Hi Robert. Thanks for uploading this as I couldn't remember how to remove the shells having owned a Bandit 1200 in the past. Just picked up another 1200 Mk1 and the tach and fuel gauge are in total darkness though speedo is ok but I am going to change every bulb anyway for piece of mind. Regarding the bulbs, I wouldn't bother with LED's as they don't spread the light the way a filament bulb does - I personally think the standard illumination is fine as long as you use a 4w T10 for tacho and 2w T5's for speedo and fuel gauge which I did on my last Bandit 1200 and were bright and clear. Regarding the idiot lights, I must admit that LED's look way better, especially in the High Beam indicator - the standard blue does look rather dull and bland.
@@trebor4460 I regret selling my last one and wanted another one for ages but sadly the Mk1 prices have gone up as they are now sought after but as luck would have it, a Dark Green 1999 one turned up on Gumtree for £1300 and was selling because it belonged to his dad who had a stroke and so couldn't ride anymore and I managed to get it for £1150 !!! It is a very clean/tidy example and though the clock sports 66000 miles, the owner serviced it regularly and it runs a treat and hasn't lost any of it's power - you know how bombproof these engines are. It has an oval Micron end can which sounds lovely and I have ordered a set of twin headlamps which should arrive in a few days. Happy.
