    Buying gold seems pretty great. You’re able to hard-lock your money into a form that’s got a barrier to selling. This would be good for someone trying to save up a large amount of money… to buy a house. This is a stable metal. Very very nice.

I have done business with before buying graduation coins for Grads one year they gave me a nice box to keep the coin in that made it a very nice gift. Now the Gold coin I'm glad I learn it needs to be in a capsule to protect it.

    In December 1997, The Financial Times ran an article entitled “The Death of Gold.” Since then, the gold price in US dollars has increased 519% from $288 to $1,780. Today, after many political events and crises we have evidence of the continuous and in many ways spectacular growth of the gold price. This confluence of many current events is creating a perfect storm for gold to increase dramatically more than we imagined.

    Fun and useful fact for you guys if you sell over $10,000 in gold in a day make sure they're american gold eagles and you won't need to fill out an IRS form with your transaction therefore it doesn't get reported to the IRS. Nice tip if you want to get the most out of your investment and it is 100% legal.
    Great video your description of how things work is pretty "spot" on haha! I work at a coin shop and depending on supply and demand we will usually do $10 over spot for an unscratched/ undamaged 1oz/fractionals etc. coin because we believe in keeping our client base happy and its much cheaper than buying from the whole seller at $50.00 - $60.00 over spot while keeping that wiggle room for profit. Thank you for explaining to the new comers it helps us all!

    Very informative and interesting to watch! Just a quick correction, the Kruger Rand pre dates the Maple Leaf as the first and oldest Bullion gold coin first minted in 1967. The Boers surpassed California in world gold production in the 19th century which led the British to invade the independent Boer Republic of the Traansvaal (Paul Kruger was the President of the Traansvaal Republic) where 3 quarters of the worlds gold was mined, and subsequently kickstarted the Boer war of 1899 (bankers war!) "The rest is history" as they say.

    From an investment point of view, The Krugerrand is superior to the Gold Eagle( as well as the other major bullion coins) and I will explain why.
    Take $1,000,000 and divide it by the ask price for Gold Eagles then do the same for Krugerrands.
    Then multiply each by a $5000.00 future price, and assuming you would get spot back if you sold your krugs, and spot +$50 for the Eagles.
    With this hypothetical situation, you would be far ahead financially with the Krugerrands, because the extra gold you initially got with them and their lower premium appreciated significantly.
    Where as the money allocated towards the Eagles exra premium did not. Kruggerand > Eagle.

    • @2is1gold
      @2is1gold  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Gold coins, bars etc...are beautiful to hold in the hand & admire...spend some time with them! A legacy left for your kids! It's yours to hold & offers insurance/hedge in the future against a weak paper $! Nothing get's cheaper over time...a gross understatement that needs no verification! The operative word is "INFLATION"! Research gold history! Screw the bank...don't make them any richer! Get yourself a good house alarm system...NO(!)...get 2 house alarms (redundancy), external CCTV, a big heavy steel safe & bolt em down!!!
      P.S. Pay close attention to the world affairs & it's impact on the markets...geo political events, commodities etc...& gold prices (trending)! Buy when it's cheap, comfortable & affordable for you!

      That‘s because there was a time (give or take 100 years) where there this Gold was exactly worth that money. So you could exchange that coin with paper money. And you could buy stuff with it. It‘s called the Gold standard where there was exactly the amount of money in paperform as there was Gold. It even stood on the old USD Bill:“ In Gold coin payable to the bearer on demand“. Then came the decoupling of the Goldstandard from the USD. And the moneyprinting started. And here we are.

    I'd recommend coins too. They're much easier to verify that they're genuine when you have them without capsule. You can do all sorts of non destructive measuring and testing and if you're just a little bit of knowledable you can be 100% sure that the coin you have in your hands is genuine. Bars are harder to verify. Sure you can take them out of the certificate such is typically in and measure it but then you'll loose money the day you sell them. On top of that because of their shape they don't have as well defined ping tone to it as coins.
    On the other hand bars can be easier to store as long as you don't buy very small ones and if you like the idea of them having a serial number then sure bars is for you. But to really gain storage benefits you need to go for at least 50 gram and preferably 100 gram and for most people with todays gold prices that is a really large amount. Bottom line stick to coins. When you have enough you can consider storing them in Hartbergers instead.
