- In my recent 2024 NHL Mock Draft simulation, the Montreal Canadiens with the 9th overall pick SKIPPED on Ivan Demidov AND Berkly Catton to select... Liam Greentree

No way they leave Demidov on the board at 9. He won't be available there anyway.
Michkov and Demidiv situations are completely different. Not the same prospect because they are both Russian
The current year of the draft really has a lot of defence men available and Montreal is top heavy with those.
The Monahan trade is a clear signal, Montreal will go down in the rankings. I hope the priority is on Cayden Lindstrom or Demidov. Lindstrom is a perfect fit with his talent, weight and total commitment. Demidov is a magician with a great attitude and a short contract. He'll be available at the end of 24-25.
Lindstrom was taken 3rd in his video so that wasnt an option, i also dont think lindstrom or demidov falls to 9
@@zoink1387 Well if you check the standings we are picking 7 now... Can always trade up or down. We have too many defensive prospects that some teams might want.
@@zoink1387 For the same reasons Montreal drafted Rienbacher last year, some teams could draft D's before Demidov or even Lindstrom. There are two or three excellent D's prospects available this year.
And, it's also possible Montreal slips a few ranks lower.
MTL's gonna fall and pick like 3-6 again this year I believe. No way that at least Ottawa and Buffalo end up behind them
Demitov will go 2 or 3. Right now he's only got one year left on his Russian contract. Although would not be surprised if he reaps 3 years. Future Hawk with Bedard.
If the Habs are TRULY thinking about drafting Greentree I would much rather them move the pick for a top 6 in the NHL already, My opinion Greentree is a 3rd line player in the NHL…. The Habs need an offensive superstar I do not care about how well they play defence, We have enough defensive responsible players in the Top 6 and as we have seen with Caufield YOU CAN COACH A PLAYER TO PLAY DEFENCE 🤦🏼♂️ if the Habs are not drafting Iginla, Connelly, Catton, Demidov or Eiserman we should move the pick for an established Top 6 player like Zegras Just for example, DONT LOSE YOUR MINDS. I am not saying they should trade for Zegras, But a player with that level of talent.
I couldnt agree more it would be stupid to draft greentree
Eiserman isn’t what we really want. One trick poney and Grav explained why he keeps falling in the draft rankings. I’d rather take Iginla
@@sir.splashtheiii6272 Yes I agree, But there are scouts like Pierre McGuire who has watched Eiserman in person this season lots of times and he says Eiserman has the potential to be a superstar player with the right development… The Habs have proven their development has become Top Notch so I wouldn’t be worried if we took him, He does have the best shot in this draft… I would rather take Iginla over Eiserman I do agree and I have seen Iginla play in person 7 times this season and I was blown away each time… Iginla would fit this team and in my opinion is a 30-40 goals power forward that wins you playoff games by the time he’s 20 years old… He plays like his father and I hope the Habs draft em, With our development staff I believe the Habs will get the most out of Iginla… I won’t be worried if we draft Eiserman I would just rather Iginla…
@@Wegogymbabayyyy Yeah he’s not the greatest prospect… he’s did produce pretty well for the horrible team he was on, But in my opinion Tij Iginla, Eiserman, Catton will be available when we pick 6,7,8 or 9 and Iginla is the best out of the 3 in my opinion… I know Catton had an elite season, But I don’t care about the points, Personally I look at how their games translate to the NHL and Tij Iginla’s game translates perfectly to the NHL he’s good to be a great player… Brayden Point was a guy that slipped and didn’t produce crazy numbers, But Brayden Points style of play translated perfectly to the NHL, I see the same for Iginla… People are gonna say he was projected to go 14-10 but should have went 7th or 6th and if the Habs pick Iginla 7th or 6th that pick will look very good….
@@Wegogymbabayyyy if the Habs Did take Greentree I wouldn’t be happy but I would keep an open mind, Because he reminds me of Jason Robertson… Horrible skater but great shot and smart with size…
I think Habs will.draft lower like 5th
I see Ottawa and Minnesota finishing ahead
I think 6th or 7th. Hopefully top 5 or higher with some luck!
@@kingofmemes5017 lets go top 5
Only reason habs didnt take Michov was his attitude...Demidov apparently is way more down to earth
No way Habs pick Liam Greentree. They will pick somewhere around #5 to #7 because they will trade veteran assets and will drop down further by end of season so they will choose Cayden Lindstrom assuming he is still available. With so many good Dmen available as well as dynamic players like Celibrini, Demidov and Eiserman, I think Lindstrom will be there for them at # 5 or 6.
They would absolutely select demidov at 9 lol what are you talking about sir
Hans don’t have the 9th. Did in was you right? Greentree could go to them at 26th. At 5th? Insane.
This would be so fun to watch😆
Tij Iginla
Greentree could fit in that Monahan slot on the PP. Bumper or in front of the net.
If one of Demidov or Lindstrom is available when we pick, it will be one of them. If not, we are picking defenseman Parekh or Buium.
Hoping for lindstrom
Won’t be around for 9th
Did anyone else notice the Cowser Topps stamp in a different place at 2:51?
No they draft cole eiserman
Habs need wing and goal cole eiserman is 6 foot and 200 pound 68 points and 38 goal is our guy
Whoever they pick, he will be overblown by the fans.
And then he will disappoint. As usual.
Caufield is the greatest « consistent 40-goal scorer » who never scored 30! 😂
im dreaming f Cayden Lindstrom
Greentree needs to add speed and apparently is individualistic when he plays.
Habs has the 5th overall, not the 9th
were at 1 period to draft 7th or better
Why 9th were 5th
Montreal picks 9?
How about how punch imlach for the Sabres used a late pick to pick a non existant player named taro tygumoto of the Japanese hockey league because all of the fanfare & how long it took to complete the draft annoyed him. After the leafs owner fired him after the Stanley cup champion leaf team in 1967 he became the coach & g.m. of the expansion Sabres to spite ballard. He convinced the legendary Tim Horton to play for the Sabres. His biggest regret Is Tim demanded punch to deliver a new Ford Pantera to him personally. The car Tim died in. All punch would say is he always hated that car. By the way 1967 was the last Time the leafs won the cup.
Habs are currently slotted in at 6, not 9.
Habs are currently slotted in at 5, not 6.
I need him to be in a Pats uniform
Hughes is going to pick stupid defense man again.
Ivan demadome? Owner of the dimsdale dema-dome?
Wait for the rest of the tank. 9th is too high, unless they lose the lottery.
9th???
big stretch
9th?? Wtf dude.
They will pick Michael Brandsegg-Nygard
Michkov has so many more issues than Demidov so ur reasoning makes no sense lmao
Talk louder why don’t you 😂
You are out to lunch bud
Whooooo????
Why do you yell
No
fail, as usual
Nah mtl is going with another off the board pick., a kid rank in the mid 20’s. @3$&^@!
?
Canadiens Suck! -Bruins Fan
not the point of the video but ok
@@recalled4525I know, I’m just making it clear.
No 💀💀💀💀
Berkely Catton is on pace to score 114 points in his draft year. Sorry, you don't pass that kind of skill up at pick #9. He's also 5"11 170, that's perfectly fine size for a 17 year old
You nail it bud!!!
Sorry but neither one of you is a pro scout. Bud.
@@user-bi6cl9rt9o sorry but who are you Mr pro scout
His pases are insane!
I really want Demidov but if we select Liam Greentree I wouldn’t be mad
If he is the pick at 9, someone is getting fired.
@@michaelwou1667 Liam Greentree?
@@jdiabo16 Correct. At 9, you can draft Helenius, Buium, Parekh, Catton, Iginla or Yakemchuk. If we pick Greentree, someone is getting fired for gross negligence.
@@michaelwou1667 we don’t need a defender again and Catton will fall out of the top 10 because it’s pretty much the same story as Andrew Cristall because he has Offense but that’s it!, and id take Greentree over Iginla any day and Helenius is a Boring player who will be a 3rd line Center in the NHL and the Habs are into big body players for a 1st round pick
