I bought hundreds of ozs. and had a friend send them to my sister's home back in the states.
All great points! The only question I would ask is about exit strategy. When I began a few months ago, once I began to understand premiums and spot price, that was my sole focus. In my area (South Austin, Texas) it seems that the local LCS establishments either are elite high capital requirement bullion dealers or places I wouldn't necessarily trust. It seems as though there's no in-between trustworthy LCS places like you and Yankee are fortunate enough to have. Thus, finding a place to eventually sell off some of my stack is going to be a real challenge.
I would consider purchasing or selling to the larger companies such as Apmex or US gold bureau. The overhead is usually a bit lower for the transaction.

Though I do agree with you on dollar cost averaging, I disagree with the amount per purchase, I recommend to meet the threshold of 1500 dollars per purchase. #1 reason is there are no taxes above 1500 dollars. # 2 if you cannot save up 1500 dollars, chances are you will end up needing to sell your stack to pay the bills. #3 The larger the purchase the lower per coin cost, this can be substantial, Apmex typical spread is 2 dollars. Right now per 1500 dollars the spread is equal to 4 ounces or 37 ounces per monster box . that's my 2 cents
I would never recommend a bank to store my gold. Safety deposit boxes are not FDIC insured, if a bank closes, or brought by another bank, it might take a while to get to your safety deposit box. If the government decides to have a bank holiday, they could essentially take your gold. I would recommend a heavy fire proof safe in a well hidden place in your home. I also have a question. When you go to a new lcs, do you bring a magnet and scale with you and do a ping test? Besides that, great video as usual!
Also I think that the ping test app is excellent, costs a few dollars and compliments other testing methods. Many government bullions also have security features such as radial lines and micro engravings
@@SilverDragons47 fake coins are capable of passing the sigma where a ping test can pick up on it No test is completely full proof except for melting it down 😆
When you weigh a coin, shouldn't you also verify that it corresponds to the expected volume? I suppose that you need to have a special vessel that makes it easier to read, something with a very narrow spout beyond the room for the 1OZ coin + water. I suppose a caliper can be used, but since coins aren't completely flat, its not as precise as submerging it.

My local coin dealer sells tarnished American Silver Eagles for one dollar over spot. What is the typical buyback on silver that is tarnished like an American silver eagle?
Thanks, I plan to make my initial junk silver purchase today. I plan to invest at least $150-200 and want to make sure I make the right choice as far as who I buy from. I'll be shopping online bc I live in a pretty remote area but I always research the reputations of online businesses before I spend my $ so I'm hoping it goes well. Is 15x face value pretty acceptable rn? I last heard a junk silver dime ia worth appx. $1.40 so 15x sounds pretty good to me but I know very little of this game. I appreciate the videos!
Thank you for the interesting video. Do you own gold and silver in a particular ratio, eg 10 ounces of silver to 1 ounce of gold? If so, what is that ratio and your rationale? Thanks.
I have my "reservations" about buying from places such as "Bradford Exchange". They claim one of their coin collections is "90% fine silver". Their price however wouldn't suggest they are being "hones" on this. Ideas aside from stay the hell away from them? Lol
When stocks go down silver and gold should go up in price, and vice versus. Am I not right? Why are they both dropping at the same time!? Manipulated much?
@@SilverDragons47 Hands down the government/ banks control silver and gold price by manipulating the market with printed money. JP Morgan is a prime example. Only a matter of time in my opinion until it explodes.
Do you reccomend having an "x weight value" to keep as a stockpile? As in, you should keep 20-40ozt on hand and once you get over that weight start selling /trading the "excess"? Hope this makes sense.
I'm a beginner, I enjoy this video. Is the spot value and face value the same and where would this tool here like me go to look for prices of silver and gold so and can gage it when to buy and not to

very nice my friend! the heavier the better 😁🔥🐉
Great video and very informative! Thank you
awesome thanks so much for watching my friend! 🔥🐉
My local coin dealer sells tarnished American Silver Eagles for one dollar over spot. What is the typical buyback on silver that is tarnished like an American silver eagle?
probably the same as generics... I would buy em all and clean em! 😂🔥🐉
Great 👍 vid.. wanting to start ASAP..
It was value added.ill subscribe. any update since this vid
I love this guy.
What do you mean by gold to silver ratio? I'm just starting to buy, I have about 15oz in silver. 5 grams of gold. And 5 grams of platinum....
Thank you for the interesting video. Do you own gold and silver in a particular ratio, eg 10 ounces of silver to 1 ounce of gold? If so, what is that ratio and your rationale? Thanks.
you are welcome! probably more like 300 to 1 right now 🤣🔥🐉
I stack generic rounds and maples and some junk
great way to do it! 🔥🐉
Very nice introduction to stacking. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
thanks so much! 🔥🐉
I have my "reservations" about buying from places such as "Bradford Exchange". They claim one of their coin collections is "90% fine silver". Their price however wouldn't suggest they are being "hones" on this. Ideas aside from stay the hell away from them? Lol
Awesome video thanks for sharing.
Very good points, SD. Well done.
thanks so much my friend! 🔥🐉
When stocks go down silver and gold should go up in price, and vice versus. Am I not right? Why are they both dropping at the same time!? Manipulated much?
no they go down together at first... same thing happened in March 🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 Hands down the government/ banks control silver and gold price by manipulating the market with printed money. JP Morgan is a prime example. Only a matter of time in my opinion until it explodes.
Most banks/investor will sell to cover their margin calls when the price drops. Is what I’ve heard at least. This is often followed by a trend up
How can I buy silver if they charge tax for under 1,500 purchase? I like to buy often but I can't spend so much every month 😔
oh do you live in California? we don’t have any sales tax in Oregon 🤷🏽♂️🔥🐉
Always enjoy the vids, SD.
thanks so much! 🔥🐉
Looking forward to starting this new hobby! Thanks!
awesome best of luck with the stack my friend! 🔥🐉
I’m sooo fed up of silver coins milk spotting, mints really have to sort this out.
All great advice! Thanks!!
Start in 1981 like @Yankee Stacking 👌
I wasn’t even born for another decade 😂🔥🐉
I was born in 81 lol
2001 anyone? 👀🤣
I must be around his age…old. My pocket change is collectable! 😂
Where do u find 1 or $2 over spot?? Unless your buying large I don't see anything out there
There is no coin shop in my area 😢
Top video, mate.. Hope you are well.I would like to get silver Eagle or a Kennedy on day.
thanks a bunch my friend! i’m sure you will 👍🏽🔥🐉
Do you reccomend having an "x weight value" to keep as a stockpile? As in, you should keep 20-40ozt on hand and once you get over that weight start selling /trading the "excess"?
Hope this makes sense.
Please rephrase your question.
Good video. Thank you.👍
Does silver need to be stored individually, in tubes, etc.? Do you combine the metals when you buy from different online sellers or does it matter.
Buying silver definetly is an addiction.. with the prices beginning to go up i might start too load up on junk silver
A dollar over spot I’d buy everything they have up here in Canada we’re looking at anywhere from $8.50 to $10 over spot.
Really great info. Thanks
I'm a beginner, I enjoy this video. Is the spot value and face value the same and where would this tool here like me go to look for prices of silver and gold so and can gage it when to buy and not to
Hi SilverDragons, I'm a big fan, started silver stacking due to your channel. I'm from the Philippines hence i can't seem to find any local coin shop selling silver coins. I've also checked online dealer but no option for my country. Do you have any suggestion where can shop instead aside from ebay? Thank you 😊
I would try to find some local sellers... maybe etsy, craigslist, letgo, gumtree, offerup... whatever they have there 🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 Thanks alot man. I really appreciate it, looking forward for your future videos. Your videos help us alot specially us beginners. Kudos man 🙏
Jewelry stores. You may want to consider investment grade jewelry rather than coins/bars/rounds. Investment grade gold jewelry is 22kt. It is HUGE in India and much of the Middle East. I don't know if there is much of a investment grade silver jewelry scene.
