It was so soothing to watch the organising-as I sit here in unsorted chaos. Unsorted, except for my pencils…! I ended up with four of these units, because my first order was damaged and replaced, and I’ve filled every drawer, lined up along my Ikea worktable 😄. I love them, even though I’m usually the “out of sight, out of mind” type for art supplies. It still works well for my brain to have different types of pencils grouped and easily accessible, rather than in different boxes or bunched in pencil cups. I even manage to return them to rainbow order after using them! Maybe it’s something about sorting them and laying them back in storage that also feels like an act of creativity. I will say that it was hit-or-miss getting an item that wasn’t damaged (still usable, but several dividers were broken or missing on arrival), but this was a few years ago, and I had shopped around to find the lowest price so I’m unsure what the branding is on mine 🙂
Thanks for sharing! It's a journey to find organization systems that work for us and takes time 🙂 thanks so much for telling us about your experience and I'm glad eventually they worked for you! I can totally see having that quality issue, one can tell it's not the highest quality right of the bat but still cute and not plastic so that's a plus in my book!
Thank you. This is very inspiring. I’ve had similar drawers for ages - love them for pencils & pastels. I’m a cluttered ADHD type living in Germany & stuggle terribly to conform to the domestic “ordnung” standards all around me. 😂 I laugh, but honestly, it’s quite stressful. In the midst of a house move (we finally bought a place) & am leaving the studio supplies to last - listening to Dana too! She has a marvelous approach for emotional declutterers.
Thanks for sharing! I don't know your situation but I have never been so stressed in my life about trash as I have since living in Austria... We have small trash cans that are emptied monthly and that day of the month is the happiest 😂😂
I have adhd too and I really know how hard it is to keep everything in order-my home and studio is in constant mess. I loved the time of the pandemic, not the horrid disease itself of course, but we had no visitors so I didn’t have to feel awful and excuse myself to my very organised friends, I am Swedish and having a clean and organised home here is almost a moral obligation! Congratulations to your new home-I hope you will get a nice studio space!
@@SUSSDUEOh I get it! Thank you for commiserating. I like to say I am minimalist in spirit but not in practice. I am CONSTANTLY struggling & cringe when anyone enters my home. Culture does matter. But renting a home that doesn’t fit our life compounds it. Having our own place will hopefully help. I plan on a cottage in the garden for my own judgement free space. And keeping other spaces clear.🤞🤞🤞😂
@@iritlandgrafDitto! I’d probably be just fine in someplace like the UK where eccentrics & maximalists have their honored place. But NOT here - where a beloved stack of thrifted, mismatched dinnerware makes me feel like a social deviant! 😂😂😂 But seriously, I get decision exhaustion very quickly, & as a creative I see potential in EVERYTHING. 😳 So I’ve had to get brutal, really paring things back to what will fit sanely with room to breathe in the spaces I envision- Dana’s “container” approach. Accordingly, I love your posts on managing your materials. Thank you. 💗💗💗
I agree with you about Dana K White's book Decluttering at the Speed of Life. It is helping me reclaim my art space and decide what to keep and what to throw away or give away.
Irit, I'm working on the decluttering and clearing thing too and I tend to be messy, as well. Once I get immersed in something, I don't always want to think about keeping things tidy. It's a constant struggle.
You can do it! I totally relate and all I can say is that it's a journey and I have learned to enjoy it. It's a muscle and the more you get used to going through your stuff and decluttering the easier and more fun it gets! What I loved about Dana's book that I mention is that her method doesn't ever leave you with more mess than you started so you can really declutter and see progress even if it's just a few moments a day. Keep on keeping on!
I have two sets of those Meeden drawers (I have the kind that stack, so there are little slots that keep one set on top of another). Anyway, I’ve used them forever and LOVE them! Sometimes I wish the drawers were just a few mm deeper, but most of the time I appreciate that the thin drawers keep the unit more compact.
Thank you for a lovely video! Vetry cute drawer. I have some of my art material in a tall printers cabinet with many small shallow drawers and it is great for storage but I find I only use half of what is in it because ” out of sight out of mind”. And yet if I had everything ” out” in the open all the clutter would for certain kil any creativity and my studio is messy as it is-so it is a dilemma. Perhaps if I had a more organised brain and remebered what I had but my adhd makes me forget stuff all the time. I have wondered if it would be better just to have one open shelf next to my desk and only filled w colours and art material I really liked instead of either having all pens of a brand in jars on the desk or in the printer cabinet drawers. I really admire your restraint in what you have. That seems such a better way to really get work done with what you like to use. I sadly have anno session to have everything of a brand even in colours -I have aome weird obsession to have ” whole sets”. Apart from being ridiculous it is also expensive… I wish I could have ut as declutteted as you have. I might have to find
I totally relate to a lot of what you wrote and for me it has been a journey and I'm still in the middle of it. I found I need several organization systems so that I can a. Easily reach what I use often b. Not get too messy of overwhelmed c. Still see and have most things easily reachable so they are not forgotten. It's usually a compromise between functionality and aesthetics. Seems like a lot of artists and crafters struggle with this so i think there are more organization videos in my future!
Thanks Irit! That’s a good solution! Your studio looks lovely. Your paintings 😍 Really looking forward to hearing more about your new class. Take care💕 Namaste 🙏
Hello Irit…. I’ve been eyeing off that drawer unit for a while…. I just wish it was that teeny weeny bit deeper 😊. You’ve teased us again with your upcoming course… ever since you first mentioned it I’ve been waiting for THE email that invites us to join same 😝. Love your studio…. It’s a joy to the eyes. Take care ❤
Hi Jeanette! Yup, would be awesome if it were like 3mm deeper! As for the class, it is sort of done and ready. I just have been struggling to work so much in the last months that I didn't want to set a launch date before it was completely ready. So sorry! But I think I'm soon ready and I hope to announce it next week, classroom will be open, self paced with tons and tons of really amazing content, if I do say so myself. It's absolutely my favorite class I've ever done and it's full of super helpful techniques and strategies. So so excited to share it!!
I’m curious if you are able to store 15 ml watercolor tube paints in them. Or are they too big for the drawer. I love how you organized your supplies. It’s like looking at a candy store! Beautiful

Great solution Irit, love these draws ~ so easy to see everything
Thanks so much 😊

Omg please bring back your crochet channel!!!! I miss watching you!!!
Hi Gina! I might share a bit more about crochet here, I just can't keep up with both channels 😔
Very satisfying!
I think so too!
these videos are always so relaxing ☺☺☺
Glad you like them!

Thanks so much! 😊
I have a 3 draw version of this that I use 1 for soft pastel, 1 for oil pastels and 1 for pastel pencils.
Thanks for sharing!
I love it ! So beautifully organized!
Thank you!! 😊
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for!!
So glad!
Your colors are amazing and very eye pleasing.
Oh thank you!
Sorry for my spelling! I pressed the send button before I had spell checked!
No worries!

Love the drawers!! Did you make your sweater or the embellishments?
I wish I had!! But no, bought it but want to make more like it 😀
I am curious if these drawers would fit watercolour tubes? I couldn’t find the depth of the inside of the drawers. My biggest tubes are 20ml tubes.
Tricky! My 15 ml tubes fit but they snag and it's not smooth sailing so... I'm not sure 😕
Dana K. White is great. 😊 She is also on TH-cam.
Good to know!
I’m curious if you are able to store 15 ml watercolor tube paints in them. Or are they too big for the drawer. I love how you organized your supplies. It’s like looking at a candy store! Beautiful
Hmmm good question! I tried it and they fit but not perfectly, so I think if they are full it might snag here and there... Hope that helps!
Irit- do you think these would be good for watercolor brush storage?
Hmmm good question! Probably not because they are barely 20cm (8 in) deep so many brushes wouldn't fit (at least from my collection)
Hello! Can watercolor pans fit in these? Thank you in advance ❤
I think pans would fit but larger tubes (15ml and more) are tricky!
@@iritlandgraf Thank you!
