I love building model car kits and the one thing I really hate about a model kit is painting that window trim. I've never done gold leafing but someone was telling me I should try silver leafing the trim that it gives that realistic chrome effect to it
Nice job! I have a question though...you painted the engine bay black, then painted the body with the hood on, and had the windows & wheel wells masked. How did the entire thing end up red? Did you end up having to repaint it?
@@NicksCollectableCreations I was just waiting to see how it turned out painting it with the hood on, then realized it wasn't black anymore lol. I'm always thinking about painting the hood on the body, but then I worry it'll screw something up when I take it off.
What is a few top car model Company's out there when it comes to good fitting parts & Detail ? Also can water slide decals be clear coated over to make them more permanent & seamless to the touch ?
Yes but what the clear coat is made of could cause the decals to crack. I think an Acetone based clear would be too harsh for the decals, likewise Lacquer. Tamiya clear or a water based are ok. I think that is a reason the "future floor polish" products are popular with modelers as it has no problems with decals.
I really want to get into this hobby but have no idea what I need to buy to start like types of paint glue and so on. Also can i ask why you did flat black then paint and primer on top of flat black
They were basically the same body as 68 in the 68 didn't have his wing vents in it but is cool looks almost like somebody swapped the doors out from the 68 to 67 or you could go to 68 Camaro
I use acrylic paint cut with water and alcohol. I don't know why,.. I just always did. lol. ...but,.. what should I do if I use the Testors.?? What do I thin it with and what is a good mix/Percentage.?
Thanks! When I finished this kit, I had no idea they had become something of a rare thing. I had hoped to find some photo etch parts for the vent windows but didn't have any luck.

Chrome foil trim for motel cars has been around since the 90's, I remember scale auto magazines showing it off but I have never tried it myself.
Rustolium flat black is back at WalMart
I’m modeling the AMT 1966 Ford Mustang Hardtop
Great looking car! Too bad the wing windows did not work out, that's what makes the car a 67.
Just got into to do u paid the interior as well do I sand the whole thing or what kind of paint u recommend

It has been awhile since I have built the kit. I guess I just changed my mind at the time. I didn't think it mattered to the viewers.

I love Testors Extreme lacquer, I just wish they made them in normal, non metallic, colors like black, red, blue, yellow, ect...

Testors sells their own thinner, but mineral spirits will work just the same.

Really like the color. Nice build. Thanks for posting.
Im sorry if this is a dumb question im just getting into this, but is building the 1/25 scales the same as building the originals?
