Hello Max: Frankly, I knew how to say correctly all the three introductory sentences. In spite of this, from my point of view, this deeper dive into English grammar brought us pretty useful information. It can also be seen from the comments to this video. It is beyond my ken how can anybody give a dislike. I have just finished watching this video for the second time. For the first time in the morning and the second time now - at night. When I saw the sentence "Ethel likes to tell jokes", this sentence struck me "Ethel likes telling jokes" Is this one correct? If so, can we use them interchangeably?
Thanks very much, Emil. :) Yes, you can use them interchangeably. For some reason certain grammar books just teach "like + verb-ing", but it's actually very common (and correct) to use "like + infinitive".
