I have been following your videos and I am really enjoying the way you explain. I am so glad to hear that you avoid spraying. The plants look so healthy. Maybe you could make a video about your soil preparation process? I dream to see it some day. Do you adjust your pH for each garden bed or you have the same soil in every garden bed?
@@antivirussoftware2005 thank you for your compliment. That’s a good idea - Next video on the garden I will explain how we do it. We do nothing for PH though.
Love your page mate I've been watching lots of your videos the last week! Especially the erosion and leaky weirs ones. Is the farm in the darling downs?
You have plenty of good stuff growing there. Some of the things you can grow there make me jealous. I wouldn’t change anything though, I love where we live.
That is looking good. Good soil and, good temperatures, enough water, and enough hours of sunshine. Here in Holland we had enough water, it practically rained non stop from last year October to mid July from this year, but we did not get enough sunshine and warm enough temperatures up until the second week of July. At the start of the summer during the first two weeks of July the temperature was still hanging around 16C. But now the daytime temperatures are finally above 20C, and we finally did get some consecutive sunny days, and even a few hot days around 30C. But the night temps are still hovering around 17C. On average the temperature difference between night and day is around 10C. That is a bit of an unusual large temperature difference, but it is actually quite nice because I do not have airconditioning, so at night the house can cool down to a comfortable level. Now we have 3 very nice days ahead, today 27C, tomorrow and the day after it will be 30C and 29C. And after that it will rain again. We still get plenty rain, but at least now we have 3 or 4 days of dry weather, and then 1 or two days of rain. And that rain after the hot days makes the hot days only more bearable. As always thanks for the update and a big 👍
@@insAneTunA the weather plays a much greater role part than my skills in the garden. We are getting a lot of rain currently and little heat so that might mess the balance slightly. Your temperature fluctuations are really interesting and it sounds like it works for you.
@@queenslandfarmer Actually the weather is working against me. It was a horrible Spring and start of the summer. Far too cloudy, wet and cold. Sometimes it was so cloudy that you couldn't even see the clouds. The lack of sunshine and excessive rain in the Spring and the start of the summer really made an negative impact. Plants could not outgrow the snail damage, seeds did not germinate, more than half of the flower bulbs that I planted did nothing at all, my rose got black spotted mold, the grass that I tried to let grow got squashed. The pond water started to get issues with water hardness levels. Things only got better after the second week of July when the temps went up a bit and when we had a little more sunshine, almost a month and a half after what would be normal for the time of the year. I was lucky that I was able to get some flower seeds germinated in some pots, but that was more than a month later as the recommended time to seed them. Not a single seed was willing to germinate before that. And now I have to cover the plants with shade cloth because we just had the hottest day of the year so far.
Looking good Chris. Those Capsicums should take off as soon as things warm up a tad.
Cheers mate.
@@RobsAquaponics thanks for the tip Rob. Great to hear they should grow soonish.

Soil and weather. The magic combination

Hi Hazza, no the farm is in the wide bay area. Glad your binge watching the channel. Please share it around if you get the chance.

A lot of jealousy this end in the UK.
