I watched both and lime this little quad :) Few years back, I've torn motor wire simply by looking at them... then by changing them to a new frame. Now things are better and I agree whole heartedly with the pcb approach!!
Great video Nick. I found with the version 1 that if I used a bit of tape between the frame and the ufl connector and then made sure none of the antenna wire was near the RX (use zip ties) then I have not had any problems with video since.
Nick, I switched all my 40mm prop whoops (aka 75s) to XT30 connectors. Ever since KabobFPV said XT30 for the tinyhawk 2 and babytooth, I've been using XT30. The extra 2 grams are worth it. However switching over all the 1s batteries from ph to xt30 is annoying. I wish more battries were xt30 from the factory.
Awesome flying and review, Nick!!! 😃 Yeah, now it makes more sense! This way it's going to be great for who likes to fly longer and for the freestyle pilots! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That pcb motor idea is genius, as long as its not "load bearing." I would like that on larger motors like 130x 140x because inevitably motor wires are too short to swap to another quad, racewire is too big for the arms and its like 48aug wire making it hard to splice and extend.
The Newbeedrone whoop motors have pcb motor connectors also. However they are done mostly because they ship with a smaller motor connector than standard, and so you have to switch out the motor wires before using on a non-NBD whoop.
Of course we're going to stay and watch, it's still new content I'm my book, ha thinking of that why can't a quad have more than one video? I think you should do it more often to maybe highlight different aspects of the particular product or quad, but just use it sparingly and do it on the subjects (or quads) that really interest you!
I use Skyzone 04x's with two of their modules in it. Since I added the second module, I haven't seen any rolling image issues, but I did with certain whoops oriented certain ways in my back yard.
@@NickBurnsFPV Yes...using two of the Skyzone modules causes them to work together...it's kinda cool...you hear the beep from the side that's giving you the best signal.
I think it has the caddx ant lite camera, I can see the blackouts on the left side of the flight footage… i noticed the same problem with my camera but it’s only on the top left corner. The older version of this camera was really amazing but now it’s below average image quality.
I came here to catch up on a quad Flywoo sent me and I finally ordered an eLRS module for my X7 and see if I can do anything with it and got a bonus PMB hat wearing Nick Burns!!
Love the content and review! I have the gnb27 deadcat nano and Ive use the ph2.0 and gnb27s and found that the gnb was a noticeable punch. I was having to compensate on the throttle. I cant wait till my tru x quad comes in
Yeah I get a weird black and white rolling effect on my HDO2s with Rapid fire sometimes when I shred my tiny whoop nano round the house it's a pain in the sack cause it makes me crash though changing to rapid mix 2 clears it up I just never remember in time
Good info thank you, I did purchase the ELRS version too, can't find the bind button though, am I missing something? Can't find on the product website either : /
So it is a freestyle nice! Maybe the next one a bit bigger motors and a better cam. I have also the 04x v2 with one skyzone rapidmix and one eachine reciever never updated it and never had a rolling screen.
What is your configuration with the RapidFire and Steadyview module working together? I have 2 Steadyview modules and one RapidFire module. The one RapidFire module seems to work better than 2 Steadyview modules.. Goggles and all modules are up to date with firmware.
@@CXBFPV I don't have a rapid fire module. Only one skyzone en one eachine rapidmix. You have to ask that Nick burns himself. And it is like is said in the post above.
@@airdevil21 sorry I miss read. I have a Steadyview and Rapidmix that I am struggling to get working correctly. Tried all of the firmwares. Just got a RapidFire and seems to perform well.
have you tried putting the bi blades on the FR version? contemplating on a whoop for indoors because we got rain season here apparently. Maybe the mobula6 or this one but with the bi blades for starting out a bit slower.
The only thing wrong with the JST was it's size, I still use them on my plane and used them on my first quads as I had a bunch of 450mAh with the JST connectors. The PH2.0 was remarkably worse... I think we should have stuck with the JST!
I noticed you talked about reception and it seems better with the little antenna tip outside of the tpu. That is correct in theory so I assume it at least helped. You also talked about the DVR being from a rapidfire, have you ever used the TBS Fusion? That's what I use and I feel like I had better reception on my old EV800D's. Do you have an opinion on the performance difference between RF and TBS?
I have the fusion but have used it sparingly. Mainly because I am so familiar with it. I did a short day of testing fusion, rapidfire, akk and skyzone receivers. I planned to do more with different quads/cams to see where I landed. I haven't gotten back to it.
I have the normal one and I've break a few motor shafts... I see more and more tiny drones are comming without prop guards, is this motor shaft braking a normal thing or is it just me?
It depends. If we crash into concrete or similar yes it can and sometimes will break or bend the motor shafts. The best we can do is to make sure the props are all the way down to the motor bell.
Hi Great videos, I purchased this quad after watching your video unfortunately after trying for days I cannot get this thing to arm everything else works it just won't arm no matter what i do, looks like I got me a Lemon unfortunately.
$120 give or take, add in shipping and waiting for the product to arrive from China. I just cannot pull the trigger. It's freezing ice and snow here and I am looking for a new whoop or tiny drone for inside, but these prices are steep these days. Mob 6 and TinyHawk are great, but I am bored with them. Looks like I will continue to be bored with them.
the best way to get help is to do our best to detail the information. In this case, we can't tell if your talking about flashing the receiver or the flight controller, or even the esc, all have firmware that can be flashed. My question after that is, why are you wanting to or needing to flash.
Still waiting to hear back again from Flywoo, but I did love my Firefly Baby Nano (while it was still flying). I had even bought a spare frame (comes with TPU parts also) and 2 motors (16.5k kv), but in the end, the AIO was the point of failure, due to having to re-attach the battery connector multiple times. I just couldn’t see spending the $65 to replace the AIO when it was a failure, not crashing that caused it to not work anymore. Hopefully it will get resolved by the folks at Flywoo before much longer… every time I see anything about this quad, I miss getting to rip it around my house. I also fly around my back-yard all the time< and the school behind my house. I do think Flywoo makes some of the best-looking quads out there. I have the Firefly Baby quad (1.6” quad-blade prope on MUCH bigger motors, with prop guards and a 16mm flight stack) and it looks great, but is so noisy. Still debating picking up a Cinerace 20 - Flywoo getting my Baby Nano board issue resolved pull certainly help motivate me to pull that trigger. Anyhow, thanks again Nick. Always appreciate YOUR time. Love your style and cadence. By far my favorite reviewer (I’m definitely a micro-lover, too - for sure! [though I do fly 5” as well]) - keep up the great work.
@@ErraziBProductionS What do you mean it failed due to having to re-attach the battery connector? Do you mean that leads that were soldered to the FC kept coming off and you had to re-solder them back on to the FC? Just wondering if would be beneficial to try to add some strain relief to the battery leads.
@@jgallone Yes, exactly. And the worst of it is that it wasn't even due to crashing and the battery pulling on the lead. Just simply connecting and disconnecting the battery in normal use. Apparently, I got a lead that was just brittle or something. Then due to me re-soldering it a dozen or more times, a couple of the tiny capacitors (or whatever the tiny components are) right next to the + and - pads became de-soldered and the board would no longer power up. Sadly, customer support pointed the blame at me for "bad welding" - while I may not be the best at soldering, I am adequate in my opinion, and that is beside the point... if I wouldn't have HAD to re-solder the lead to the FC, it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

I believe it’s the same
