    Good info and great video, as always! We have just begun diversifying this year with stacking and collecting, both bullion and 90%. You made a ton of great points here. One I'd suggest to folks is.........patience! Precious metals definitely isn't a quick 'bang for your buck' game. Don't get overcome by the shiny things and pay too high of a premium. Patience is key. You CAN still find some steals out there (although fewer and further in between) but you need to be vigilant. And don't forget one of the best parts of collecting 90% - that familiar, lovely jingling silver sound! :)

    Hi, Silver Seeker, I am a new comer to precious metals. I am doing exactly what you recommend: learning all I can from TH-cam and books, surfing the internet, visiting coin shops, etc. I am really enjoying "stacking silver." I really believe , like you, that silver and gold are real money. I believe silver and gold will hold their value and will increase in value when fiat currencies collapse and hyper-inflation explodes! I Enjoy the metals - I think they are aesthetically appealing and I am all in - gloves, holders, etc.

    I have a tendency to call Constitutional money pre-1933 gold/silver.
    I heard you slip up a few times calling fiat currency money. Gold/silver is the money. ;)
    You are right... if you sell gold/silver for fiat currency, there's a risk that the fiat will be of less value the next day.
    That's why I am holding.... because the only sensible thing to do, if selling, is to sell for a fiat profit in the hopes of buying more gold/silver at a lower price.
    I'd love to get a metal verifier, but it cost about a 1/2 oz of gold for the good one.

  • @afoot4silver800
    @afoot4silver800 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    Just my two cents, seeing some comments I think it’s worth mentioning there’s a huge difference between stacking and collecting. One is intrinsic value the other is numismatic value. During a hyper inflation scenario the numismatic value will fall off. Wearas the intrinsic value will be stable or even increase.
    Few people will be willing to buy or trade equal goods and services for that $300 Morgan dollar when it’s intrinsic value might only get you a tank of gas.

      Its fun to have weight and numismatics

    • @daysofcarnivore
      @daysofcarnivore 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A sincere question then... not trying to be smart... why then do all these silver stackers I watch wear gloves when they handle bullion. It's a mixed message to say the worth is in the silver itself and then worry about the lustre (you see what I'm saying?). If the value was the metal, it wouldn't matter if there were fingerprints. There is clearly some "collecting" or numismatic value in these bullion coins.

    I believe some silver eagles carry a premium as well as maples such as the 1996 which were low mintages in both the U.S. and Canada.If people are worried about fakes,Sunshine Mint has anti-counterfeiting mint marks on their bars and rounds and they sell a mint mark decoder that can be purchased to show their mint marks which are not visible otherwise.

    • @paulrichards383
      @paulrichards383 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All those coins carry a premium.
      Obviously, a stacker wouldn't stack a '96 ASE unless he/she was stacking back
      in '96 when the price was great.
      I haven't heard any stackers stacking ASE now because the consensus is that the premium is too high. They are spoiled by the last few years of low premiums.
      Prior to the last few days, since silver is up, I got a few 2020 Britannia for under $19.50 pre-tax and some 2020 Maples for under $20.50 pre-tax. I didn't buy a huge amount because I believe that there will be a dip in silver and gold, and I want to keep some fiat (cash) to take advantage of it. I could be wrong, yet what if I am not?

    I bought some constitutional silver lately.
    5 DM coins and 10 dm coins from Germany but also some higher premium silver on eBay.
    Fact is.
    Lately silver demand for the best known silver Buillon was extremely high and prices were extreme.
    But I found some sem8numesmatic stuff on ebay, esp from dealers selling coins over and over again on auctions.
    So I bought a proof Rwanda coin from 2012 (a mistake, I ordered the 2017) for 40 dollar and a collector coin 2020, normally cost 60 dollar from Perth mint for 45 dollar.
    On the other side I bought old dmark coin with a garantueed value in case of massive silver drop.
    For the constitutional silver I bought for maybe 18 dollar per ounce.
    The Rwanda collector coin and some other price was much lower then the average ebayprice before Corona when silver was at 19 dollar.
    What I want to say is, coins like maple leaf price was extreme, even with silver price as low as 12 dollar, they costed 26 dollar,while even many sem8numesmatic coins costed less or older years normally having higher prices costed less.
    So many cried while saying, I had opportunity to sell cheaper but no supply.
    If the had tons of like maple leaf, they could buy these for 24 dollar at a silver price 14,while they buy junk silver for 17 or sem8numesmatic.
    Selling Buillon for 24 dollar while silver price is 14,normally is the best you can do and I wonder people didn't but payed 10 dollar over spot.

    • @paulrichards383
      @paulrichards383 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's only if you are a stacker/prepper only. Naturally, stick to better $ per oz.
      Even to stick with the above coins may put you into a collector status.
      I admit that I have one coin that I bought for a little over $50. I don't plan to trade it for a loaf of bread.
      I also have my limit. I typically don't buy proof coins or slabs. I have just a few.
      I am not the guy who pays $2000+ for an older "rare" Morgan Dollar. $20 for 1921 is good enough, but I don't even see that low of a price for them any more.
      P.S. the silver is the money so technically it's not a waste. Collector coins just don't have as good of a fiat per ounce ratio. I do agree that getting as much ounces would be best if you're primarily a prepper/stacker.

      Oof I disagree with that statement because it depends on the market. Spot price isn't always indicitve of the physical market.

    To all those who follow history.History always repeats itself. 2011 silver? Let's see. Will a history pattern turn full circle? Take a chance.Why not.Without risk will be no reward. I bet it will repeat. Goodluck! God bless you all.

    I don't think its time to buy silver, its very overpriced now unless you are thinking to sell it in the next 40 years if you buy today you are losing money.

  • @justsaying46
    @justsaying46 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only people buying silver are the people that haven't tried to sell their silver. Unless there's a shtf scenario you might as well be collecting shiny stamps.
