- Welcome to my MCC Legendary Speedrun Guides! Today we're glitching out of Delta Halo from Halo 2 Anniversary (Master Chief Collection).
My goal with this series is to help everyone complete every Halo game on Legendary difficulty using the latest speedrunning tips and tricks. If you have any questions or I forgot to explain something in the video, please ask in the comments and I'll do my best to answer!

Jerome 092 I just finished my Solo Legendary run the other night, I didn’t know any of the skips, now I’m going for Monopolized and I love seeing these levels I used to struggle with be broken in half
Serios question, did you got par times? Os just legendary? Cause for me ive passed halo on legendary but it takes me hours for each level.

1:18 never ever get that checkpoint and i kill the jackal everytime. The checkpoints and overall randomness in halo 2 is insane.

I know it's a bit late, but I found that if I didn't kill the turret and small group of grunts at the very beginning, I wouldn't get specifically this checkpoint for some reason.

pretty much. every time i do it and get to the last part the prophets chair is empty and there are no elites so i cant finish the level

@@MVCentral Old but that would happen to me when I wouldn’t go low enough down the Jackal mountain and the chapter text wouldn’t show up on the bottom right of the screen
I found that if you use plasma grenades for the Ghost Jump it's a little easier since you have about an extra second to get into the ghost and drive to the right spot as frags go off almost immediately and it's a lot harder to have it explode in the right spot.
I just walked all the way around lmao

quick tip: No it's not, unless you know the time for the plasma granade to explode, just do what Nak3d says: when you line up the ghost for the jump, stay on the side of the ghost enough for the "Hold LB/B to drive the ghost" prompt appear, after that throw the Frag granade on the right spot and Imediately after throwing hold the button to drive the ghost, but DONT EVEN release LT after throwing the granade, that way you will instantly speed up and will never miss the jump.
Not really, way easier to time it with a frag.
If the Elite Honour Guard doesn't spawn at the end, you didn't activate the sniper valley properly. You need to dip quite far down until your hud goes away to reveal the title card. That means the area loaded properly :)
Took me longer than of like to admit to figure that out!

sometimes that still won't spawn the honor guards at the end unfortunately, got the title card and everything lol, had to go back a little to the walkway to get cortana's dialouge

Yes! By doing this method, I successfully completed this mission on legendary in 38:58 with a score of -14464!
Sputnik and Feather skulls make the ghost jump easy.
I couldn't get past "the most dangerous part" of the mission, and after 30 or so tries of getting blown up decided to try something. At 02:11 you can hop out without having anyone follow you. Pick off the grunts in the turrets (and a few jackals if you want) and then use your rockets on the ghosts. Only takes a minute or so and makes the section easy and much more foolproof.
But you have to be fast. Over a dozen ghosts will continue to spawn on Legendary; there will only be about 4 at a time. Once you kill the ghosts, you have to go.
Thanks again for the video and ideas. I'm just practicing on Normal for now to get it down for Legendary. This video was the most confusing I've seen so far, but I figured it out and learned a lot. I didn't know that you could switch between classic and remastered graphics with the press of a button and didn't realize how important it was to do the checkpoints and loading areas.
Just completed it in 14 minutes, thanks for the guide Eli. A little tip with the Ghist launch is to hold the jump button as you boost, it will give you the extra height

It took me about 6 restarts, but I finally did it with a time of 8:59. That jackal spawning part was brutal.

I never got a checkpoint at the spot you said a checkpoint happens for killing the first jackel sniper. The only checkpoint I get is where you crouch.
Same, all enemies never spawn and when I get to the end the mission it doesn't end and Cortana still orders me to take out the turrets lmao

For someone who doesn’t care for the speed run and just want it done, I found out you don’t have to do the ghost jump if it’s too difficult for you, just keep walking up the mountain allll the way to the part we the deployable shields are before the forest, safely drop down and there will be no enemies but it’s fine for now. I backtracked all the way back to where that second ghost he grabbed was and hit the loading/check point then after I just did what he did and it worked fine.
I struggled for two hours not realizing i didn't render the jackal sniper forest correctly.
LOL! Finally able to skip that sniper forest, did the glitch, continued with my ghost. Got sniped. #rekt
I tried doing the glitch at the beginning but somehow I managed to de-spawn every enemy in the level.

You didn't hit the loading zone in the very beginning. There's a checkpoint.
Just got a 6:01 run thanks to this and the right hand ghost launch method. Took me a while to nail it though.
Eli there is a quicker way at the start go up the hill where u just went and go over to building where u trigger the bridge, from there take a ghost and go back to the beginning where u can go outside the map. From there is a route that's pretty much straight forward and u will end up at the end. Now all you have to do is take out the elite guards and you're done. Although I have not done any speed runs with this method I have completed the mission doing this. I am going to try and beat your record tomorrow!
That first part, when you are out of the map for the first time if you don’t care about speed running you can explore that area for a while it is massive
I hate to say it, but so far (having done all the H1 levels successfully, as well as the first 5 H2 levels largely using your videos), this is proving to be the least usable video of the bunch. I'm sure it's a great method for world records but me (and, I'm sure, many others using these videos) are just trying to get the achievement.
I found the ghost launch over the chasm to be entirely not worth the effort, since it saves nowhere near enough time to justify its difficulty. Whatever, I just did that part the "normal' way.
I'm completely stuck on the ghost section afterwards though. First off, I'm not sure how far I have to go to trigger the load zone before I turn around, secondly, there's not a single checkpoint in that ENTIRE section, meaning I can not use save/quit/reload to better my time during that, meaning I have to successfully A: not get my ass blown off while cruising through turrets, ghosts, tight turns, jackals and grunts (and then back again), B: not fall off during any of the out of map ghost stuff afterwards and C: not get sniped during that entire ghost section all in one go.
I understand that's how the pros do it and all, but this level in particular is giving me serious doubts that any of those tricks are worth the effort if you're just trying to get a sub 3 hour cumulative.
Hell, I didn't mind so much when I was doing the H1 AotCR bridge drop or the Keyes glitch, they both took me a stupid 200+ attempts to do but had such an amazing pay-off for it. These tricks I'm finding to be equally difficult, but not worth the effort.
fristi61 for the section where you are wondering how far to go before turning back. just check if the jackals spawn. soon as you do you are golden
I got a checkpoint right before the turret zone and I just ignored what he said about the ghosts and I went straight up the hill

@@am1xedguy178 when you are by passing the sniper forest if none spawn you will have to restart because the next load screen won't load. They have to spawn. P.s. Im going off of memory from 2 years ago
Completely agree. I’ve been using these videos for speed runs and it’s been great so far. The ghost jump just doesn’t seem worth it though.
Going to attempt it with plasma grenades like another comment suggested, but if that doesn’t work I’ll just do the first part the normal way.
Struggled a lot with the Ghost jump. Putting on the Sputnik Skull helped a lot, as your grenades launch you with the might of a trebuchet with that enabled.
The hardest part of this one is RNG based. It's all luck whether or not you get destroyed by those other ghosts.

Eli I pulled off the ghost launch within 10 tries! For Regret can you do a speed run showing the fast way to finish it WITHOUT doing that plasma grenade jump after killing those 5 jackal snipers?After over and hour of trying, I just couldn't pull it off.
I'm not interested in speed running at all, but you make these videos super fun to watch!
This Mission took us about 90 minutes on Legendary and you just say YOLO and walk through everything just makes the mission a pain in the ass. Pretty sweet run :D
But seriously who find these glitches and the loading zones which need to be touched?
And is there a speedrun category without using any glitches or shortcuts, that would be awesome too.

I ended up having to restart because of the section at 2:25. I actually got an insanely good checkpoint where all of the ghosts just took another route and disappeared.
Thank you so much for this. For some reason although I had it completed, Delta Halo wasn't showing on my profile, thus causing all of my game completion achievements not to unlock when I finished H2. Followed this and fixed that in about five minutes, God I hate that Jackel forest.

For those of you having trouble with the ghost launch if you don’t jump down off the cliff you can walk all the way around to the other side and drop down on the other side of the bridge

awesome I knew how to get out of the map back in 2007 but I didn't know you could hit load points to beat the mission that way.

This was the only problem with halo 4 :( (just a major problem) i hope halo 5 will have these big "open" levels, and there are was to go outside of the map and explore/skip certain parts. Almost in every halo 2 level you can skip or go outside ^^ That's what i want in halo 5. Also to see Arby become a bro

Thanks these guides should help me breeze through the levels pretty quickly:).
Instead of relying on rng to hit the load zone before going up the mountain by all the covenant you can instead grenade launch across with the ghost head towards the second ghost until you hit the checkpoint, then go back to the left where you launched across scale that mountain until you get to the plateau, from there follow the path until you see a black square in the ground from there go back into the map adjacent from the square. If you go down slow enough with the ghost you won't die from fall damage. That will drop you into that are with all the covenant and ghosts. They will all be despawned and you can activate the checkpoint in the building then proceed to go up the mountain and finish the map with the remaining steps. Way more consistent method
When i reach the very end none of the elites spawn and i cant finish the mission going up to regret

You have to go deeper in the part where Eli took a roundabout (area before nosing the ghost in the mountain), this should trigger Cortana saying "careful now, there's another structure coming", then after the ghost jump across the triangular thingy then go back just enough that the waterfall sound appears, hold the ghost in the position, and it should trigger the load zone, then drive to the elite room, kill all of them and end the mission

I’m having an issue doing this. At the end of the level no elites spawn and the prophets head is missing.
You have to fully load the Jackal sniper ally. That's why he drops the ghost so low down the wall.
Pretty easy level. The ghost jump took several attempts, I was doing a slightly different setup. The hardest part of the level was the ghost driving section, that was brutal. I found that if you focus on driving the ghost fast and good, then it makes it easier. It takes some practice to learn how to drive a ghost fast and take corners as optimal as possible.
this is tricky to pull off I just think I'll grind the hours to beat it

These tricks still work, but it only took me an hour and 7 minutes. That was with grabbing the Envy skull. I wish I had realized that I could have just dropped down from on top of the level near the sniper forest to get the skull instead of killing wave after wave of ghosts.
Every time I try this I get to the end and there's no enemy's and regrets chair is just floating there and the mission won't end. Why?
Didn't hit the checkpoint/load zones
You have to make sure you go to the bottom floor to get everything to spawn in, in the ghost before he goes out of bounds with it just before the jackal sniper part. After that once ur out of bounds and make the jump you need to hug the wall of the jackal sniper area facing the column and keep half boosting and gradually go down a bit at a time until you get the text for the sniper area pop up on the bottom right, you know everything is loaded when you reach the pod drops just before that room and Cortana’s dialogue kicks in

At 2:24, did anyone else first have to navigate up the slope to the right of the courtyard to get a checkpoint, proceed back down to get the double-ramp checkpoint, and then go right back up the hill again to complete the speedrun?
For anyone who's having trouble landing the ghost jump, there's a much easier strat you can do instead without wasting too much time. Just do everything the same as in the video up until the point where you have to do the jump. Instead head to the back of the building and you can actually hit the button to retract/extend the bridge through the other side of the wall. So all you need to do is to hit the button twice from the other side to fully extend the bridge. It's way easier and has no risk since there are no enemies behind the building
But the ghost jump de-spawns the wraiths.
So if im having regret show up after I get out the map the 2nd after after going through the ruins and back out, I get the the jackal sniper forest part and I boost down and am kinda just staying on that half wall but no loading comes up and regret or the honor guard elites are there at the end. what am I doing wrong?

Doesn't seem to be working anymore. Did this to the T (Ghost jump took the longest to get down).
Final encounter doesn't load anymore.
Thought it had to do with the Jackal Forest, so I jumped down and...Jackal Forest also empty.
Last enemies noted in the ruins (before climbing mountain in ghost).

Ok 30mintes took me, after 9 minutes of trying to do the gernade ghost bridge jump, i just settled with just killing the enemies and expanding the bridge to get across, then i did that stuff you did afterwards, i was stuck for about 13minutes on getting the jackel sniper forest to load, cuz every time i entered the final building the honor guards werent there, edit: now 12 minutes
did this a couple months ago & it worked, but now i can't get the jackal forest to load on the wall.
after a couple tries trying to get the just jackal checkpoint I realized it wasn't working... then I tried going down there to see if it would work. Yeah there was no jackals or elites at the end so I hate this mission.
Literally did everything in the video step by step, and when I jump to the spot to get the Jackal forest part triggered, and go down the wall, it doesn't trigger it. I've tried literally every spot to go down the wall on. I got all the way to the end and no Honor Guards are there.

Seth Skinner Random numbers generator. Speed runners make it look easy cause you only see the successful runs usually. A lot of speed runners need years to perfect their run
Checkpoints and loading are very random in halo 2 unfortunately
I did what you said to do and it glitched to where no enemies would spawn
so my game glitched. when i got to the part where u get the ghost, no ghosts, turrets, vehicles, or any enemy spawned for the rest of the mission. The only thing was that there were only weapons that were spawning. Could it have because i completely skipped the first checkpoint?
Does this still work? I got all the way up to the point of triggering the Sniper Valley section with a ghost, but it doesn’t trigger. Was this glitch updated?

I give up on these speed runs i do exaclty the same thing but for some reason 10 more enemies spawn and i Get 4 ghosts instead of two, and then after i hit all the loading points the final two elites don’t spawn and i can’t complete the mission. At this point i think it’s easier to beat it normally. Also I do every single sre perfectly, and the last enemies do not spawn, i hit the loading and everything but the room is empty.

You gotta hit the checkpoint/cortana's voice cue at 2:23 to make sure the next set of enemies spawn
2:23 spawns the next section of the map. 3:22 spawns the elites and Regret at the end.
Having issues with getting the last 2 loading zones. One gave me a checkpoint so I thought that mightve been the load but the forest skip hasnt given me a load zone. Anyone got any tips for that?
He loads the Jackal sniper forest around 3:22 by sliding backwards down the wall and then boosting out. You can get sniped while doing this.

My extra advice is to practice feathering the boost to slowly go down to the right point so you don't "slip" as I did many times, before doing a proper run

at 2:23 are you supposed to get a Checkpoint and a group of grunts spawn? Or am I supposed to completely go down the ramp?
it's literally impossible getting out of the situaton at 2:23. so fucking hard been on that checkpoint for like 2 hours now.

I just sat at the tunnel an shot them with my rocket launcher until I ran out then I hijacked a ghost and boom. 5 minutes

I’m having a bit of trouble hitting the checkpoint at the top of the mountain area, I’ve killed the jackal sniper several times and I’ve gotten both checkpoints before it, and I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong
You don't have to go down the ramps where you got mobbed by 4 ghost, I spent ages doing it and did it a few times but died, then I decided to try without and it worked fine.

When u did the ghost launch why didn't u just launch through the waterfall on the right hand side that's what I do all try time on the original halo 2 and if u hit the correct spot u would hit a checkpoint and avoid the grunts setting up turrets and the ghosts
the text at the jackal sniper forest doesn't show up for me
I got a checkpoint in the temple but didn't get the pop-up on the bottom right.
Whenever I get to the part with the jackal forest it doesn't load. When I go to the honor guards they're not there and I can't end the mission. Why is this?

Took me 30 min to do but way bettee than 3 hours lol. Grenade jump works, the jackal junp part messed me up but its doable
