Would you recommend the DSG or manual with the petrol 1.4 please?
Just got my ŠKODA superb se l exec. Had it a week. Done the mercs etc. I love this car. Got the 2.0 190 dsg . Best car I’ve had on balance of enormous space, driving and simply relaxing driving. Perfect for my young kids. Yeah it’s got bigger wheels etc and sport makes a nice difference when in you’re own with no kids. Normal driving is pretty limo like. Main thing is that my kids love being in this car. One of my boys suffers from car sickness but not in this. Even the merc made him feel yuk (cue my driving style criticism) but this car really allows for serene relaxing chauffeur style driving. Love it. Took me 1 year to decide on the merc bmw or audi or passat
Estate and I fell in love with this.
I have been driving the 190bhp L&K sedan for close to 2 years now (I was one of the first to have the new model) and it has been nothing but exceptional. Stunning black colour and the ride is excellent even on the great looking 19 inch low profile tyres and alloy wheels, internal luxury and the 190bhp even makes it fun to drive - definitely not sluggish. Best car I've ever had.
What is MPG like? I'm tempted by the 2L 220BHP DSG model as my commute is rather frustrating. This will be the newest car I have owned and wanted to know what fuel economy is like with mixed driving
Found your review very good, and it gave me lots of information on the Skoda Superb. Since watching the review i have been down to my local dealer, and had a test drive. Now just waiting for delivery of my SE L diesel hatchback😊
I am on my 5th Skoda Superb and my latest one is a 4x4 Laurin & Klemment 2.0 ltr 190 bhp estate, basically top of the range and is simply "Superb". Granted it's taken time to get to this latest car, but I have to say all my Superb's have been great cars. I always ask the question, "Why pay more for a car with less quality than the Skoda?" They are simply unbeatable in their range.

I have a skoda superb sedan 2017yom.4x4 I am so pleased that we saw this car when we were thinking of an upgrade from honda accord..it is spacious front and back. my grand daughter says she can comfortably sleep in the boot.The driving comfort the power , the features simply SUPERB.My son has an AUDI S3 and he says he paid 20 grand more for four circles.
@Ravi How what would you say about road noise at motorway speeds of 75-85mph on UK coarse motorways?
Already have this car in diesel form agree totally with review excellent quality great drive engine is all you need in this car absolute joy to drive

Driver's Seat did you use/have you considered using a drone to capture footage? In the lighting conditions you had it would look fantastic
fenderman21guitar we have on a few occasions and would like to more. Have you seen the Ford Kuga video or Audi Q2? Both have drone footage. Kuga one is in the Derbyshire dales and looks great, even if we say so ourselves, although, that's more down to the landscape rather than anything we did.
Love my Skoda Superb. I have the Laurin & Klement model with ivory leather dsg gear box. It is lush!!!

Second superb here (after several octavia vrs and a cupra Leon). 2.0TSI 220 sportline hatch. Replace the dampers with konis and a revo stage 1 remap and you've got a serious sleeper. No one will notice you coming, and won't bother trying to race you or cut you up.
I have an L&K arriving in a few weeks. Can't wait.

it's a replacement for our Octavia Elegance. We have added a couple of extras such as the adaptive light control. We're getting it with the DSG as well which will be quite a nice change from the manual box.

I have an 2014 Octavia elegance tdi. Great car but I can see where they have cut costs - intrusive road noise / vibration. Kodiaq review also mentions road noise. I certainly hope your Superb won't fall short of its name in that area.
We were looking at the Kodiaq but by the time you add some toys you are looking at over 30k. We go camping so we do like a big boot. Hence the Octavia and now the Superb.

Super review. I've just picked up a 3-year-old estate Greenline version and I'm chuffed with it. So many bells and whistles. Park Pilot is something I haven't used yet but I guess it will accurately park the thing if I accelerate, brake and change gear for it. A couple of my friends' cars have that feature and are just plain scared to use it. :)
Good call on comfort mode on certain roads. That belongs on motorway, it can bang You about a bit if you don’t slip into eco. Sport for twists but ultimately it’s pure comfort and looks superb! In the flesh

I've just ordered this exact model with the upgraded stereo and keyless entry. Alas not coming till October. Compared to the £43k 3 series touring I test drove, it's on a par and £16k less. And it's not far off the £75k 740 either even though they're meant to be worlds apart. It's a very impressive car
I like the estate even more :)
New car 🤔... lots of choices but after driving the estate just can’t get past this car. Thinking of the hatch next time and despite Leon ST tapping the heart strings nothing touches the luxury of the superb and the pleasure it gives your passengers with all that space, it’s such a hidden secret this car. Love the fact the average Jo still sticks there nose up at Skoda. It helps keeping the price down.

Seems like an interesting option in a very competitive market. If this had a different badge on it I am sure sales would rise sharply as a lot of people still suffer from badge snobbery.
Badge snobs deserve what they get. They get less car for more money. In June last year I bought a new SE Estate TDI Manual. Based on how my first 10 months and 15000 miles has gone, I can't see myself ever buying any thing else.

But at a good price, and with a few extras added for the press. Still less than 4000 miles, and 9 months old. Hopefully the testers haven't given it tooooooo much of a thrashing.

Picked it up on Mon from Reading. Salesman says he didn't realise it was a press car.
Drives so much better than my 2010 Superb 170 diesel. Unlike you, I can't really tell the difference in the suspension settings, and on the 80 mile drive home (almost all motorway), I recorded 50.3mpg, according to the trip computer.
That's a pretty decent return. Really hope you like it. Whenever I see one I still have to have a look. Keep in touch with how you get on with it.
I choose a 2016 superb l&k over an Audi a4. I miss the Audi vibe tbh but this car knows everything. 190hp, automatic, heated ventilated seats, 5 door, DCC, spare wheel, heated windshield and mirrors, sunroof, canton audio, parking sensors and camera. Unbelivable what this car can do.

That said I'm on my second Superb. Bought my first intending to keep it for three years. Six years later I said a reluctant 'good-bye' and climbed into a Superb Sportline. The main difference over that time is in technological advances and styling. Love the driver modes. Sport is very good. When it came time to change I didn't even look at another make. Before Skoda I was wasting my money on BMWs and Mercs. I think the Superb is a better car in many respects beyond value for money.

Top notch review. I appear to have convinced my dad to get the 1.5tsi estate with dsg through Motability. My fiancee and I are set on the 2015 look Fabia.
I see Skodas everywhere, on every journey. I think the badge snobs are dying off. Even Dacia, another solid brand, is getting popular nowadays.
As good a review as I have seen. I have been debating whether to go for a top of the range Octavia or a midrange Superb. My mind is now made up.
