TRADING PRICE ACTION (Validated by trading volume)

  • Trading price action is in essence what stock 'trading' is all about.
    Traders look for support, resistance, breakouts, breakdowns, dips and reversals, amongst others.
    Anna Coulling however rightly suggests that validation of any price action should be provided through trading volume.
    Trading volume provides clues into price action being true or false and often uncovers market manipulation.
    Trading volume and price action together can be a very powerful tool.

    I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, I'm noticing more red than green.

      As with an my big financial decision,it’s important to keep your guard’s up for economic risks.
      However, smart planning, time management and seeking advise from a financial adviser can help keep you and your money safe

      yes i agree and right now the markets are going berserk right now. This is the best time to watch them, get to know them better, and strike when the opportunity presents itself. I learned that from my mentor, ’’Dawn Maureen Humphrey “ she's seen dozens of market cycles over the past few decades, and she has a feel for how they move, why they move, and what comes next.

    You don’t always have to think long term. Investing/Trading is as much a tool for shaping your present financial situation as it is for forming your future one. Do you want to buy a BMW next year? Do you want to go on a cruise? Wouldn’t a vacation that was paid for with dividends feel nice?

    • @constanciacollene9585
      @constanciacollene9585 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are investing in the hope of buying a house, you will almost certainly be looking at longer-term instruments. If you are investing to buy a computer in the new year, you may want short-term investments that pay dividends or some high-yield bonds.

    • @jovangerard5402
      @jovangerard5402 ปีที่แล้ว

      The caveat here is that you need to pinpoint your goals first. If you want to go on a vacation in a year, you have to figure out the cost of the vacation and then come up with an investing strategy to meet that goal. If you don’t have a set goal, the money that should be going into that investment will doubtless be used for other purposes that seem more pressing at the time.

    The problem I have with volume is the market has to move first in order to see the volume bar in its entirety. By the time the volume bar shows itself the move has begun. I continue looking at volume in hopes to see move value in it.

    • @swirlandsniff2335
      @swirlandsniff2335 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can judge the volume based on the previous candle. For example a 5min candle does 500k in volume and the next candle does 150k after 1 min..this indicates that it could be a volume increase over the previous candle. But I'm sure somewhere there's a indicator for that.

    @Financial Wisdom : It’s a super video, very good, but I'm still a little confused about the variation of the body x the volume bar, in this case do we check the bar and the previous candle?

    Highly appreciated. Half way reading the book itself , finding your summary very clear and useful. I wish the book was as clear as this video. May i ask something generaly? it is easy afterwards to see the trade volume for a time period, lets say a week or day. But how can we decide to enter the trade during the period when the volume is not yet amounted. The later we enter a trade, the higher has the price got. Any suggestion for handling this? would help a lot. Thank you.

      I prefer to see the candle clos and therefore the volume complete before making a decision, regardless if price has moved or not

      @@FinancialWisdom You are right. Doing otherwise is not making sense and it will make the gambling factor higher., thank you .

    I understand the logic behind the correlation between volume and candle size. However the other thing I've found is that there is significant volume on some indecision candles followed by a break of a supply/demand zone then a significant move in that direction. This significant move is not always correlated with an equal proportion in volume. Can a high amount of volume on an indecision candle just mean there is a lot of buyers and sellers fighting for control then once the direction is chosen via break, the decrease in volume on the significant move that follows is just the sellers gave up and only those that were trying to buy at that point are left? So if this was the case then it's not just the possibility of market manipulation? It's just fewer traders but all are in unison in their order flow direction...

    Hey just wondering - what are some examples of the so called "market manipulations" ? Thanks

    How to define the qty of shares to buy based on price and volume keeping in mind to exit the position in single day when position is turned against us...?
    Is there a formula b/n Price, Vol and Qty to buy?

    This may be my favorite because you mentioned Wyckoff. I have only heard one other person mention his name so I am glad you summarised his 3 laws. If you could do a Wyckoff video, I for one, would be eternally grateful. BTW who were the three people you featured when discussing early tickertape analysis. Cheers!
