I love that every lyric in this is an accurate portrayal of who Zero is across the entirety of both MegaMan X and Zero series. I especially love the classic "what am i fighting for" which, beyond the meme, represents the inner turmoil and anguish Zero goes through, and the bit where he says he is the Alpha, Zero is his name. Maybe i'm a nerd, but i can't help but love that since his contrasting opposite is Omega Zero, the one who stole his body.

Not as much as the Quarter Guy does, but yes.
Except the parts about him being "programmed" to do something. The whole point of him is that he was certainly built for a purpose, but by design, he wasn't "programmed" to kill. The Zero virus was a complex program that manipulated Reploids on a more psychological level to make them do another's bidding (Wily's) as a means of controlling artificial beings with free will.

@@anexistingperson8540 The main factor that makes a maverick is the desire to cause destruction or harm to humans. The resistance only wants to be able to live in peace without the constant threat of death. Elpizo on the other hand wanted to destroy neo Arcadia, making him a maverick, omega also fits that bill, especially considering the whole elf war. Zero technically become maverick at the end of zero 4 by killing weil, but we all know that it was definitely a good call.

The fucking feels from including “What am I fighting for?” at 0:33...I just imagine as Zero kneels down in the desert there, it’s flashing between the Maverick Hunter in the present, and his counterpart in the past, as he screams out those five words with his beloved Iris dead in his arms. As if his mind has forgotten, but his body remembers, just like how his body just seems to know Copy X is inferior to the original, as a ruler and a fighter...powerful stuff.
Yet his body is revealed to be a copy in Zero 3, because the original was stolen in the end of Maverick Wars

Every time I hear "A madman's design, with a geinus' spark" I don't think just about Wily, but instead Dr. Light through Zero's possible basis off of Blues, or through X's friendship, or X himself being the geinus. It makes me happy :]
I like to think that’s it’s Light, THROUGH X, Light poured everything he was into X, his morality, his emotions, his dreams and that is what helped zero become who he is now

As a huge Mega Man fan and ESPECIALLY Mega Man Zero, this is badass. Tying the lyrics so deep to Zero's origins and all the things he goes through, as well as his mentality, is brilliant. Well done, sir!
Zero is probably the deepest character in the entire main Megaman universe... because Battle Network's Zero.EXE is not Zero, just a bad guy who does bad guy things, kinda like Shadow in Sonic Boom. (Hey, that's another thing the edgy boys have in common)

"Born in the shadow with blade of the light": He was created by Wily who always was scheming in the darkness but once awakened the hunters gave them a saber something that wasn't part of his original design and started to fight for the good
"Maverick Hunter from Maverick Born": he was released at the beginning of the X saga alongside the Maverick virus as also he was the first reason for the Virus spreading. He was supposed to be a Maverick but instead, he became the best Hunter
"I'm the start and the end of this war": Basically yes, the reason of Sigma became a Maverick is that he fought Zero when he was released and he became infected giving start to the whole X saga, then the elf wars as his original body became the Omega's source of power as he was the one who put an end to Weil in MmZ4
"Woke from the nothing, with gun at my hand": as in the MmZ1 start and in the film short "The day of Sigma" Zero was awakened only with a buster.
"Everything falls and yet here I will stand": He was locked at the OG Megaman era that era falls as is said that X is way more advanced that the majority of the MmX era so some catastrophe happened and Zero is the exact same case also he survived the Elf wars and in the end, he is locked again with a new body and losing all his memories in MmZ. Then Mmz era awakened AGAIN and "dies" with the fall of Ragnarok space station but then his remains were used to create the Biometal Z and so he survives until the MmZX era. He has the Krillin virus
"I am the alpha, and Zero's my Name!": Probably a reference to Omega and the fact that his existence caused all the events from MmX To MmZXA
"War after War": he has been in the fight against Sigma and the Mavericks also he has been in the elf Wars and in the fight against Neo Arcadia and Weil, in the fight against Serpent (antagonist of MmZX if you don't knew it) and in the Game of destiny of Master Albert (also the antagonist) from MmZXA

I just gotta correct one thing: He doesnt live on through Model Z as it's not actually him. His DATA was used for it, but not his very DNA Soul. He dies for good in MMZ4
@@SleepyReapy32 Yeah biometals in ZX is more of an "Essence" - they represent distilled form of their power and ideals - rather than revived warriors of old in a new form. And each of them need "compatible" host.
Zero's story truly ends in MMZ4... And to be fair... He did manage to give both reploids and humanity second chance and next 100 years before ZX happened was pretty nice w/o world wide conflicts - Life well lived.

As cool as it might be, I can't help but wonder how close his version of lyrics for the X vs Zero theme would be to the song X-Buster, which used a remix of that theme. I'm certain that his version of the theme will be his own but I imagine some overlap if I'm honest.

Huh the fact I listened to Cannonball first since it is what introduced me to you channel. The fact these two go together makes me smile.
Thank you good sir for this one. As Mega Man fan, and especially of the X and Zero series, this is so good. The lyrics just fit him so well. It feels like Zero is looking back at his past after recovering his memories. It feels like this is be something that Zero would leave as a gift for everyone before dying. New headcannon: Zero sang this as his last words after defeating Weil, and was able to send the data back to Ciel, where they would remove the noise from the recording and kinda rebuild it, and create the instrumental of the song.
That explains why it almost sounds like a lament with a hint of determination, like he has to hold on long enough to get this back to everyone.
The sheer energy of this song and rendition of it sends shivers up and down my spine! This entire channel, your guys's entire career, and everything else you guys have made it really does fit that particular line of the song Madman's design with a genius' spark!" Never thought I'd see Mega Man Zero show up on this channel, and I definitely wasn't disappointed with how it turned out. Incredible work, and it'd be nice to see some other Mega Man songs pop up in the future from all the different series, like Cannon Ball or Armored Armadillo's theme.

Wow, I really love this MOTI, I may of never had the chance to play Zero or Megaman X, but I have been a fan of the music from all sorts of Megaman games for awhile. Of all your works, I still hold snake man on a high pedastal, as well as a few others like Grimm, Champion of Destruction, and even Terra's theme. This feels like this one could easily be looped, and having a 1 hour of this, or a loop friendly of Dark Pit's theme would be nice, since that is what got me hooked on your channel way back then.

Zero is like Raiden from Metal Gear Rising. He fights because he has to until the end of Zero 1 and then when Zero 2 came out it showed Zero trying to find the Resistance but we have yet to know where Raiden is because Platinum Games has yet to give us a Metal Gear Rising 2
This came out just early enough I missed the release - and still regret it! While not , you cover every aspect of his character with the aptitude of whoever should've written X4's cutscenes! Speaking of which... nice touch.
