- Jackson Browne performs "A Child in These Hills” live in the studio with Greg Leisz, Val McCallum, Jeff Young, Bob Glaub, and Mauricio Lewak for the 2021 Dream Concert.
All proceeds from the Dream Concert are added to the Native American Scholarship Fund in an ongoing commitment to bring awareness, tuition assistance, and support for Indigenous students. The Native American Scholarship Fund also supports Indigenous artists, activists, and scholars to share their heritage and experiences at Verde Valley School. I was 14 when Saturate Before Using was released. The first time I had $4.98 I went to the C&D Record Bar in Newport, KY. and bought it. I wore the grooves out of it. His music was a major part of my musical journey through this crazy good life.

JBs voice is as good as it’s ever been. Great to see him and the band revisit some of his classics. One word ‘Legend’! 🎹🎤🎸👏🥰
I don’t buy the “who’s the best” thing but this man for 50 years or something has been one of the very great songwriters and performers of those songs. So many of them like this one completely lift the spirit.

He has mellowed with the years like a fine wine....or bourbon! Listen to his demo of "I've been out walking" when he was 18 and listen to him now singing "These Days". It's like a 16 year old Jackson wrote it for his senior self. The character and wisdom come through. And his voice now.....just wonderful!

First bought Saturate Before Using at 14. I am 66 now. It only took me 52 years to see JB in NOLA a few weeks ago. This song makes me think of my grandchildren and how important it is to leave a better Earth for them. Thank JB for tirelessly working to make her better for them and all the children.

It was my first JB album as well - a gift from a friend. The name of the album is "Jackson Browne". "Saturate Before Using" is a handling instruction :)
@ Premium Kibble I am well aware of the title, and the story behind it, I have been a lifelong fan, and purchased it as a young hippie when it came out. Not only did it feature some of his greatest hits like " Doctor my Eyes ", and "Jamaica say you will ", but my favourite version of Brewer & Shipley's " Rock Me on the Water ". I had lost a friend in an accident that year and a "Song for Adam" which was his name, seemed surreal at the time.
@@dannytorrance9555 That's a big 10-4. I got it for my 20th birthday and wore it out before I turned 21. I was a big Lowell George fan so I gravitated to Love Needs a Heart. It's still my favorite track on that album, followed closely by Looking Into You. My then future wife and I saw Jackson live the following year and his songs and performances have marked the stations of our lives ever since. ACL airing on November 13th!

Jackson Browne and I grew up in the same town. Although he went to a different high school we all knew of him. We would try to sneak into the clubs in LA when he was playing. We'd shout out our high schools during breaks. Gave him a laugh and a smile.

Thank you for your authenticity, Mr. Browne. I’ve listened to you since I was 14-I’m now 59-and I’ve been grateful all along the way. I left the evangelical church at 16, and after a career as a prof in the US I’m now a prof with my family here in Japan. You were part of the inspiration for me to follow my path.

Man today's a good day, this song came up after I saw President Biden talking ....he talked so natural kinda like my Dad talks who's not with us anymore, I thought of him because he was like a mountain man loved this Green Earth and~ we can all relate to being outside and running round the hillside until dark in the Summers .....that's something deep in our hearts our connection to this Earth we are all connected! man he rocked today his words reminded me of a great Jackson Browne song another man who cares I'm not gonna lie

I am so very excited that Jackson Browne is coming to Victoria, BC! I have always wanted to hear him in concert. I was looking all over for somewhere close enough and then lucked out when he is now coming to my home city with James Taylor.
Enjoy both of them, Wendy! I saw James in Manchester when he did the One Man Band tour, it was brilliant. I have seen Jackson in Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh where I was lucky enough to meet him at the stage door and he autographed my Late for the Sky lyric sheet I had kept for 30 plus years. He is shy, better looking than on TV and a true thoughtful gentleman. 😊

Mr Browne, you are my all time favorite artist. I graduated high school a year after the release of Running on empty. I had it twice on lp, two cassettes and 2 CD. That song Shaky Town. What you said about blackers side was the nail on the head.I would love to hear your perspective on that today. Because to me, it seems to be even worse in a quiet deceitful way.
