue's
That's a good idea
The music at the beginning of the video scared the crap out of me. I had the volume up and didn't expect the sound to be that loud.
The consept is what fuels do you carry pocket rocket, Coleman fuel ⛽ propane or LP gas or pickup some sticksand what are you cooking , burgers water are you walking the AP trail or car camping
Is it enough for warmth? Or just for a cooker?
I use mine just to provide a little warmth. I have a solo stove but use this one when I’m by myself. Works great with fuel wood pellets too.
It didnt feel really warm. Good to warm up your hands I would say. Oh,and cook some food.
I guess I am missing the point of putting the Pathfinder stove on the top of the stove?
So you can use a smaller pot. My Stanley coffee press wouldn't fit on it without it.
Put a circle piece of stainless steele screen
Would that whole kit fit in a backpack for a over nighter
Yes it would. It is not reall that big.
my first time using one of these, i spent more time tending the fire than using the fire.
I really believe it's just ment for cooking. Definitely requires a lot of attention!
👍🏻
great mod!!!!!
Fat wood, a few pieces split down can be used to start many fires 🤔👍
