I'm so with you on the traditional paintbrush 🖌 🙌 vs watercolor brushes. Your travel bag is perfect ! 🎨👝🤓 You've given me some great ideas 💡 👌 Thank you !
My travel bag is similar. It’s an old photography film pouch (Dating myself 😊). Soooo glad I didn’t throw it away. Same type of bag but black. Everything fits nicely in my small sling bag. Same little Moleskine, mech pencil, couple pens (also a Kakuno), plus 2 travel brushes, a water brush (for the museum), skinny paint pallet, and a small water thingy (it’s actually some kind of salad dressing travel container from Dollar Tree) and 2 binder clips. That’s it. Happy sketching 😊
*there are really nice burshrests found on Esty... there is a shop called Monarch Brushrests...they are very, very nice and look beautiful on a desk...i have one and use it frequently...really handy especially if using several brushes at the same time*
First time visitor. You sold me on the fountain pen and ink. Where did you get the hand held palette?? And the wooden palette with cork holder? I tried your website but no watercolor tools there. Or maybe I missed it. Going to look at the brush lol. Love the video.
Cool video, first time watching your channel, it's very informative and inspiring too. I particularly found the following things unusual and worth looking into: - the screwtop water containers - the mini porcelain palette and pouch. - wooden palette in a cork pouch (handmade is the way to go!) - three-section water container is a great idea for studio use. I'm currently using too large glass jars which have lids - necessary because of cats in the art space at home!
Hi! I have a few more still in my shop now I think and will probably have a few more later next week. The time crunch right now is getting enough time to cure the oil finish but I’m trying to get some more! Katryalls.com
Thanks, Kat. You might like the Lamy Joy. They are longer. And the nibs are interchangeable with other Lamys. I always use Converters. Another good waterproof ink is Noodlers Lexington Gray. I also recommend @tombihn. They are up your alley - Seattle small business. They make backpacks and accessories geared for one bag travel as well as hiking and day trips. I can't recommend them highly enough. Nothing inside gets wet. I really like the Daylight Backpack for short rambles. Finally, I bought the 3-well water container and like the heft. I like that I don't have to worry about knocking it over. And, i, too, use the graph gear pencils. I like them a lot.
*new subscriber here (literally moments ago)...noticing how you use sketch pens and brushes as a texturing technique...very expressive...i collect inks and have many form various sources a good number found on esty (foxandquills...beautiful inks) but most from Goulet Pens where they have over 800 inks and sell samples very reasonably priced...might be worth exploration* *also...on your small sketchbooks...have you considered using an accordion journal as well?...i have one very close in size to the one you have in this video also a moleskin that opens as a regular book but also expands to over thirty pages...i've also done some bookbinding work on cover so it looks far less ordinary and more weathered or knockabout tatty worthy...for me the act of painting and art in general is meditative process and also a very tactile experience...all of the elements surrounding it are part of the process...every thread is woven and twisted together in such a way that all are an intrical part of the process*
Hi Cindi! I need to get better at including details 😊 my favorite is the pilot kakuno, twsbi eco are also great. The Lamy safari and kaweco sport are the other ones I’ve used but aren’t the greatest fit for my hands

I just uploaded a new video choosing colors for my palette!
Amazing, thanks for sharing ❤
Your kit is very much like mine and I even have the same travel brushes! Love them! I’m enjoying your videos, keep ‘em comin’! ❤
Thanks for your comment, and I was shocked by how nice the travel brushes are!

I like the kaweco pen
Any chance you will be restocking the wooden pallets before Christmas? If not, when? Thanks!

What brand of travel brushes are they? Thanks!
Hi, where did you get your tiny sketchbook? :)
