Glad to hear Citroen / PSA / Stellantis customer service has not changed. Back in 2006 Citroen stiffed me on a vehicle. Refused to acknowledge anything, sadly back then I lost good money on the deal. From that point on, I tell everyone to avoid a PSA built vehicle. The cars might be better now, but my memory of how they treated me goes a long, long way.

Hes decided to keep it now from the most recent video , cant blame him as if its working ok and is safe then best just live with the faults , hopefully Citroen gave him some money back as compensation.

This is why i see a lot of dealers pretending to be private sellers nowadays as then you can just put Sold as seen no warranty given or implied and honestly i don't blame them , I mean if I'm buying a car for like £500 or £1000 i would expect issues and would expect to be having to pay probably £500 on top to fix said issues but in your case where you have spent £8 grand for a new Ami you would expect it to be immaculate not have the faults you pointed out sadly I've seen many others on TH-cam who have had issues much more serious ones with things like poor welds breaking across the chassis , bolts falling off the front where the plastic bodywork attaches and other things , I think its just laziness on Citroens part they need to really improve their QC .

Hi Barrie, I've had my Ami since June 18th. have done 850 miles and love it. No rattles no leaks, a very solid little vehicle. gets a lot of attention, turns heads and is a great conversation piece. Would you accept another if they offered a swap?

i specifically liked the Vibe, and they dont make that anymore, I'm also aginst waste so i think it would be stupid to change the door and the body just for a cosmetic issue, but i also think that I shouldnt have to pay for their incompetence either, so if they weere fair with me i would just keep this one as its ideal for me travelling to work and back

Sorry to hear about your Ami/Citroen problems. It was interesting hearing about customers being dicks. It works both ways of course, from experience I know at least one car dealer is a total dick too. Anyway, hope you get sorted and you're able to make some Ami adventure videos. We have a Twizy and we love zooming about in it and the attention it gets.

Hi Barrie, what a terrible way you have been treated when you have given so much time and effort to making ownership a pleasurable experience.
I know deep down you want to keep the Ami and make it work for you.
Citroen should admit failure and give you the Ami with the refund you suggested.
You have been a great ambassador for Ami with the videos you have made and modifications too.
I love my Ami Vibe and have been fortunate in having just a small number of quality issues.
The design is fantastic but the quality does let it down in certain areas.
Like you l have fitted a number of extras which have enhanced the experience even more.
If Citroen do right by you then it will be great to continue to see your videos if not they should give all your money back. Good luck, Terry.

you know it's sad, I was actually genuinely considering buying an ami as my first ever 4 wheeled vehicle having ridden motorcycles till this point, it seems like the one electric car that actually makes a degree of practical and economic sense given the much cheaper cost of battery replacement ect than larger, faster evs but i keep hearing horror stories about how people are struggling with citroen's customer service and constant warnings about build quality issues that turn what should be an amazing little car for people like me who don't often go more than 15 miles from home into a liability.

Hi. As you know I cancelled my Ami Tonic order when the incorrect vehicle was delivered to Just Citroen having waited 4 months for the vehicle. The current online sales team is the third team dealing with the Ami. Each successive team saying they had been put in place to improve the online process and customer experience. Citroen appear to be failing badly in this respect particularly with customers that have issues that need rectifying and what’s most worrying is they don’t seem to care. I guess they hope that customers eventually will give up and move on. Good luck in resolving this….let’s hope the FIAT that’s on the horizon and their online sales team is a tad better than Citroen!

Aww, poo. 😞 Citroën [UK] needs a damn good slapping over the way it's handling the Ami. Are there ANY truly satisfied customers out there, or just lots of iffy chancers hoping for a load of Citroën freebies for overlooking the (allegedly) crappy ownership experience?
Please, happy customers, make your voices heard!

I like my Ami. Zero problems with the car. I love zooming all over London in it.
Customer service was a minor annoyance. 1) It was delivered very late. 2) I was highly pressured to pay the balance and pick it up after it finally did arrive on a week that was very inconvenient to me 3) they didn’t stamp my service booklet, but sent me an email weeks later saying not to worry and that their email reply was proof of warranty?! Anyway…
But yes, otherwise I love my Ami. It’s the perfect compliment to my other car for city duty! I drive the Ami a lot more than I imagined when I ordered it!

Not a Citroen and not an electric car but I've rejected my Seat Leon. The reason being a headlight fills with water when it rains - driving or not driving. It's a real safety hazard not just for me but also for other road users. (it's an LED unit)
I asked for the car to be collected (it's unsafe to drive and I'd get a ticket/fine) and Seat didn't even bother collecting it on the first occasion. When they did eventually collect it they didn't even bother looking at the light.
I spoke to the leasing company and provided video and photographs and they were horrified. They told me I should reject it immediately and I have.
My experience was so bad that despite me being a Seat customer for many years with other vehicles, I've completely left the brand.
Car manufacturers have gone very very bad now.

You called this a "car". It's a cheap quadricycle, a 4 wheeled covered moped that can't be compared to a car. It is manufactured in Morocco for southern climates and wasn't designed for the UK market at all. That's why it doesn't have a heater/demister and is poorly sealed against drafts. Citroen were pressured by the British to sell it here so I'm not surprised to see so many complaints.

    • @MyAmiVice

Sad that it has come to this end when you were trying to be a 'brand ambassador' for local mobility via the Ami. I can't understand why the Ami Team/customer relations Citroen UK don't have a better way of dealing with problems. Lots of companies, in my experience, can be poor at first in dealing with issues - but when you get to a certain level in the organisation with your complaint the 'switch' seems to be pulled and attitudes change to avoid more repetitional damage.

In Holland it's an Opel Rocks -E.
Hot glue and a hairdryer could fix it all... 😅
I love this car (yes I know, but for when my liscence has been taken due to age) but I think the first models are way better, they did something with the thickness.
About their attitude... they are (brand-) dealers... we all know how they act... jech

Sad to hear of your difficulties with Citroen. Still think the Ami is a great little car but just not your damaged one.
I usually buy Fiat's because I have a good relationship with my Fiat main dealer for the past 40+ years and around 8 different Fiat cars.
Looking saeriously at the Fiat Topolino version of the Ami - so long as Fiat don't overprice it.
Tim at Me and Mon Ami proves the Ami can be a good buy, as I said, just not your Monday morning built one.

Now I am no good at French but if that was my Ami and I was able to converse in the French language . I would get the " car " to France, go to Citroen HQ with signs saying what a load of rubbish and arrange for the French press to be there. No large company likes bad press . I do not have an Ami but 2 Citroen Berlingo a 2012 with 87000 miles on the clock from new & now a 2020 with approx. 11000 miles done from new few odds . We have had a few problems but nothing like yours , but different cars can have different problems

So, your 'Brand New' Citroen has pre-existing accident damage that was undisclosed? , shocking treatment and from what I hear, its not unusual, more like a standard operation, how many of these are being returned 😳 🤔
