    While they are similar... The chassis is different, check out the widths of the side steps. Why completely change something already brilliant.

    • @carswithnate
      @carswithnate  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you’re right but in person when you’re sitting in the car you don’t really notice the size difference that much. It feels more like a super face lifted evora. I would have liked more horsepower since the car can handle it

    • @mattyb1624
      @mattyb1624 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @carswithnate yeah they're the same dimensions. I have one, plenty of power for the road, higher RPM gives more. A simple exhaust and intake will add enough power... but thwy had to comply with emissions, hence the 6800rpm, instead of 7200rpm

  • @Docinaplane
    @Docinaplane 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Those openings on the hood are for the exit of hot air not an intake. The best improvements over the Evora are the mirrors are better, the front window has better visibility, and the sound system is better. The cons are the performance is not close to my Evora GT.

    • @Hapkin
      @Hapkin 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dont forget easier to maintain with smarter body panels. Also wider front track so more stable and better front end grip. The Evora GT had less front end grip in high G corners.

    • @Docinaplane
      @Docinaplane 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Hapkin I don't believe that you are correct with any of this. Show me the data.
      I can tell you this. Claim about being easier to maintain due to 'smarter' body panels has no substance to it that I know about. Emira does have a wider front track and same width tires as euro GT430 but US Evora GT has significantly more downforce especially if fitted with carbon rear engine cover (Lotus claimed 64kg for the Sport 410 which was twice what an Evora 400 made, no factory claim for Emira other than it has 'some' downforce) so find that hard to believe that the Emira had any advantage in 'high G corners'. It is interesting to note that Lotus never published a Hethel lap time for the Emira, we have to wonder why. If it was so much quicker than the outgoing Evora then surely Lotus would have wanted to make that known.

    The First Edition Emira comes standard with the lower black pack which includes the carbon flash lower front and side skirts and side vents. The optional upper black pack adds not only the black roof and side mirrors, but also (as opposed to chrome) the black Lotus rear lettering and black exhaust tips.
    As much as I loved my 2020 and moreso my ++ loaded 2023 C8 Stingrays, I prefer my Emira. They’re 2 completely different vehicles with the Emira cornering better, less refined and more “raw”, so more of a true sport car feel. You’re also more connected to the Emira with its manual transmission.
    I had a manual with my 2005 BMW M3 cabriolet that was far smoother. The Emira is more “notchy” so more effort but IMO that adds to its raw sporty feeling.
    This being my first Lotus, I now understand the Lotus description as a more engaging sport car, which isn’t for everyone if you’re into a more luxurious and effortless drive.
    You’re correct that you can’t get this type of car anywhere else for this price. Unfortunately many people don’t know Lotus, so won’t realize that. Thanks for the great review.

    • @carswithnate
      @carswithnate  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only thing the c8 has over the emira is horsepower. If power really matters that much then why not get a tesla plaid that will smoke a c8 in the straights? On throttle house the emira got a faster lap time than the c8, so even being underpowered it ran a faster lap with a manual gearbox than the c8

    • @rolandharris2706

      @@carswithnate C8 is a mid engine car. Handles very well. There is a good youtube comparison out there between both and C8 wins.

      th-cam.com/video/QzGWral8Jn8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OaK-UOSZxC-ZgcQR Emira literally beat c8 stingray in a track test. The fact that the c8 is automatic and has 100 more horsepower means the emira out handles it

    A v6 400Hpower on a track? You'll get smoked by Hellcats, Proche, Teslas and Corvettes. The Emira is best used as a roadster; you'll burn out your engine trying to beat faster cars. I feel all your other points were right except for this one.

    • @carswithnate
      @carswithnate  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Hellcat not beating lotus on a track for sure. I probably did 50+ track days in my Evora GT and was always faster than the sedan/heavy cars. Porsche is def faster if it’s the 911. Tesla maybe the plaid but def not the regular model S and 3. They’re too heavy on the track. Tires are cooked after a few hot laps. Corvette is faster for sure if it’s z06. Base corvette probably a little faster on track due to automatic vs manual.

      @@carswithnateI’ve always been a fan of lotus cars since I was younger. Fortunately now I finally have the possibility of getting a car with a budget preferably below 120k I’m coming from a built Supra 3.0. I’ve been looking into the new lotus emira , m4 comp and a c8 corvette. Thoughts ?

    • @vaughncox1491
      @vaughncox1491 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@stealthy3928 Best to test drive all 3, then decide. Everyone has different driving tastes and expectations for a sport car. For me, the "feel" of the drive is the most important and the Lotus Emira wins out with its superior cornering and manual transmission. But that's just me and you might rate something else as more important to you (ie. raw HP/torque) or find "the feel" better in a different car. I think the Emira wins out in the "looks" department, but again, that's subjective and you may disagree. It certainly gets noticed since there are so few around, but some may not like that extra attention or care about it. Today, I was once again video'd in my Emira, by the passenger in the car behind me. I get that, a "thumbs up" or a "nice car" almost every day. Twice, I've been asked "what's a Lotus?". So far and after almost 4 months of daily driving, mine it the only one I've seen in my City of 1 million+. Your money; your choice...and best to thoroughly investigate each vehicle to make the right choice, before you part with your money.

      I had c8 and now we have emirra and Porsche gts. I would take EMIRA over everything on the market right now. C8 looks like a brick 🧱 everyone drives one, no manual, nothing exiting about this car. Emira is a different level

    • @almostontimehero5415
      @almostontimehero5415 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with the rest, the C8 will tank in value in 10 years once the burnt out ones start hitting the market and I dont like the hyper car look it has going. The Emira is sublime in styling with a Camry V6 thats easy to maintain and source parts for.

    • @moimoi4725
      @moimoi4725 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      C8 is cheaper. Emira is nicer but not as fun as the Lotus Evora GT. Since it heavier and more civilized.
