I don't do this often, but I have to say this to show my appreciation for what you've done for me personally. My first Patho test I received a 51%. For my next exam I studied only you and my textbook religiously. I just got my second Patho exam back and I got an 84%. You are honestly a life saver, Nurse Sarah, and helping me gain the confidence to show myself I can pass nursing school. I appreciate everything you do for us future nurses
This was an excellent demonstration of how to perform every step for Male Catheter Insertion. I can't think of a single step that was missed. Plus adding helpful hints to make the process go smoother were spot on. I have been an RN for 34 years, the last ten in home healthcare so this became a more frequent procedure, and I wish I had this instructional video to make it go much more professionally. Thanks for a great video. I will be sharing this with others.
Thanks so much #nurseserah I used your videos to take my degree program BSc nursing and it was of grt help. I still follow and watch you old and new videos as I intend to take my masters and someday take the NCLEX. You are doing well. Keep it up bless you ❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Sarah! Maybe at some point you could also do a video on male suprapubic catheter insertion which may be a little more complicated because of the surgical ostomy involved. Anyway, I love your very instructive videos and keep up the great work.
I'm amazed at how complex this is. I think mine was inserted while i was unconscious. It was discreetly removed during the nnighttime by a silent nurse. NP at all.
13:11 As a male patient with a chronic foley, I’m so mad no one told me this because I now have a “iatrogenic hypospadius” and I’m completely ruined from the damage caused.
Hello. If the lower abdomen is used for placement of the securement device (due to long-term placement of the catheter), the drainage bag would need to be adjusted in a way that helps gravity drain the urine. It is usually placed at the side of the patient below the bladder rather than at the foot of the bed. If you are unsure of the proper placement, please check your facility's protocol for more detail.
One thing...and only because I see it with telemetry electrodes...if your patient is Mr. Chewbacca please please PLEASE clip the body hair in the area before cleaning and applying the lock.
how much uncomfortable is the presence of vescical catether inside uretra and bladder? 1 no sensation 2 a sensation like a little urge to pee but not uncomfortable 3 a sensation like a moderate urge to pee a little uncomfortable but tollerable 4 a sensation like strong urge to pee quite uncomfortable and difficult to be not think about for all the time 5 not just uncomfortable but a little painful 6 very painful. What score is correct?.

Perfect timing for the video to come. I had to insert a foley yesterday, so I’m watching this for refine the skill and better practice.
Thank you for including proper uncircumcised care throughout this video. Not enough nursing videos include it.

Thank you very much ma 🙏🏾😊
Your procedure was great and it helped me understand what to do
Can you please explain if by placing the long-term catheter on the lower abdomen will it cause a back flow of urine to the bladder?

Good class

do most foley kits come with iodine in hospitals/facilities? my lab kit didn’t, i wasn’t sure if it’s just because it’s meant for learning purposes
Hello. How often and in which scenarios an anesthetic (such as Cathejell) is used before catheter insertion?
She loves her job ❤
Nice
Plz mam make video on female or male.reproductive system disorder
Would be hard for me to have such a cute nurse do that on me.
❤parabéns Pará Eles E a Ciência
How much water to inject to inflate the balloon ? That's always a mystery for me everytime I do that. 10, 20 or 30 ml ? How mush is thr standard ?
The amount varies but it will tell you how much water is needed on the tubing near the balloon port.
Does that iodine leave a stain on the skin?
Good
Please what does the iodine do?
❤❤❤

Had this done hurts bad never again
while a very good demonstration, I hope I NEVER have to have this done....
If you've got to have it for any length of time, latex catheter is brutal! Ask for silicone!
Is there a death option?
they didnt do all this for me guess the nurse didnt know the proper way and sure didnt feel good this was worse than having open heart surgery
If you're a woman you're not doing it at all to me!
My God ....
If the person is overweight and the penis is Small would it be hard to put the catheter on the penis?
this is what i really need a tutorial on.
What then what about female?
I've found the exit is more irritating 🤬
For god sake all the nurses have to do, I wouldn’t do that, no thanks
