The 2024 Arctic Strategy calls attention to China’s activities in the Arctic region against a background of deepening Sino-Russian collaboration. Although the document considers cooperation with allies and partners as central to regional stability and US security interests, US Indo-Pacific partners are never mentioned directly. As a launch for her paper, "Indo-Pacific Lens on the Arctic: How US Partners in Asia View Arctic Security and Governance," EWCW RICE recipient Dr. Elizabeth Wishnick will explore the perspectives of Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and India regarding Arctic governance and security and what this means for the United States.
