I once... Came on shift after an exhausted nurse, and another nurse who was working with me that night, both of whom were new nurses. The first nurse had placed a Foley catheter in the patient, but the patient needed a suprapubic catheter instead. She was very tired, and I just told her we would take care of it and she went home. So... I asked the second nurse, to please place the right catheter in the right port. She said "Ok," and as I was leaving the room I saw her take out the Foley catheter, and then she just shoved it inside the Suprapubic port. Didn't clean it off or clean the site, (or get a new cath, which is what she was supposed to do), just shoved it right on in there like everything was normal. 😮 I remember telling my ADON manager, "Well,... That's a new one! I haven't seen THAT before!" - the ADON talked with the nurse for me, because I was so upset about it, and put it in the right way & luckily the patient never got an infection... 😅 This was all at a rural mid-west hospital I had traveled to. Talk about "being in the wild". - Keep your eyes open and stay safe out there everybody!
The nurse inserted me when they put me to general anaesthesia. They did not informed me they will do it. I never knew what is this and it was my first surgery. I woke up during the surgery and was paralyzed. She inserted this shit, but it caused torture pain. I just could not withstand the pain, nor could breathe.

I have a Foley fitted and I always have to put an extra 10ml of fluid in the bulb or the tube just falls out.
Thank you 🙂

Make sure to adjust the $^(*ing bed before you start.
Love you as always.
never let it touch the ground or raise the bag above the level of the bladder too! 😉
