Power ballad...BTW Jon and Richie wrote these songs together, an amazing songwriting and performing team. The sound at the beginning and end was Richie, The drummer is Tico Torres.
Richie Sambora is the back up vocalist and lead guitartist of Bon Jovi. He's an amazing vocalist. I highly suggest you listen to Dead Or Alive. His vocals and guitar on that are top notch. Also he has some great solo songs of his own. Stranger In This Town is a great blues rock song by Richie. Also the songs One Light Burning and Father Time
There are acoustic versions of Dead or Alive, as well as Livin’ on a Prayer, with just Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. Both share the spotlight equally, no relegating one to the shadow like in this video.
Ritchie Samboro was with Bon Jovi for many many years after the band was formed in 1983. Excellent guitar player. He suddenly left in 2013. The rest of the band has been together since the beginning. John is still married to his high school sweetheart and still lives in his native New Jersey.
When you see them in concert, I believe their songs hold up better in a live show. They have such powerful hooks to them that everyone can sing along with. Lay Your Hands On Me can go on for 20 minutes

Richie Sambora is the guitarist and some argue, me included, that he's just as good a singer as Jon. So much soul. Richie actually took the lead vocals for this song at a lot of the live shows. There are dozens of videos of him performing it.
Tico Torres is such an underrated drummer. Dude just knows how to drop the right fill every time. His accents are always on point. Just a great band all around!

Almost 7 months since your last Bon Jovi reaction. Gotta get into more of their hits. I've never seen Bon Jovi live but, we were always outside his concerts in the 80's. After the concert thousands of women our age with big hair and mini skirts came filing out happy. As a metal head I always liked these guys though.

I know, I'm old....The first time I saw BJ was when "Slippery When Wet" had just come out and they were the opening act for the band ".38 Special". Great concert!!! Blew the roof off the stadium!!!
Bon Jovi has some great power ballads. Try Never Say Goodbye, Always, Bed of Rosed, and Livin in Sin. All of them just as great or maybe better than( Alwsys and Never Say Goodbye)I'll Be There for You.
As others have mentioned the person you're asking about is Richie Sambora and they've had a great partnership for many years as singers and songwriters too!
Richie Sambora, you have to check out him singing this song lead at MSG in 2008. BLOWS the original version out of the water. Richie was the heart and soul of the band, him and Jon were in every way the Lennon and McCartney of the 80s, wrote hit after hit after hit and as soon as you hear their voices together it is just this unmistakable and decade defining sonic and harmonic beauty.

my favourite Bon Jovi song would be "Santa Fe", one of many song wtitten for original motion picture soundtrack of a movie "Young Guns".
....it's a movie about a notorious criminals in wild west era, whose coloquially called for "having two right hands" for his shooting abilities.
it definitely gives out certain vibe and feelings that successfully portray the emotions from the movie...
I personally suggest you guys to reacted to this particular song.
"Never Say Goodbye" is another great song from Bon Jovi.
John Bon Jovi is a beautiful man.
Richie is an amazing, soulful singer and guitarist. The combination of him and Jon is magic. I love Bon Jovi!!!
The second voice is the lead guitarist Richie Sambora
I know, I'm old....The first time I saw BJ was when "Slippery When Wet" had just come out and they were the opening act for the band ".38 Special". Great concert!!! Blew the roof off the stadium!!!
How about the first video I saw from them was "Runaway". Now I KNOW I am old.....😃
That awesome I remember when it came out also I was in 10th grade
Classic Bon Jovi❤️❤️❤️❤️
When love songs made sense ♥️♥️♥️
This is my favorite Bon Jovi song ever. And live at a concert? Epic. Jon and Richie's voices just melt together perfectly.
Bon Jovi has some great power ballads. Try Never Say Goodbye, Always, Bed of Rosed, and Livin in Sin. All of them just as great or maybe better than( Alwsys and Never Say Goodbye)I'll Be There for You.
Silent night is the best, but few people know it
As others have mentioned the person you're asking about is Richie Sambora and they've had a great partnership for many years as singers and songwriters too!
Definitely the prototypical 80's "power ballad"! Bon Jovi has great vocals and musical sense, love 'em.
My Fav ❤❤❤❤
Born To Be My Baby- Bon Jovi is another make you feel good banger from the 80s! I know both of you would enjoy that one.
