I am always amazed that such a diverse musical history has come from the USA. This real country music is some of the best. I guess it is because of the diversity of peoples in your lovely nation. You can hear influences from the Irish, Scottish, English immigrants as well as the Spanish, French and Nth African people that made up your population. And I believe that the magic ingredient that links all this wonderful music together is that Americans early on, were like many nations of the time, slave traders. We humans came out of Africa many thousands of years ago and we settled far and wide - we settled in hot and cold climate - we have been almost too successful. I remember my late father yelling at me to come into the living room sometime in the mid 90s. He said "Robert" get in here, the greatest is about to sing the greatest country song ever. I was around 15 and at that age where I didn't like ANYTHING my Dad liked. But ill never forget George Jones on TV that night singing "He Stopped Loving Her Today" Man my Dad would have LOVED youtube!!
