We visit Weston Super Mare Somerset for a walk along the seafront and beach from Birnbeck Pier and Anchor Head, round to Marine Lake, Knightstone Road and Seafront Promenade and then round to Royal Parade and Grand Pier before finishing at Weston Super Mare beach just off Marine Parade! Phew! quite a walk eh! We also get to see Funland Theme Park, Tropicana, The Big Wheel and of course Pirate Adventureland.
Fancy a seaside holiday on the beach, paddling in the sea, walking along the promenade or enjoying a walk on the pier? Maybe you prefer amusement arcades, funfair rides or just sitting and enjoying a drink in a bar or restaurant with great views. If that's what you like then Weston Super Mare is well worth a visit.
It has everything from old disused piers (the Birnbeck Pier), sea views, a marine lake, a water adventure play park and so much more.
Before package holidays became a thing our seasides were much busier but the quieter a seaside is the more space you and your family have to spend your holiday on the beach, or get a donkey ride along the sand, or get a place in a cafe on the pier!
Some of the hotels we see on this seaside beach walk include the Premier Inn, The Grand Atlantic Hotel and The Royal and we see other attractions on the seafront including the Winter Gardens.
Other places around Weston Super Mare include Clevedon, Portishead, Brean, Watchet and Sand Bay Beach which are all close by.

It lies by the Bristol Channel 20 miles south west of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. It includes the suburbs of Mead Vale, Milton, Oldmixon, West Wick, Worlebury, Uphill and Worle"

Hi my name is David smith,I have great memories. of Weston I am 67 and used to come to Weston when I was about 12 or 13,my mom was totally blind and she used to stop at the lauriston hotel for the blind layer for by the RNIB and me and my dad would come to we'd get a bed and breakfast it was a lovely and very memorial holiday. If I'm not mistaken there was a concrete circular pool on the beach always filled with water because of high tide, mom and dad bought me a small sailing yacht used to put it in the pond,what memories
Loved it born and bred in wsm in the early 50s but sadly left in 1982 the walk brought back so many happy memories of my childhood at the seafront knightstone baths , open air swimming pool happy days thankyou

Love somerset it's beautiful. I think that was a bandstand in the Victorian times, could be wrong but it looks like a bandstand.
Grew up in Weston in the 1960s. Haven't been back since the 80s. Fascinating to see it now. Amazed the Wurzels are still going. Thanks for the video.

I live in Weston. Grew up here. Escaped for 14 years (Maidenhead, then Oxford) and somehow am now stuck in the town again! Can’t say I like it much. Town centre is ghastly and depressing. ( no decent shops/ empty shops) But the sea front is nice. Especially the Victorian side.

I had a few hours once in Weston before flying back to Italy from Bristol airport. I thought it was quite run down really.
Well my eye's were everywhere.like a kid in a candy shop.oh what memories.mu Mum. Sister .myself and my Daughter used to holiday in weston from when my Daughter was age 4 to age eleven.that was when i was 27.im 76 now.i cannot believe Smith's .the thatched cottage are still there.and no i don't like crazy golf but you you have a go.i see that the sweet shop that used to be across the road from the main pier is now a chip shop..i alwats got my coconut ice from there .and then chocolate doughnuts from the pier..but times change i know but that was wonderfull to see good old Weston.thank you for reminding me of those happy times. The two islands you can see steep holm and flat holm my Daughter used to ask every year what they were called.we said they were called current bun.and iced roll. She thought it was wonderfull.

Hi Neil, for campers & caravaners there is Brean sands. It's just round the coast by 5 miles or so , only a smallish town sorounded by lots of camp sites. The beach is in walking distance , small fair for young children + usual seaside fare & shops, open air weekend market. Very nice place for short hikes or dog walking. L

This is great! The one and only time I've been there it poured with rain. It's lovely to see it in the sunshine. I think one of my favourite actors, Rupert Graves.is also from Weston. Thanks so much for this.

Hello Neil, always enjoy your videos thank you. Stayed a night in Western a long, long time ago, on our way back from Cornwall. You want new ideas, Lyndhurst, Lymington, and over to the Isle of Wight. Lots of lovely places to film there.
I watched your video and I have been to Weston super mare so many times in the past, but it has been quite a few years since I was last there!. It's changed so much ,I don't recognise it, it's been pedestrianised and new buildings have been built and I don't recognise the bit of Weston by the harbour, is it new because I've never noticed it before!. I didn't notice any seaside beach shops like there used to be, hope there's still some around Weston, was hoping to visit there this summer and hope I'm not disappointed by the changes.

Just a note, Marine lake was being drained and mud removed, built up over time and is now open and more swimmers are enjoying the lake, also Gary Moore the singer lived weston

Was there three weeks ago such a shame one Street back from the front all the shops are shut derelict disposal place to what it used to be and the beach was empty when I was there not a sore in the donkeys weren’t there
I was hoping to see Flowerdown House at 55 Beach Road, it was an RAFA hotel (providing care for folks in need of it & a lovely retreat for the rest of us) catering for past & present RAF service personnel & their families & closed due to Covid-19. Greatly missed by those of us who liked staying there, miss the staff too.
Will try and see if I can film it on the next trip there for you!

Lovely place to have a holiday, near to South wales, quality hotels at reasonable cost. definitely recommend for families and the elderly, something for everyone.just breath in that sea air, you will want to come back year after year.

I love Somerset never been to Weston super mare though, i went to minehead and Dunster village & the Castle a few years back, i want to go to Cheddar gorge next, you should check out more of Devon too that has some lovely areas, Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe, Clovely, Dartmouth, Brixham harbour are places i've been and loved, also the county of Dorset like Sandbanks, Bournemouth, the Jurassic coast, durdle door if you have never been.
I grew up near weston super mud - what's in those gated off sections at 15 mins? What are they for? I've never seen them before?

I get that’s your personal view and your taste but maybe think about the person on the other end of your comments
