Tyr reminds me of Master Oakheart (that is almost certainly not its name), the 9 mana 5/5 that Recruits a 1,2,3 attack minion. The one that only druid ever used because it had Hadronox combos. It adds that deck building element where you might be more concious about what attack you add to the deck.
Yeah that's exactly what I immediately thought of when I saw the card, funny enough it was also used in Warlock to pull Voidlord, this is in Paladin and will probably pull the Voidlord "retrain" Annoy-o Troupe
I remember after Goblins & Gnomes, Blizzard stated they reflected and learnt that snowball cards (that gradually get stronger and win the game if the opponent doesn't have an immediate answer) weren't fun and would stop printing them. I wonder if anybody in the Hearthstone team has been around long enough to remember that when the idea of Titans was pitched.
I don't believe you, because I'm pretty sure every single set after that has had at least 1 snowball card that wins if you don't kill it in 1 or 2 turns.

Disproportionate incorporation of RNG elements 2. Snowball cards You'll also note the expansions succeeding GvG (Blackrock Mountain, Grand Tournament, League of Explorers) moved strongly away from these elements. Unfortunately, Blizzard has since taken these two problems and incorporated them as key gameplay mechanics. Hearthstone has long ceased to be a strategic game and instead a race to draw the most broken combo first.
The thing is, if you look back Hearthstone changed a lot after Ben Brode quitted(for me it was both good and bad), you can see how 2019 was a Year with cards being way more powerful, it was when the powercreep started becoming out of this planet, and it kinda changed again last year because the guy who took Ben's place also left Blizzard... So far I enjoyed, although I do agree somethings were way too powerful and broken...

Please help.", so we made a bunch of anti pirate cards and people stopped playing Pirate Warrior so much. So you know what we did? We made all the cancer cards into 5/5s. It's true! There is nothing more powerful than 1 mana 5/5s with charge! And since their deck is full of bounce, they can replay those charge minions and OTK you. It also never runs out of resources, thanks to Novice Engineer and Mimic Pod. And, if you really want to turn 6 lethal, just use Preparation on your Crystal Core, and play your whole hand! It's so unfair! People actually thought that the meta would slow down! We just took Pirates from one class, and put them in another more powerful one. Now none of the other quests are even playable!
I'm glad to see the design space open up so wonderfully this expansion. *Titan* of course offers immense depth but I personally enjoy that the *Tradeable* interface paved the path for *Forge*, something which I hope sees more experimentation and iterations in the futurex

I'm predicting Golganneth as the Hunter Titan since they also get Hodir, and Hodir was empowered by Golganneth in WoW. Golganneth’s domain is the sky and ocean so that fits with Hunter being in nature. Demon Hunter and Warlock will be Argus and Sargeras, who knows which one gets which. I wouldn't be surprised if Azeroth is a neutral Titan and there are three Titans that get made up.
The real question is that we only have 8 titans so are they gonna make 3 new titans (4 if Azeroth is neutral) or will they throw random non titan for some classes.
The theme looks really cool. The problem I see with the Titan mechanic is that minions never stay on the board for more than one turn, so using two abilities from a titan is too unlikely
I think the mechanic is un-hearthstone like, but it's still pretty cool. The main reason I say it's not hearthstone like is because the effect is very complicated and can't just be represented on the card. I remember trump faulting many custom cards for having too many effects to represent on a single card.
People had the same issue with colossals when released and now they feel like a natural fit into meta game. Of course there will the handful of new players who are taken aback by unintuitive mechanics but I think the devs realized that in order to continue pushing out new sets nuanced keywords would eventually have to be implemented in order open up new design spaces
Alright, let me ask you this. In what way are they a planeswalker and just any dorky minion with an activated ability? The fact you can attack them doesn’t make them any more planeswalker in the sense that you can’t even protect them like walkers, and they don’t special protection like walkers do. They also don’t have reusable abilities at all, the main power draw in walkers is the fact they’re recurring value engines that can be difficult to interact with. Like you can’t use minion removal on a walker unless it’s a burn spell or a spell that specifically kills walkers too. Is just being able to swing into a Titan the only thing that makes them close to planeswalkers? Jesus if that’s the case then every new creature in HD with an activated ability will “essentially” be a planeswalker.
Arena is just such a better format, I really don't understand how anyone has fun playing standard these days. Perhaps the Titans meta will be slow enough to where Trump might actually enjoy it
Standard is such a boring gamemode. Crafting a deck is mildly entertaining (to do, not to watch) and playing the deck is fun once or twice, but gets old fast. I just don't enjoy how optimized the decks are in standard. It means less enemy variety and more one-sided fights. Either your deck counters theirs, or vice versa. I know it's not like that every time, but it happens much more often in standard than arena. Arena makes the deck crafting fun to watch and suspenseful, and watching him play on the fly with his ramshackle deck is much more interesting than him making pre-planned plays with his pre-built deck. My only complaint with arena is that more of the focus is on stats and creature combat than effects and spells, but I still find it much more entertaining in general.
I think the titan cards are cool but there are so many single target removals in the game that i dont see them ever being more than a battlecry minion. At least with collossus there were multiple minions so while you lost the main part you had something left.
Honestly I dont think hedging these thing to stick around for more than one turn is really the point except for the mage titan. Im pretty sure their main value is the flexibility of the titan powers by being able to pick from the any 3 essential making them battlecry discover the battlecry minions

If the expansion bundles were cheaper it would be great! As it stands though, it is too much content when the expansion bundles are $80 (which don't even guarantee you all the cards!) and each mini-set is $20.
I think it'd be cool if forge gave the card to you next turn, like it takes a turn to forge it. Very in flavor, and could lead to more interesting strategy imo, particularly in late game when mana stops mattering so much.
Can you use each titan ability only once? Or do you have 3 uses in total where you can use the same ability 3times in a row if you want? (assuming the titan stays alive for 3 turns)
Does the Molten Rune cast twice as in you also get to target again? If so, that's even better as a Forge upgrade since you can hit 3 twice as opposed to solely 6 once.

I kinda like Hodir to allow hunter to have gigantic Heal + big cleave to control the board when combine with that 6 mana life steal cleave beast. Control big hunter can finally get sustain after so long.

Where did they say that you can't attack until youve used all their abilities? The way I understood the concept in the presentation video was that you can either CHOOSE to attack OR use an ability each turn (except the turn it's played ofc).

Shaman I assume will get Golganneth, Warrior gets Khaz'goroth, Sargeras for Warlock, Aman'thul perhaps neutral and then you have Aggramar and Argus but I doubt they will add all of them

@Cuestrupaster if it only casts the ones you got back to your hand after playing the infused version, then that means the original transformed card is not considered 'created' for the sake of Ronmath. This would mean that Forged cards would not be recast. However, anything generated from a Forged card would.
I think they should make a card type that deals with benefiting off of overdrawn like for example for the rest of the game your opponent takes 2 damage for each card you overdraw
no, because actual copies would copy the current state and then not track the other one. 5 and 5. if you used the 5 damage before copying, then the other one would be able to do a doubled one of the other 2, but not the damage one
@@passerby4507 maybe but its play jailer, next turn play son, tap, its a giant so immediately play it. Its 2. Next turn draw a giant, tap, another giant. If the meta is slower its either a slow down your fatigue or 16/16 in stats followed by another 16/16 of stats the next turn.
If warloc goes long game, or a way to draw and use up their deck, I could see warloc running son of hordir and that card that cost the same as their deck would be pretty good.

Tyr & Hodir, they’re both “Keepers” in WoW lore. Every class is getting a “Keeper” and a Titan for their class btw!

Planeswalkers and Kicker variants like Foretell are two of the most popular mechanics in Magic, so Titans and Forge have potential!

Don't think it works this way, pretty sure they need to be on the board, you're resetting the card once you bounce it.

@Cuestrupaster if it only casts the ones you got back to your hand after playing the infused version, then that means the original transformed card is not considered 'created' for the sake of Ronmath.
This would mean that Forged cards would not be recast. However, anything generated from a Forged card would.
I think they should make a card type that deals with benefiting off of overdrawn like for example for the rest of the game your opponent takes 2 damage for each card you overdraw

@@passerby4507 maybe but its play jailer, next turn play son, tap, its a giant so immediately play it. Its 2. Next turn draw a giant, tap, another giant. If the meta is slower its either a slow down your fatigue or 16/16 in stats followed by another 16/16 of stats the next turn.
