i usually tame titans with traps
try a 3 stone batal ment trap get it in then place another batalment [stone or metal] behind it
They won't lose torpor if they are trapped.

titans are not a permanent tame it's probably dying from starvation because they're used in pvp servers plus you gave them brain damage because your hitting it in the head which will cause brain damage

you don't need foods to tame a titan, you just need the saddle to tame it

Use rockets!!! They tame the same with rockets!!
rockets are less efficient than cannons because rocket launchers have very low durability and can break easily and takes 63 shots for the titan to get knocked out and 21 shots for it to get knocked out by using cannons (titan level 1)
