Hi Guys, Frost here. Welcome to a new installment from the series "how to get gold at low levels in classic wow". Now, I've already made a couple of similar videos on the channel and more to come in the future because having gold in classic wow it will just make you progress smoother and your life easier. Most of the characters I've leveled in vanilla got me almost half way into buying the epic mount by the time I've reached 60. The purpose of the videos is to get you on the same level, reaching 60 and having alot of gold to spare.
Today we're going to take a look at another 3 grinding spots that can make you decent gold and experience between levels 30 - 45.
The first location im going to show you is in the jungle.
Now you might think "really, stranglethorn grind?! No way." But hear me out. This is not necessarily a grind spot as it is a piece of information, a little bit of knowledge that can make you some extra gold while leveling your main or an alt.
The mobs we're after are the venture co shredders located in the heart on stranglethorn with 3 spawn points and an interesting loot table.
The item they're dropping is the Fused Wiring used in a variety of engineering recipes such as: Field repair bot, Gnomish cloacking device, Goblin jumper cables, mechanical dragonkin and so on. The drop chance is estimated to be around 6% and due to the fact that there only 3 spawn points and this is the only somehow efficent place to get it... the price of it on the auction house is anywhere between 5 and 10 golds, sometimes even more.. you know.. supply and demand.....
The second location for today is in Swamp of Sorrows.This is one of my favourite grind spots in vanilla. Killing Dreaming whelps, adolescent Whelps and the ocasional jaguar. If you watched my previous video "The crimson whelp grind" You'll understand why this spot is so good.
There are 5 Dreaming whelps and 7 adolescent whelps spawns, They drop the small flame sack which sells for a decent amount at auction house or can be used to make fire protection potions. The sacks have around 10% chance to drop and it's one of the main reasons you want to grind here. On top of this you'll get lots of grey items, green and blues with a higher chance than your average mob. If you are not aware yet, dragonkins have the best loot table in the game while having less HP and armor... making them easier to kill, assuming you're not fighting elites...
The third location and the last is in the Badlands. And another Whelpling spot, this time in the north-eastern part of badlands. Home to the Scalding Whelp with levels between 41 and 43, hp between 1500 and 1700 hundred and around 1800 armor.. which makes it one of the most balanced spots to grind for exp and gold.
Skinning is pretty much required here to get the most out of this spot. During the 2 levels I grinded here made around 150 gold not counting the epic drop Ardent custodian.
Most of the gold came from selling heavy and thick leather, small flame sacks, the grey items and lots of greens including plate items that sell pretty decent on the auction house...

Tyler Belanger I still have my scarab lord on retail.. No one wants to love retail more than I do but it's NOT an MMO like Vanilla was/is. Knowing the private servers are going to be taken down is the only reason I haven't devoted a lot of time into leveling multiple classes. Once Blizzard comes out with them I will be putting time in for sure, while growing my real life business lol
NeverStopPulling your scarab Lord will still be epic. Classic server players won't carry the,rare items to live I believe
Robert Colo'n I don't want my scarab lord .. it's useless because WoW is dead(compared to what it was). The game is still alive and well but the feeling in the game and the reward system is dead. You can literally BUY mounts that look just like the scarab lord only cooler...
Dude, my compliments, you have a nice voice and add such relaxing music on the background. Kinda mixed about the content because everyone will use this when it comes out, but keep up the work nevertheless :)

the green dragonscales obtained by skinning the whelps in the swamp are used for +5 herb enchant. you should sell those on the AH also. they are sometimes a goldmine. specially on a fresh realm

The spot for the black whelps furthest in the back is also the spot where your least likely to get attacked by the other faction. I rarely happened back when I did that grind in vanilla although the leather did actually sell and I never vendored it.

I remember making a bunch of target dummies and using them on CD while online. When you kill them they have a good chance at dropping the wiring.

the fused wiring was how I got my first mount on my broke as hell priest... those were the days man.
i solo farmed gnomeregan from 37-40 as an engineering frost mage with backdoor key. i also used the net trinket and sometimes bombs. i just cleared the round room by kiting mobs around the steel ring (they can't cross it), pulled last boss with blizzard and blinked out before the gates closed then kited him to the round room and killed him the same way. got some gold from it and 1-2 fused wirings per run.

I farmed an emerald whelp pet there back in the day,took months but I still have him :)
I remember leveling my shaman in vanilla. I stopped in a cave in hillsbrad foothills and just grinded the crap out of a cave of yetis I must have been there for hours. Left the cave with a full bag of leathers and a few levels to boot.

Farming fused wiring won't be anywhere as close to the value as on private servers. The reason is target dummys are glitched on private servers. You're suppose to be able to kill them and they drop fused wiring. Reason it's so high on private servers is the target dummies don't work right so the shredders are one of the only sources for it (not only just the best). Like you pointed out it's used for repair bots so there'll always be a market for raids. This won't be on the case on actual vanilla because target dummies will work correctly. Atleast they should...
Funny enough, target dummies drop nothing on Classic servers. Feels like playing on a private server, hope they fix that soon :D

I did the Scalding Whelp grind on many toons hoping for the whelpling. Never got it... Did get some good blues tho.

not quite, the spots cater to an economy that is very likely going to establish itself in Classic WoW based on items people need for raiding.

Why were you vendoring the leather you skinned?
Most private servers have leather at about vendor price on the AH. With the tax on ah transactions, it's better to just sell it.
Agreed, you only really start ah it when you skin rugged leather
Only the best leather (forget the name at the moment) sells for anything decent. Skinning is typically taken by both rogues and hunters along with other classes who feel like having a 0 effort gathering profession as you max it without trying by just questing in areas with beasts in them sometimes. I remember anything at heavy hide or below was essentially vendor price (thanks to STV/pretty much all Starting areas). Once you hit Rugged Leather you can sell it because it's used to make actual gear.
Heavy leather is useful for Thorium Brotherhood rep. But even then it's so commonly available that it still only sells for just above vendor price, if it sells at all. Thick leather is where it starts. Never ever vendor thick leather. The Nightscape tunic recipe is a good money maker. Leatherworkers will pay you 40-50s more per stack than the vendor does.
It is pretty common that leather is worth nearly nothing because most people take it. Especially early into the game when nobody has money yet leather is only worth for selling at the vendor.

What we need is not a AH gold farming guide, but a "Raw" gold guide. the first 3-4 months of classic it'll really be pointless trying to make gold with AH as noone will have the money to buy anything from it.

That was the only way I remember, but perhaps they added that later in BC or LK because people where hard-up on fused wiring.

I sell everything to vendor to do the raw gold/hour math. You could sell some good greens items and the leather to auction house and make more.

Wait, what? fused wiring was worth that much? I got them fairly easily from crafting Decoys with engineering, I thought that was the only way of getting them. You can loot the decoy for materials which would also sometimes inclued fused wire (was a good chance). It may be a very profitable to craft decoys and farm them for it, you'll also get soem mats back to help re-craft more decoys. Just a thought

Those spots are no good on Lights Hope. You'll get ganked and I think the same will happen in classic. People aren't that dumb with their gold spots.If it is not on PVE server, I'll gank you if you're not 60 and hang out there.
