Incredible that Steffi Graf has three of the greatest tennis weapons/arsenal of all time even with today’s standards.

    2. The BACKHAND SLICE (Counterattack)
    3. The MOVEMENT (Speed/Agility/Footwork)
This trifecta makes her unique and incredible to witness!!! No other tennis athlete, man or woman, can claim that... with the exception of the great Roger Federer.

Those are 3 things Roger and Steffi have in common. They undoubtedly have the best forehands in the history of tennis. Sure, some would quibble about Nadal's FH...but he can't do half the things with his forehand that Roger can do...and he'd say that himself, so it's not like he doesn't know.

Every time I watch old Graf footage like this, I am reminded again just how brilliant a player she was. A true master of tennis who would kick any of today's players to the curb - no doubt. While the men's game has grown more and more competitive over the decades and the prospects are bright, I fear we won't see such levels of excellence in the women's game for a while.

3:00 is THE shot. Moving backwards, had to play it off her heels and still managed to generate the racquet head speed to deliver the pass. Incredible athleticism and skill.

Unbelievable shot! To generate that much of power only using her wrist as well as hitting the ball inside out... that's THE shot! Even Graff was pumped up after hitting that shot whereas she has always been very composed.

One detail about Steffi. Even when she wasn't playing her best she would still find a way to win. That's intimidating.
How many times did Sabatini, playing at her best just couldn't stop Steffi. Or the 1999 French Open final. Hingis winning, but makes a few mistakes and Steffi doesn't forgive her. Give Steffi an opening and she turns the match around. And she was out of the French in '97 and' 98 because of injuries and Hingis was N°1. Steffi didn't care and left Martina crying in her mother's arms.
And the most lovable thing about Steffi, she didn't grunt, berate officials, nor towel off between points. A total lady, but unbeatable.
