This is BY FAR the most informative video I've found yet on the marble making process, well done sir! The work looks like a lot of fun honestly, you can tell everyone involved is having a great time!
Mr. Mccullough is a master marble maker! i collect several runs of his marbles, primarily Indian Summer and Hillbilly Magic. The colors are absolutely outstanding 😍
That is so cool. Does he still make marbles? I wonder where I can purchase some. I am a marble collector. I started in Texas and have started buying some in Oklahoma. I wonder if any postcards were ever made of any of his marbles.
What great, interesting watch. I learnt a lot about marbles but learnt more about the folks that are running a small "family" business. After a few mins I was more interested in you guys. I felt right at home.
Very cool video. Nice how you explain everything the men do. Would be nice to have such a machine here in N-Europe. Pity i can not buy a few as a European..
At the 23:16 mark i saw the exact marble that ive been trying to figure out who made them. Just picked up a big wooden box with roughly 2,000 of them. They all look like they were never played with and trying to figure out their worth NOT TO SELL of course, they ARE beautiful to look at.
I have glass marbles that belonged to my dad and grandfather and I have been looking for mine that my dad gave me when I was a kid probably some where in the basement or attic would love to find them and pass them down to my grandchildren
Today kids don't play marble 😣 I make a latest version marble gun that can shoot every 5~8 second . I hope marble factory still can exist in future and people don't play any fire arms with replace it with alcohol marble gun as sports .
It turns out that the special runs weren't created to save jabo. Turns out it was the money making scheme for Dave McCullough total special runs for jabo rolled in around 45 runs Joanne only had 14 marble contracts in her files. my question is where did the revenue from the other 31 runs go and why did Joanne not have a record of it?
Dennis, That would be fine but please email me with a link to the site and I reserve the right to have you remove it. Please don't think I'm being rude but it is sometimes a strange world that we live in and I wouldn't want to contribute to making it any stranger :-) Having said that thank you very much for the nice comment about the video. It was a project that was actually more difficult than what I thought it would be and because of it I strictly stick to shooting family videos and I don't edit any of them :-) Thanks again, Joe.
@@joestreet6574 hey joe. I’m looking to buy bulk jabo marbles. I see a few people buying them in bulk and selling them. Where can I get bulk jabo marbles? Do you have a email I can contact you at to talk about it
How sad. I don't know what a modern marble factory looks like, but I don't think this is it. Apparently they only make detailed videos of the operations when they have no trade secrets and nothing to loose by exposing the whole process.

Ive made over 200 stone marbles so far. A one man operation. Great video! Thanks.
I loved this video. Thank you.
White hardworking culture needs to be preserved like this.

Yes he does! Look up Dave's Appalachian Swirls! 😊
Thanks for posting this video. I love these marbles. I'm a potter myself and a little obsessed with getting some of those effects into my glazes.

Aww, just saw this for the first time - I’d love to get in on one of these as an investor, does anyone do that any more?
Are the marbles at the end Jabo Peltier Mansions?
The glass angel from the dirty jobs episode makes a cameo in this feature.
absolutely fascinating, thanks!
Do you know where i can get the marble rollers? :)
This factory no longer exists?

I wonder how many of the folks in this video are still alive. I know Ron Shepherd just passed.
Dave and Sammy are fine folks :-) Thank you for checking out the video.
Joemarblescom Dave McCullough is my grandpa.
Obviously made in America, everyone is plump!😂🤣😅
❤❤💘💘💖💖
Not much salad eaten at that place.
I wonder if anyone has ever made marbles out of purely sea glass.
@🔮ILUVMARBLES🔮 recycling it I guess.. I dunno it's been two years, I don't know what I was thinking back then.
