I'm 67, and since age 2 until now, my family and friends still call me Babe. Mr Hefron, you make me proud to have that name along with Babe Ruth......
These men are the reason we live in the world we do today (though it is slowly being eroded) I’m from Canada, my grandpa Russ was a cockpit gunner, my grandpa said his toughest job, wasn’t the promotion he received. Which my grandpa did, he said the hardest job was assigning his insubordinates (forgive me if I said this wrong, please. It still hurts me. I’m sorry) grandpa bill was an infantry soldier who didn’t storm, but saw a lot of his friends got lit up. And that is why I put in my papers a week ago and assigned to the CAF.
Royal airforce
Rest in Peace hero's! I wish I could've spoken you once in real life...
Every soldier of Easy Company were very humble, always pointing out every company of all of the allied forces were just as courageous as us, we were nothing special
Eternally grateful to the US soldiers. Much love, from Holland.
Brought here from The Sopranos episode "Two Tonys" season 5 episode 2, Tony Sopranos is watching Ed "Babe" Heffron on TV .. Respect.
THANK YOU TO THE TROOPS

Brilliant
Good to see these guys get their 15 min. of fame and glory. They certainly deserve more...
Family gossip aside I still don’t know where my dad dropped on D Day, but his late in life stories from Operation Market Garden were bloody and unreal. Laying under a large log 50 yards from a German encampment for two days before being able to slip away at night was something that he still had nightmares about.... perhaps the Germans using his log to piss on had something to do with it. He was leading his troops across a field and as they came out on a road they were seen by a young boy who came to a sudden stop, turned around and started running back into the village screaming “American ... American...”
“What could I do?” is where the story ended, If he had a drink before he always had tears in his eyes. And it was best if you weren’t still there when he looked up.
Rest easy Babe & Bill
RIP Sir
