  • In this video we film a few marbles collections from the Marble Universe radio podcast team and friends, this is part 2 of out series with the Marble Universe.
    Marble Universe cohost and glass artisian Ben Michael shows us some collectable vintage machine-made marbles from Peltier, Christensen, Master marble companies and we take a close look at a Veiligglas example from the Netherlands. Older German hand made marbles are also filmed and discussed .
    We showcase some terrific examples of Brian Graham transitional marbles with an informative discussion . Brian works with the 1” Peltier William H. Miller machine built in 1923.
    Ben presents many of his torch-made hand made marbles with a gallery of his most recent pieces.
    Marbles historian David Tamulevich presents some fantastic 2008-2008 Jabo Inc. tankwash marbles (likely Foxfire and Encore runs) and other Jabo models from hard to find runs. We look at a spread of Peltier 7/8” boulders and a very compete display of 1980’s / 90’s Champion marbles including some later “Furnace Scraping” marbles examples . David also shows and explains some rare 1980’s- 1990’s era West Virginia Armillaire packaged poly bags.
    Seasoned Connecticut collector Alphy Bard from the Nutmeg State Marble Collector’s Club shocks us with some of the rarest Akro packaging products and boxes from the Akro Agate marbles company that we have ever seen. Some pieces date back to the 1910’s.
    Visit the Brian Graham Glass Marble Company online at Briangrahamglass.com.
    You can find Ben Michael marbles on Facebook at “ben’s marble market” page.
    Visit Stephen Bahr and David Tamulevich on Facebook at our “Vintage Machine-Made Marbles page.

    Nice to see the dutch translation for Veiligglas that I posted on your video about these marbles.
    If you look at the marbles that children in the Netherlands have to this day, you will still be able to find a few of these old dutch marbles. They have been handed down from their grandparents and their parents. Most dutch people have no idea that these are dutch marbles.

    Thank you for your hard work Stephen…! At 55, I can’t explain why I love marbles so much….. but I do…😂 I still can’t believe Ron is gone, it’s sad to think about the future of the hobby, as “most” of the younger generation don’t seem to appreciate the “old” stuff like us old folk….😊

    I used to live in Germany between 1989 thru 1992. I have probably a few hundred marbles. This video was really awesome to be able to learn about different types of marbles, the marble community. I would love to share my marbles and knowing more about what i have and get involved in this community. I feel like this is something i could share with my son.

      @@stephenbahrmarbles I agree. However, I bought jugs of a thousand marbles in them. I got a great deal, a hundred dollars a jug. So, it ended up being more than I thought. I am at the point to where I am putting sets together and then I will chase the marbles I need to complete sets. I stopped collecting coins because I found there is so much more to colleting marbles, instead of coins. That is just my opinion. Just cant get enough of the marbles. I bought books and am always looking up and studying the marbles. Love them, cant get enough. And again, thank you for the videos.

      Hi Last Tree , if they are attractive marbles they eventually become collectible. Vacor De Mexico marbles and Jabo marbles are a good examples of more recent machine-made companies that have produced marbles that have become sought after.

      @dearld ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I sold them all. Sorry I did now,because I didn't really need the money. As you know marbleking when making their assortment bags of marbles they added marbles from all the other marble companies of the time. So I found marbles from all the other companies in the dumps as well. Marbleking workers threw out their end run and error marbles,so that's how I ended up with some great marbles like Akro ,early peltier, Berry pink,Christensen agate,Cairo,Ravenswood,ally agate and so on. It's hard to find a place to dig now. I live down the street from marbleking. I find marbles in my garden about every time I plow. Anyway,you can imagine what really a loss I incurred. Really love your video's ! Take care.
