This is a great video lesson. Teaching with physical gestures it's the best way to help Learners to memorize vocabulary as well as improve their English. Thanks Max for this great lesson.
Good put. This is the way a foreign language should be tought before moving on to abstract topics. As for abstract words it would be a hard time to convey a meaning nevertheless it is possible imo. For example: "to cite". I imagine a messanger from medievial times who comes up to your smallholding with an [official] paper wherein there is a list of items for him to announce one by one. In this way we cover the following meanings for the verb "to cite": 1) to refer to smth 2) to quote 3) to iterate 4) to be called to a court 5) to give smth a move PS Another method that I figured out helps a lot in memorizing things is linking words grouping them in sense of some action toward this object like this: impel->compel->propel->repel->dispel or attain -> sustain -> maintain -> retain -> detain
